ITT getting all the dumb jokes about a thing that's not even that big a deal out of our system

 

But it is a big deal. What's the point of the word "literally" when people use it to mean "figuratively," which is literally the opposite of what it means? And what about when I use it to indicate that something which sounds like hyperbole is, in fact, meant to be taken literally?
