The World Ends With You or Kingdom Hearts?

I'm here to talk about which is better. The World Ends With You, a DS game that is by Jupiter and Square Enix, OR Kingdom Hearts, if you don't know who makes it by now then... that's just a fail. Pick which one is better and tell everyone on here why. Personally The World Ends With You is very close but KH is better since it has more characters, games, and sequels while TWEWY's storyline doesn't allow for a sequel.

 

Comparing the games is kinda hard since they both are kinda different in terms of story, character, gameplay, and etc. I loved both and it's a tie for me. I personally prefer Neku over Sora since he has better character development.

 

Yes and I love how the game actually has a life lesson packed into it while you kick ass and destroy the noise. Its one more reason for your parents to get the game for you. ^^

 

The World Ends With You. When in comparison to Kingdom Hearts, it is clear that it simply holds the superior plot and characters. Character development is a central plot point in the The World Ends With You; the characters and plot in general are also slightly more unique than Kingdom Hearts - or what one can call unique in the sense of Square-Enix. The gameplay aspect allows a slightly larger competition between the two games; both of them are actually quite fun to play. Kingdom Hearts, though using menus to provide distinct combat strategies and such, simply comes across as a "Press X to win" video game as it is essentially that; simply keep beating up the enemy with a giant key to win the game. This is, of course to say, that similar logic does not hold itself within The World Ends With You: essentially "press a random amount of buttons and/or scribble with your stylus on the touch screen to win". The latter, however, provides more distinction; The World Ends With You's battle system requires a greater deal of coordination and if using the top screen frequently, is classified as a "button masher" itself, but its interesting innovation through the multi-usage of both DS screens at the same time - combined with the fact that it does not pass the bar to become not quite fun and yet horribly tedious, earns it a medal over the compared game in my opinion.

 

Good point and although KH has some extras at the end after beating the game like extras for 100% completion of Jiminy's journal TWEWY has the chapters, journal entries by Mr. H, The Another Day bonus level and not to mention the charm of collecting pins. It is much better in that sense.

 

Both are good. TWEWY contributes more breakthrough gameplay elements but I still choose Kingdom Hearts over the former. Why? Because I consider it a gem of a series.

 

It's too hard for me to say... It would have to be kingdom hearts for me. I've known it much longer than I have for TWEWY.

I prefer Shiki over Kairi anyday, though.

 

I played TWEWY long before I played Days(My first KH game. I don't own a PS2) I actually picked up TWEWY again recently and I still enjoy it just as much as I did back in 08. While Days after about 6 weeks(I had to play through it twice, LONG story) is on my shelf collecting dust. The replay value for TWEWY is already higher. I also enjoy the story of TWEWY more then Kingdom Hearts. But then again the plots are different in the sense that the plot of TWEWY is somewhat more character driven while Kingdom Hearts is driven more by circumstance. Character wise TWEWY wins hands down. All the characters have back story. You can't help but root for them. And there is a lot more intriging mystety in TWEWY while KH is slightly predictable, Sora will ALWAYS win.
So in short while KH has its lovable charms, TWEWY has elements that make it a more entertaing and suspensful game to play.

 

Yeah, TWEWY has charm, and a story of humanity. I hardly ever play TWEWY anymore, but when I do, it's to to recollect good memories from last year.

Neku has more wit than Sora, Shiki is less preditable and more charming than Kairi, and Beat is a lot more livley than Riku. (Though I like Riku more than beat.)

I agree totally. Though I play Days more than TWEWY, I still enjoy playing the game even if it is completed.

 

HAHAHA!!! Yeah Beat is just a little bit better than Riku. Although they are similar in one thing, they both went to the bad guys to save someone that they care about.
