I WAS interested in the Vita, until Sony publicly announced they're dropping all software support in their part and relying on third parties. The Wii U still has a bit of life in it though. Like there are actually games for it I want already, and games coming soon, too. A lot oft he third party stuff is downright DIRT CHEAP, too.
Meanwhile PS4 and XB1 have nothing really on their forecast for the foreseeable future. By the time THEY build up a list of games worth getting the system for that I can't play better on my laptop for half the price... there's a pretty good chance there'll have been a price drop or an improved model released.
And I keep seeing similar sentiments being echoed across twitter and such. I doubt the Wii U will ever do GREAT, but it's starting to look like it might not be as horrible of a failure as it once was

Wii U's got the best known library, and that includes all the stuff that was shown at this year's E3.

I know folk are all, 'Wut? A Vita? lulz!' but I really love the wee thing. I play this thing more than another other game machine. Its just ashame that Sony is cut back on first-party games and focusing more on using it as a PS4 accessory.

That's the thing, I was on the brink of getting one, but that news pushed me right back. I want to play stuff like Muramasa and Persona 4, but I don't really want to get a system the company has all but admitted there will be no future for

Just so long as you don't go calling it next gen, like they did with this gens "next gen"-ness, you're all good.

This thread is a strange mix of dumb opinions and nice ones in almost every post.

I don't know why you guys feel the Wii U expectations need to be kept in check, the games coming out this year and next look superb and they haven't even used many of their franchises yet. Sure, they're blowing the smash bros load early, but who cares? Good games are good games, period. I'd much rather play Wonderful 101 than ACIV. And Pikmin 3 is still the most visually stunning game of the eighth gen consoles. I see more popular twitchers play multiplayer stuff like Monster Hunter and MK8 rather than Watch_Dogs or Dead Rising 3. It's confusing to me why people need to belittle the console before purchasing it. "I want it, but boy is it lesser than the console I already bought and don't play anymore but Wii U has those games I want to play too bad the gfz are lulz"

Why is it that when someone says something is more ____, it immediately means the other thing must not be _____. Like, sorry, but there were spots where I just sat in Pikmin 3 and just took everything in. There were times I grabbed the GamePad to zoom in on things and just marvel at them. They weren't detailed, but while playing the game I didn't care. It doesn't mean that KZ and Infamous aren't gorgeous, but boy are they not artistically appealing to me (never said "Pikmin 3 is the most visually brilliant game ever and you can't think otherwise"). Infamous is sure grey and KZ is sure blue and orange. I don't care for those things.

So yes, I find it does a lot with the art and it look brilliant. Like other games we still worship and say "this looks gorgeous" But boy, you get those stills and I'll take away those feelings and experiences I had.

My whole point isn't to debacle opinions with the two people who aren't nintendo fans and never will be, my whole point is why do I have to "accept" that the Wii U "isn't as a good" or "won't be as successful" before I can enjoy it? Ya'll are idiots if you think any of that even matters or effects how you play games. Console has games you like? Go buy it! Go play them! Go enjoy them! Go actually play the games you want instead of circle jerking your sales charts and pixel counters. You want a Vita? You think you'll get time out of the Vita even though it seems like there's "no games"? Go get a Vita. Enjoy your Vita. Don't belittle something you want to purchase by convincing yourself you're enjoying it in some form irony or temporary joy. That's freakin' dumb.

I'm not trying to take away from you appreciation of a game, but it's pretty narrow to single out one game "The most visually stunning game of the eighth gen consoles" with pure opinion and little to validate your statement other than your own positive feelings towards it.

Love a game sure, but when you say stuff like that, comes off a little close minded.[DOUBLEPOST=1405373546][/DOUBLEPOST]

    You're right, I made a booboo.

This was supposed to say "And I find that..." SOMEHOW I'm missing three words

Still, saying stuff like "this is funny", "let's show him screens to prove him wrong!".. Do you really need that much validation over a subjective manner? That comes off as a closed minded response in of itself.

I in no way wished for screens to prove you "wrong" on a subject that genuinely doesn't have a correct answer to it, as there's literally no real way to ascertain a "winning" game in visuals, when one uses a different style from another, it'd be like comparing Heavy Rain and Rayman Origins with Valkyria Chronicles, all very different styles.

What I opted for was a nice display of very visually striking images from our current generation of stellar games. There isn't malice in every action, Zack.
