Just found out about this. Why does this guy need so many movies? He's already had one entirely about him, and yeah it was terrible, but another one is just overkill. It's obvious this is just another Fox money making machine. I don't like X-Men, but I've seen all of the films, and First Class was the only X-Men film that I liked, and Wolverine wasn't even a character in it.
The reason why there are so many movies about Wolverine is because he's pretty much the most iconic and well known character in the series, and might just be the most important (but that's up for debate). The first Wolverine movie was pretty decent in my opinion. Not as good as the others ('cept for Last Stand), but it was still entertaining at least. And they still need to tie up a few things in the Wolverine story, that's why they're making a sequel. It was obvious from the start. Personally, I'm looking forward to it. Love the character and the actor.
I understand he's the most popular, and it's probably my personal bias for not liking the character that causes this to annoy me so much, but it's hard for me to see this as anything other than an excuse for making money, rather than putting out a good film because there is a good story to tell. I think part of the reason for that is that Hugh Jackman is once again returning for Wolverine, and becasue of that it seems like there milking this character and actor for all they are worth and more so. I like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, but surely there are other people who could play the part as well, and since Origins is still in the back of my head, and since I liked First Class so much that it seemed like a step in the right direction, this seems like a step backward. Whatever, I'm not even an X-Men fan.
I'll watch it when it comes out just to see what Deadpool is like, and because an R rater super-hero movie would be interesting. I know nothing about Deadpool and I'm not really interested in the character either.
I was interested at first, back when Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a dream, Black Swan) was supposed to direct it. Now I' m just whatever, wait and see. Though I' d rather have a Wolverine sequel than his 100th needless origin story *cough* Superman *cough*, especially so shortly after his previous installment *cough* Spiderman *cough*. - Girls get all wet as soon as he pops up, they' re glad he skipped the ridiculous spandex. - He' s badass and funny, so boys don' t ***** about his lack of ridiculous spandex either. - Claws and regeneration don' t exactly involve crazy-ass CG, his powers are amongst the easiest to sell. Tony Stark works well for the same reasons, although his powers are a tad more difficult to convey. Even if they filmed those two just washing dishes for two hours people would still pay to see it.
Cat would go to every showing of the Tony Stark version and buy the Collector's Edition of the BluRay.
Because Origins sucked and he needs some kind of proper backstory movie, along with introducing a lot of new characters and telling us what happened when he went to Japan.
