Willis, some finance company, has bought a huge part of the Sears Tower, and the rights to name it were included in that part, so they're gonna rename it the Willis Tower and paint it silver. I think it's just B.S. no one has even heard of Willis, and it's such a stupid-sounding name for a building.
What a bunch of morons. I live in Chicago, and I'm still calling it the Sears Tower, same as I still call the State Street Macy's "Marshall Fields".
I didn't hear about this. This is like the renaming of the Delta Center to Energy Solutions Arena...it'll always be the Delta Center no matter what they change it to.
I hardly see how this affect anyone. I live in Chicago. I'll still call it Seres. I also call U.S. Cellular Field Komensky Park, And Macy's Feilds. Stroger Cook county.
That's stupid. It's like when I read once that PETA wanted to change the name of fish to sea kittens to try and stop people from eating them. You can change the name, but you can't change what people will call it. Of course, PETA lost.
What! Why did they decide to change the name to "the Willis" Tower? That is the stupidest name i have ever heard, why didn't they name it Barney tower instead?
oh... i didn't know, that would be awsome to just buy a really well known building and name it after myself..... thanks for telling me...!
