3 hours prior to the outbreak of the Walking Plague.

"Currently a search time is searching the area for the suspect of this brutal murder. Residents are being advised to stay indoors and keep their doors locked. The suspect is not known to be armed. If you have any information, please contact-"

Scott muted the TV and picked up his pen and notebook as he wrote down the address of the victim and details surrounding the "murder". They called it cannibalism. It wasn't unheard of, Scott knew it was a very likely possibility but something told him that it was a much more serious threat. One policeman that appeared briefly was packing some firepower that was normally never seen. An assault rifle. It was hard to see since the man only appeared onscreen once for a short time but it was enough to raise a red flag. The victim was being taken to the hospital probably for an autopsy...but it could very easily be just being taken away for proper disposal.

'Better pay them a visit.' He rose to his feet and walked over towards the bookcase beside his TV. He pushed aside the (empty) bookcase quite easily to reveal a large maps with several articles and pins stuck to them. The top one was a world map while the lower one was a map of the city. In the city there was only one prior pin attached to it until now. The new mark was close to the downtown area where plenty of people could be found. 'Hm. It's still not worth calling this a Class One outbreak yet. At worst there's probably only one ghoul out there, two including the victim. Best case scenario is that it really was just some cannibal.'

Scott ran a hand through his black hair and sighed out. It was a depressing thought to feel that murder was a better alternative than the undead walking about nearby. Even after the First Outbreak he still had not reclaimed every shred of his sanity. Nightmares still haunted him but at least they were occurring with a lower frequency these days. Scott walked away from the maps, leaving them exposed as he went over towards his front door to leave his house. He felt that it would do him some good to take a walk to the hospital and even spend some time downtown rather than driving for business only. He was too tense. The fresh air would do him some good.

A loud sigh escaped Sienna lips as she chugged a large amount of water from her water bottle, her thirst finally being quenched. She drank a bit more before setting it down at the counter, putting the cap back on it before looking around the hospital she was in. She had a day off from school and ended up being called in to help out several nurses at the local hospital. Her sat at the counter, taking in patients while Sienna helped other nurses, occasionally taking blood, which was the only thing she was practically allowed to do. It was either that or file papers, she chose blood taking.

"If you're just going to stand there, why don't you help me with these papers?"

Sienna frowned and turned towards the counter, seeing her mother holding a folder filled with patient files. She smiled faintly before waving at her and taking one of the files on the counter. She quickly took off and headed towards one of the doctors that were supervising Sienna. She opened the folder and quickly noticed that this patient had a bite mark on his arm and a low fever. "That's odd," she muttered before handing the doctor the folder. "Patient has a bite mark and a fever of 99 degrees." The doctor nodded at her before the both of them entered the room, Sienna immediately noticing the man was shivering and holding a bloody cloth over his forearm.

"I'm Doctor Jones and this is my assistant, Sienna. How can we help you today?"

    "It came after me!"

The two quickly leaned back a bit by the sudden outburst, Sienna perking an eyebrow as she averted her gaze on the bloody cloth. The man began shouting about an animal-like thing biting off a large part of his arm, something that the two figured that it might have just been a large dog. The doctor removed the cloth and Sienna cringed, something she rarely did. The wound was rather large and they could clearly see part of the bone. The bitten area also looked as though it was infected. "That doesn't look as though it was a dog," Sienna said, turning her attention towards her supervisor.

"I agree. Get me several bandages and a sedative."

Sienna quickly nodded and went over to the drawers off to the side, taking out everything she needed before heading back to the patient and doctor. Sienna put on gloves and injected a sedative into the man so he'd calm down. She could feel the body heat coming from him and noticed he was beginning to sweat. Her eyes narrowed as she quickly took his temperature, seeing it had risen from 99 degrees to 101. "I think he should be admitted." She turned her attention towards the doctor who had briefly looked up at Sienna before going back and cleaning out the gash. "Go ahead and work with other patients. I'll finish with him." Sienna opened her mouth to speak but quickly closed it before nodding her head and walking over to the door. She momentarily looked over at the patient and the doctor before heading out of the room. She wasn't sure why, but she felt slightly uneasy.

trisha was kneeling in the backyard, tending to her garden. Her parents were both at work and they were expecting her to have filled out a stack of college applications before they returned. The papers were still sitting on the kitchen table, waiting to be taken care of. she hated filling out application after application. The one school she wanted to attend, her parents didn't approve of. It wasn't elite enough for them. trisha had already mailed in the application weeks ago and was only applying to the other schools to humor them.

She had decided to take a break. Her garden was filled with a variety of plants. One-third of it was vegetables, another was flowers, and the last was a crazy assortment of plants. Their backyard looked like a forest with all of the foliage about. Her forehead dripped with sweat as she pulled the gloves off of her hands. It was a hot day for the beginning of may and her knees were stained black from the dirt in the garden. Trisha turned off the radio that had been playing music while she worked, to head back inside. She climbed up the stairs to turn on the shower and let the room fill with steam. She pulled her black hair out of the pony it had been in and tried to brush through it.

Wandering around his home, Tye wondering what he was going to do Today. He flipped through some channels on the tv, realizing there was nothing interesting on. He flips past a channel that was talkin about cannibalism, and continue pasting through channels. He then realize that most of the channels that were talking about cannibalism were the news channels.

"Weird, I wonder what going on....." Tye said to himself.

Tye picked up his phone, went through his contacts, down to Zack and dialed his number. It ring then went straight to voicemail. Tye tried again, same thing again: Voicemail.

Tye questioned himself "Where would he be, If hewasn't answering?" Tye thought about then it dawned on him..
    "Gym....duh...."

Tye grabbed his motorcycle gear and headed towards the door, grabbed his keys and the door. He walked down to his Garage, got equipped, and hopped on his motorcycle and drove to the gym. On his way there 3 ambulance flew by him while stopped a red light.

"Dang this canniblism thing must be serious ....."

He looked to the right and left of him. He stared at the left a person was sprinting toward him he continued to stare, until a loud honk came from behind him. He look up and saw the light change green. He drove off thinking to himself.

"That was weird never seen that before sprinting like a lion at something.... hmm......"

"Alright, we're here, time to get out. And don't try anything slick, kid."
Jesse glared at the police officer who held the patrol car door open for him, and nodded slowly. He carefully shifted and moved out of the car, trying not to show any signs of aggression. The building they were parked in front of had a large rusty metal sign above its front doors that read 'Arthur Long Juvenile Detention Center'. Jesse couldn't help but smile a little, thinking of the dozens of other times he had stood in front of this sign, beside a cop, handcuffs around his wrists.
"You think this is a joke, punk?" the police officer asked sternly, noticing Jesse's smirk. "You're here for at least a good 6 months. I'll let the staff know how happy you are to be here, they'll wipe that smile right off your ugly face. Now get movin'!"
Jesse narrowed his eyes at him, spit at his shiny black boots, and proceeded into the building. He didn't know it yet, but the months that followed wouldn't be like the many other times he had been sentenced to this place. This time, his life was going to change entirely.

    "J-Jesse...Jesse...?"
The soothing voice saying his name awoke him from his flashback. He blinked a few times, then looked around the room. The teal pinstripe walls surrounded him as he lay on the gray couch. Just a few feet away sat a red haired woman at her desk with a clipboard in hand, trying to get his attention.
"Uh, yeah, sorry about that, Miss. I guess I dozed off there for a minute." Jesse said, rubbing his eyes and sitting up. "What were we talkin' about?"
The psychiatrist sighed and gave her patient a sweet smile. "That's quite alright. But I was just asking you to recall your final stay at Arthur Long Juvenile Detention Center for me. I understand you have a lot of trouble talking about it, though, so take your time."
Jesse nodded, and bowed his head, staring at his feet. "Well, y'know...it was just different. All the other times I went there it was like a vacation. But not this time."
    "Why's that?"
"Cuz..." he swallowed and took a deep breathe. "There were these dudes there. Some guys I knew back from my neighborhood. Their crew had problems with mine back then, and we were always competing to sell drugs, and even getting in fights from time to time. But anyway, they recognized me right when I got there, and when they did, they knew I was gonna be their b*tch. I mean, sorry for the language, Miss."
"That's not a problem. Please, continue."
"Well, basically, they just made it hell for me. I swear, there were some days when the guards weren't watching they'd beat me so bad...I wasn't sure I was gonna live...but that's not even the worst part..."
"What do you feel was the worst part about your stay there?"
"The worst part was that...I didn't know. I didn't know I wasn't gonna see my mom...ever..." he froze up and his hands began to shake.
Ms. Valerie put a caring hand on Jesse's knee. "It's okay, Jesse. Let it out."
"No, I can't." he stood up quickly and grabbed his jacket from the coat hanger by the door. "I gotta go, Miss. I'll see you next week."
Jesse rushed out of the building, got in his car, and started driving back to the auto-shop where he worked with his cousin. These therapy sessions always left him like this, anxious and depressed. Maybe if he took the rest of the day easy at work, it would get his mind off everything.

trisha climbed out of the shower pleased to no longer be covered in dirt and sweat. She wrapped the towel around her body as her hair hung wet, dripping at her shoulders. She walked into her bedroom turning in the television. All the news stations had been blowing up with some story about cannabalism, but she thought it was ridiculous. Nobody actually did that kind of thing, unless they were on some strange tropical island. trisha ignored the reports and flipped through the channels until she found a nature documentary. It was something about desert wildlife. The television played in the background as she got dressed. She slipped on a pair of jeans and a button-up blouse. Trisha tucked the shirt into her pants and put on a pair of leather boots. She heard her dog kickers barking out on the front lawn and hurried down the stairs to check on him.

"Look, John, it's just for the weekend. No, I'm not getting a hotel room, it's my own goddamn house!" Adam was obviously angry, but he was trying to restrain himself as he drove. It was bad enough that he was on the phone, but having an argument on it while driving? He deserved a ticket. "Joh-John...John, JOHN! LET ME FREAKIN' SPEAK!" He yelled once more, swerving his green mustang around another car -not cutting the other car off, but switching lanes to avoid hitting it- and laid off the gas a bit. "I'm taking one weekend. One isolated, single, sole weekend off. No school, no work. And how am I spending it? By getting the rest of my stuff out of my own house because someone decides to sell it without telling the son of the woman who bought the damn thing." At that point, Adam rolled the steering wheel to the right, getting onto the exit ramp of the interstate, and started to slow down. "But-no, let me speak, John. I'm over the fact that you sold the house without telling me. I'm over the fact that I'm not seeing one single dime of the money. But I'm not driving 7 hours today to get my stuff and then 7 hours tonight. I'll use the weekend to pack and my roommates are coming on Sunday, on their way back from their homes, to help me move. You can put up with me for one weekend." As his stepfather continued to yell mundane reasons for why Adam shouldn't be allowed to sleep in his childhood home, the college student flipped his turn signal on and turned. "What's the big-YOU DID WHAT TO MY ROOM? WHY THE HELL DO YOU EVEN NEED A PERSONAL GYM?!" Another turn and he was halfway there. "Abs? To tone your abs? JOHN, YOU ARROGANT IDIOT, YOU HAVE THE WORST BEER BELLY I'VE EVER HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF SEEING!!" Adam sighed as John yelled back, talking about some new diet or something. "Fine, I'll crash on the couch! I'll see you when you get off of work." And without giving him a chance to respond, Adam ended the call and tossed the phone to the passenger seat. "Psh, abs. Can't turn a keg into a six pack that easily, John."

'Paycheck comes tomorrow.' Scott reminded himself mentally as he stared through the dusty glass window of the downtown "gun shop". Scott had already buried several firearms far away in the isolated safe-house he had been preparing and just needed to restock on weapons for his own house. The owner of the shop was someone he knew quite well with all the purchases he had made by now. The man was a good and honest person...and was completely nuts. This was coming from someone who had survived a Class Three outbreak and had grown a severe case of paranoia from the event.

He took in a deep breath and stepped away from the shop window, briskly walking by with his hands stuffed in his pockets as he headed towards the hospital which he felt that the victim may have been transported to(assuming, again, that the body wasn't cremated by now). Even with walking as fast as he did it still took him quite a while before he made it to the front doors.

"Excuse me, has anyone come in through here recently?" Scott asked the receptionist, pointing towards the hanging TV at the corner of the room which was playing the news story of the recent murder. "You see, the victim was a family friend of mine and-"

"I'm sorry for your loss, but no. He hasn't been taken to this hospital."

'It was the closest to the victim's house by at least a mile. Traffic couldn't have been that bad either.' Scott wasn't sure whether or not to believe the receptionist but he decided to have a quick look around. ...For the sake of his sanity. "Well, thank you. I'll be on my way." He stepped back and headed off away from the desk, intending to find someone else who could verify that there really wasn't a half-eaten body being taken around the hospital.

After zack decided that 20 laps around the track was a good warm up, he decided to go hit the weights up."Let's see, which do I wanna do first?"Surveying all the different equipment the gym had, he decided to do the Leg Press first, and then the leg curls."Gotta get these legs into shape. They starting to look flabby." He went over to the closest open leg press machine there was and wiped it down with the sanitizer wipes that are on all the machines. He might have been teh first guy in the gym today, but he never works out on a machine that he hasn't wiped down first. After he wipes down the machine, he gets on it and starts at it."1.......2......3.....4.......5, gotta....6.....get.....7..to.....8.......25....9."

trisha found kickers chained up on the front lawn. She looked around, expecting to see something, but there was nothing there. "what are you barking at?" most of the neighborhood disliked her dog because of it's size. This was an area filled with small prize winning lap dogs, which clashed with her doberman. the neighbor lady next door was constantly calling the police, claiming the dog was violating noise ordinances. If they received another phone call kickers would have to have his vocal cords removed. "kickers, you know you can't just be barking for no reason. Let's go for a walk." she went inside to grab his leash and then came back out and unhooked his chain. They headed towards town, leaving their housing developement behind.

Jesse pulled up to J&D AutoRepair, the local mechanic shop that he ran with his cousin Derrick, and took his usual employee parking spot. As he went to cut the power in the ignition, he hesitated, then stopped. It was barely 5:30 and already he was exhausted.
"I hope this b*stard is closing up early" he muttered. Suddenly, Derrick appeared strutting out of the shop towards Jesse's car with an ear-to-ear grin. "Speak of the devil..."
One of the many strange things about Derrick was that he was practically Jesse's twin. The only difference you could tell between the two of them was that Derrick had dark brown hair and was taller than his younger cousin by an inch or two. He was currently sporting his usual work attire: a tight, black, men's tank-top, some ripped up Levi jeans, and a pair of black-and-white Chuck Taylors. "Well look who's here early! The psycho! How's therapy treatin' ya? Better not be crying in there like last time."
Jesse was used to his cousin's insensitive remarks, it was a part of his sense of humor. After all, how could he take it seriously when it was Derrick who cared for him all this time and provided him with everything he needed to start a new life?
"Nah, no tears this time." he replied, rolling down the window. "Left early, though. Today just doesn't feel good, so I didn't really wanna stick around."
"Punk ass" Derrick chuckled, walking around the car and sitting in the passenger seat. "I didn't sign you up for these so you could skip 'em, y'know. I signed you up for 'em cuz you're all f***ed up in the head." He flicked Jesse in his right temple.
Jesse laughed a little then raised the radio volume and started switching through different stations. At one point they listened in on some news about some kind of cannibalistic murder. They exchanged disgusted looks and changed the station to some heavy metal one. As he rested his head and closed his eyes, the lyrics sunk deep into Jesse's mind:

"Repent! Repent! The end is nigh!
Repent! Repent! We're all gonna die!"

Tye finally reached the gym. He turn off his motorcycle, took off his helmet, and walked in.

"Hey Jerry, how's it going ...?"
"Could better like always, and yes Zack is here, by the way have you heard about what's going on outside?"
"Ummm.... kinda, but I have no idea what's really going on, do you?"
"I hear it's the govermnents fault...."
"Right...don't you know it's always the government's fault."

They both laught and Tye walked towards the changing room then turned around and said.

"Oo.. hey Jerry wanna sign me in please?"

Jerry just nod, Tye had changed into his work out attire, black shoes, black shorts and no top. He plugged up his headphones to his IPOD and decided to do jump with jump ropes for a warm up.

Sienna continued taking in patients while her supervisor took care of the man with the large gash on her arm. She hadn't been at the hospital for long, but she was already beginning to feel tired. Then again, she wasn't surprised. Sighing quietly, finished with one last patient, taking them to a room where one of the doctors will treat them. Closing the door behind her, she placed the patient folder in a plastic container that hung against the wall right by the door.

"Sienna? What're you doing here? You're supposed to be on break."

Sienna turned around to see one other med student she knew. She opened her mouth to speak but quickly closed it, looking down at the watch on her wrist. She bit down on her lip and laughed nervously as she returned her attention towards the student. "I guess I forgot." The girl shook her head before taking off, Sienna doing the same. She hadn't realized it, but she was rather hungry, and she was even more surprised she didn't hear her stomach growl while she was working. It would have been embarrassing if it was in front of a patient, but at least it would have reminded her she needed to eat. Now her main priority was to eat so she could function the rest of the day.

"....23.......24....2-...5."Zack slowly lowered the weights with his legs so he make a loud noise. He slowly sat up and started breathing hard. He sat there for a couple of minutes trying to control his breathing before he got up, fearing he might get light headed. He picked up his water and took a small swig of water, swished it around in his mouth and then finally swallowed it. He got up, and got one of the sanitizer wipes from the stand closest to him and wiped all of this sweat off the machine. He decided to hit the punching bag next, give his legs a rest for a bit. On his way to the room where the ring, and the bags were, he saw Tye jump roping, and went into the room he was in."Sup buddy, I thought you had stuff to do today? He said to Tye.

trisha walked the streets, being drug along by kickers. He was a large doberman and had a lot more power than she did. She waved occasionally to other passerbies, but mostly just tried to keep from being pulled down face first. "kickers slow down. My arm doesn't stretch that far." talking to him did nothing and she could quickly feel her energy being leeched away. Trisha passed some walkers chatting about the cannabalism murders and couldn't help but perk her ears. It seemed to be all people were talking about. Hopefully it would faze out soon. She didn't like hearing all that morbid murder talk, especially one of this nature. "kickers, let's head back." she pulled on his leash and whistled while she turned back in the other direction.

Tye heard his name and slowly bounce around to see who it was, but he had already knew who called his name.

"Hey... and nah man told you about the girlfriend break up........."

He took a deep breathe while still jumping and started talking again.

"Remember...... She dumped me becuase I'm Heartless...... I called you twice but since you... Didn't answer I asssumed you where here....."

Tye finally realize he had lost count and did 23 more jumps and stopped. He inhaled in and held it, then slowly let the breathe escape.

"Wanna spare with me... If not I'll get Jerry to...."

"Yeah actually, I was just on my way to the bags when I saw you in here. I'm gonna go on ahead to the ring and start getting my gear on. After we spar, I need help with my kicks. Wanna help me with that?" Zack said as he was watching Tye doing his jumps."And sorry to hear about the break up again. Free man now though. Time to go out and party! You, Me, This weekend. Were gonna hit the bars. And there's no way out of it, were going."Zack said excitedly.

Tye looked at Zack, then smirked.

"Let's work on your kicks first, then we will spar with the new kicks, how's that ?

He felt alittle winded then stood striaght up then caught his balance. He looks at Zack telling him he's fine.

"Been out of it for a week but I'm fine really, let's start though kicks."

"Here we are..." Adam sighed he pulled into his old driveway. As he uncranked the car, he wondered how long he had until John got home from work. "It's going to be a long weekend," he grumbled as he left rested his head on the steering wheel. He closed his eyes for a moment; he did just finish a seven-hour drive after all. Before he knew it, five minutes had passed. Then ten. The world outside ceased to exist and so did his thoughts, if only for a few minutes. Waking back up, the college student leaned back, blinking rapidly. He pulled his keys out of the ignition and opened his door, stepping out into the light. Another sigh. Adam laid eyes on his old house. It was small, only one story high, but it had been spacious enough for his mother and him. Two bedrooms and a den, where he studied and she worked. Then John came into the picture. The den became a hunting room, deer heads and guns lining the room, cabinets holding ammo and various other hunting materials. "No, not now. Good thoughts, Adam. Just for one weekend," he whispered to himself. He shut his door and sighed again. He studied his house carefully and smiled solemnly. "I'm home, Mom."
