i'm not really sure, it really is hard to say. we can make guesses though. I would assume that the soul is who you are, or the image of who you are. nobodies are the body and soul, but nobody's don't have a real personality. they are an image of their former self. It's strange that they don't look identical to their former self considering that they have the body of their former self. I suppose that bodies do not take an exact shape... it really is difficult to say, but I would think that personality would be within the heart. after all, personality is very dependent on a person's emotions.

but anyway, by looking at nobodies, I would say that the body is just a vessel that takes a shape depending on the heart and soul. the soul would be who you are, in other words, it would be your self or sense of self. this could explain why nobodies have memories. I've always wondered why they have them. CoM stated that they lay within the heart, but perhaps they make an imprint on the soul as well. the heart is a whole bunch of things. that is where a person's strength comes from.

This is me trying to be a bit creative and loose with the meaning of the Unbirth emblem.

Perhaps these beings, being the precursor to the Heartless and Nobodies and being extinct by the end of the Birth by Sleep era, are experimentations of Master Xehanort when the natural darkness (not the manifestation of the darkness of people's hearts but rather that of the Realm of Darkness) has contact with the light of the Realm of Light. These beings could have no memories of their true selves yet maintaining a heart, body and soul in the most part making them mindless, servient, and thus lacking emotions. The less memories you have of your true self, the closer you steep into the darkness or vice versa can be applied as well.

Perhaps the bluer part of the emblem symbolizes the Unbirths whose memories are still intact while the darker part represents the ones who had lost sight of who they are.

They have everything that a heart except the memories by which to remember and feel.

It's a bunch of bull but it's what I think the Unbirths are, creatures without memories.

hmmm.... interesting thoughts, but how does that make them the opposite of a human life? cause that's what they are said to be.

I like this theory, it seems pretty plausible actually. There is definately a light theme going on with the whole thing. Maybe Unbirths are light AND dark beings (heartless/nobodies are only dark beings), since you can see the top of the symbol a light blue color and the bottom getting darker and darker until it reaches black.
