"I was just curious," Lanan didn't bother to hide the disappointment in his voice. "I need someone to mold more bolts for my crossbow," he said as he raised his left arm, showing her the gauntlet on which his crossbow was attached.
"I have to get going." Lanan told her, "Is there anything else?"

"Would you mind if I came with you?" she asked sweetly

 

"That would explain your fighting skills.", said Trenyan.

He was thinking waht to say next, but he suddenyl realised something.
"That doesn't explain, however, where your money comes from. I've seen your little show at the inn, last night.
Listen, I don't know who you are, and I barely care to know. What I need is a little information. You definitely look like someone who knows things."

The noise of the crowd came to Trenyan's ears, whose shape was a mix between a Cylian's and a Wolf's ears. He was dissapointed.

"Unfortunately, we can't talk right now. We've got a village whose evacuation must be overseen... well, at least that's what I'll do."

 

Tristan raised an eyebrow while crossing his arms. Well I guess that went well enough.

 

Are you serious?, Lanan quietly thought. Why in the world would he bring along a girl on his travels? Instead of telling her no, Lanan considered just taking off. But maybe she would be of use...
"You can come to the town with me. No further." He then asked, "why do you want to accompany me?" He asked it with a low growl, hoping to intimidate her.

 

Becka shruged "I don't know really." she said. "You seem interesting enough though."

 

I'll take that as a compliment, Lanan thought and then replied, "Alright then, let's go." He then turned around and continued heading towards the town.

 

Becka had to walk a little fast to keep up with him. "So why were you with that farmer?" she asked.

 

Bane was approached by a boy, he thus made motion for his men to halt.

"Give me your money," the upstart "criminal" said.

"Where I come from, threats were threatining," Bane said this while grabbing the boys arms, and then snapping them.

"Wha-," the boy cried out, confused.

"You are lucky I admire youthful defiance. Spread the word that Bane has come, and he will find those that oppose him and break them," Bane said this, and let go of they boy's arm.

The boy without a word, started to run.

"Why didn't you just kill him?" Bones asked.

"Because he will spread fear. Because vermin know the vermin language better then some others. To set a example," Bane said.

 

"His farm was raided by a small group of Lizards; the same Lizards that attacked you, I presume." He then added, "I took care of the Lizards and the farmer gave me a bed to rest on." Lanan saw no need to tell her of the other battle.

 

Trenyan didn't like the numebr of things going on at once. After reading the letter he received from the boy, things only got worse.
The message was from an old friend of his, requesting his immediate presence in the Ilianam kingdom. No reason was given, except "that it was a good one".
"Great. I guess I'll leave at noon. I have to talk with that Shaper... how many times have I said that already... ok, but first helping the people evacuate.".

 

"So then why are you going into town? Whay not stay there for a while?" she asked curiously

 

"You mean at the farmer's?" Lanan inquired. "I'm not the kind of person who stays around in one place for a long period of time."
Lanan looked at her as he walked and thought to himself, What's with all the questions? She's a curious one.

His curiosity then got the best of him.
"What about you? Don't you have a home?"

 

She looked at him. "No I don't have a home, or a family for that matter."

 

Lanan actually felt bad for the girl after hearing this.
"I guess we're two of a kind," he said with a smile, grinning his fangs.
He then realized he had forgot the most basic question, "I'm Lanan Curas Luna, by the way. What is your name?"

 

Becka smiled "It's nice to meet you Lanan. My name is Becka." she said

 

"Hm", was all Lanan said to Becka as they entered the town.
If I was a market, I would be.... Lanan thought as he looked around. "Hey, look at that," he told Becka and pointed towards a crowd.
"Let's see what's up. Maybe someone can direct me to the market or a weapon-maker", he told her as he picked up his pace and headed towards the crowd

 

Becka had to run a little to keep up, but she followed him silently. She looked around the town trying to memorize it.

 

It looks like they're trying to evacuate..., Lanan thought.
He stopped the first person who passed him on the street.
"What's going on?"

The man looked at the strange Wolf clanner and the Cylian girl before replying, "The Lizards are supposedly coming back! It's a war! We're evacuating this town"

Lanan looked at Becka and said, "What a shame, it seems like such a quiant town...Tell me," he was talking to the human again, "where's the market? I need bolts for my crossbow."


"You're out of luck," the man said and then added, "The only weapon-maker in town left weeks ago. His brother was the one of the first farmers to have their farms raided. They both abandoned this place." He saw Lanan's disappointment and apologized before rushing off.

"Well, now what?", Lanan said outloud to no one in particular
