"Don't damn it just because you can't use it well." he said. "Magic is a very useful tool."

 

Ireth smiled slowly. "Thanks... for the warning..." She was feeling kind of crowded, and couldn't take a step back, much to her dismay. She bit the inside of her cheek, thinking a way out. The shop keeper was busy, and she didn't know what else to say to these guys.

 

"I understand it...or most of it....but I hate when people use it to cheat..." she slowly took another step, then ran, her hair flying behind her. Her ankles still burned, but she ignored it. Eva would pay later, sure, but right now...she needed to escape.

 

"I can see you're uncomfortable." he said. "I'll leave and let you think my offer over." He wrote down where he lived and handed to her. "Come see me if you make up your mind." He then started heading out.

He followed behind her and said "I can heal you a bit, if that is what you wish."

 

Eva laughed, running faster. "Pain is a good teacher."

 

"It can also slow you down and kill you." he said.

 

"Huh...?" Ireth looked at the piece of paper, then back at Grey. Both were like trying to talk to her at once, ignoring the other. "Uuuuuh... thank you...? I guess I'll be heading out now. Thanks for the warning, and uh... for the address." She took her staff and headed out the back door of the shop. Phew, at least I'm finally getting away... That was slightly awkward.

 

Arwin headed home.

Eva shrugged, stopping under a tree. "Then it wasn't a good enough lesson." She winced, ignoring the angry welts on her feet. "I'm fine. Don't worry."

 

"Alright. But next time ask for my help. I could have easily dispatched him." he said.

 

Alexis sat lightly on the ground. "Well, what now?" he mused to himself silently with a smile on his face. He picked up his sword and used it as support to push him off the ground and started down a path with his sword, not caring where it lead.

 

Eva smiled, then slid down to the ground, sighing. "I will, don't worry." She looked up at the canopy of leaves overhead, smiling a little. "All this to protect a stranger?"

Ireth continued to walk, heading to her home. Maybe she should listen to that one guy... Which was the one that warned her again? She forgot. She sighed out frustratingly, getting a few stares from passersby. "What a wack up day today..."

 

"As I said, you remind me of when I was your age." he said.

 

Eva smiled, then reached up to the man. "My name is Evangeline, by the way."

 

He took her hand and said "Merlok."

 

Eva smiled and shook his hand. "I'm usually more polite then this..."
