    I don't know, you can't judge a book by it's cover.

I too shall watch it for the sake of everyone.

Just because Daniel Radcliffe stars in it does not mean that it is a good movie.

I totally forgot about this movie. But just because the star of Harry Potter is in it doesn't mean its going to be a good movie. I am a horror fun and lately new horror movies are not that great (as in not scary at all that I can fall asleep watching it). Im not even going to bother paying to watch "Devil Inside Me", I rather watch it online. However, sense "The Woman In Black" isn't American horror or some cheap ass remake of a Asian movie, the movie is UK horror and I never gave UK horror a chance so I might watch it and see what their style of horror is.
BTW it is a adaption to the book by Susan Hill so I guess you can read that first if you want.

True, but I'd still give it a chance...

I wanna go see it too. But I want someone to come with me cause even though it's rated PG-13, when they showed people actually watching it and they were screaming like they were watching Paranormal Activity, it made me wonder why they rated it 13 instead of R
But other than that I need someone to go with me cause scary movies will either scare me or make me laugh. Like I cringed when I watched Saw, but at the same time I kinda laughed every time someone died...is that wrong?
Anyway, I totally wanna see this movie. I wish Friday would hurry up and get here

Tomorrow's Friday, and this is at the top of my list.
Daniel Radcliffe's a great actor so I personally believe his reactions will make it scarier for the people watching it.

I think it sounds interesting, and it's another movie I have on my list of ones I should watch.
    But.
I have an awful feeling that, while watching it,Harry Potter related comments will appear in my head and instead of being scared,I shall be laughing my head off.
    Meh. Could be fun.

It didn't have any excessive gore or violence, it's mostly really creepy and atmospheric. I saw it on Friday and I thought it was pretty decent, I didn't get scared easily but there was one part that was like DAMN WHAT THE HELL lol

When i went to see it, the people in the theatre kept saying stuff like, "Harry potter use your wand!" and " Harry potter can't die!" lmao

I enjoyed/ didn't enjoy it. It was a good scary movie. Real dark, great horror movie. Hated the plot and how it ends. All I'm gonna say so I don't spoil it for anybody who plans on seeing it. If you've seen it, then you know what I'm talking about at the end of the movie. I give it a 8/10 because even though I didn't like it, it has a great horror movie.

I hated it. I really hated it but that was only because I don't do horrors. It's a great horror movie and really effective. I was gripping onto my seat/covering my face/closing my eyes and covering my ears a lot and still failed to miss any of the scary bits. That bit with the hand print really made me jump, especially since a girl directly behind me screamed. The ending was so bitter sweet, it's sad but when you think about it it couldn't really have ended suitably any other way. But yeah, it was a good film but I hated it.

It was pretty good, at first I kept comparing everything to Harry Potter probably because of the steam train and a few other things but after that I soon began to care for Radcliffe's character especially during the times he was at the house. As usual with most horror movies they try to apply jump scares which I'm getting sick off but at least they were quite effective especially in the rocking chair scene. I'm not spoiling anything about the ending but I thought that the 1989's ending was slightly better, even then it was still quite depressing.

The only thing I could say I really hated was that a bunch of kids in my theatre almost ruined my experience by screaming at the most inappropriate times. I really think they should have just gone with a 15 rating simply because of this.

    All of this, except about the 1989 ending (haven't seen that version). It was pretty good, and quite scary, as long as you're expecting it to be the kind of "jump out at you" scary, because that's what it is. There were a couple of people in the theatre expecting something different, I think, although I'm not sure how you could if you watched the trailers. I normally don't enjoy movies that rely on those types of scares, but this movie was quite well done in that respect. Not to mention all those old toys and such. aldkfjasldj so creepy. And they were real antique toys donated to the film by a collector, not made especially creepy for the movie. ;_;

I both loved and hated the last shot. The whole ending I found a bit predictable, having not even seen the original movie or read the book. If they just went home and all was well, it just wouldn't feel right. The last shot of the woman though. Holy asldkfjakghrw, creeped the **** right out of me, and I do not easily scare at stuff like that. Loved it.

And there were a bunch of 14 year-olds screaming bloody murder at freaking everything. >.< It wouldn't be so bad, except afterwards they would all giggle and go "ohmygodohmigod". A couple of people were like "hey, shut up" and they said "sorry", but that didn't stop them. Ugh.

Was pretty unimpressive, to be honest. Most horror movies nowadays are really not that good at inducing fear from me anymore, the movie wasn't scary. The plot was also kind of weak, I didn't realize the film was actually going to be over so soon, it felt like there should have been more.

Also I should probably mention that nobody would give a **** about this movie if Dan Radcliffe wasn't in it.

Horrible mistake you made right there.

The movie wasn't as "scary" as I thought.

I haven't read the whole thread, so you might have already seen it.

    IMO, it wasn't that great.

I haven't read all the thread, but I'm just throwing my two cents here.

This movie is fucking dark. From the opening where the little girls commit suicide (not really a spoiler, since it happens in the first few minutes) to the very bitter sweet ending. It all felt very depressing and I wasn't able to smile at all. Radcliffe was really good in his role, but there were times where his reactions just didn't seem right. I really blame the director on that. And I have no idea what kept him to stay in that house. There's other jobs out there man; that house is just filled with evil.

It wasn't that scary in the traditional sense, but it has the ability to haunt you.
