"Hm Ok." Xegreny said hopping out of the Wagon.

 

"that wagon had explosives strapped under it..." Saak whispered to them
"it seems our Friend Lu Ten is ready to take us out at any minute"

 

"I knew it!" Vexneah yelled.

 

"Oops!" Xegreny said blasting the reins to the horses and kicking the wagon to its side. "Now how did those explosives get there?" he asked.

 

Wing folded his arms and then created a wind Barrier around the grup, locking Lu Ten in with them with no place to run.

"Explain now." He said angrly

 

"the Air Army must have planted them during the attack..." Lu Ten said, rubbing his head

 

"A likely story!" Vexneah said angrily.

 

"We didnt have a wagon before the attack." Xegreny said calmly.

 

"well... I... I just saw it and thought it could help us!" Lu Ten said "anyway, lets get going.."

 

Wing Whistled and Foux appeared on his arm.

"Hey Foux, could you scout ahead for us and see if there are any soldiers?" FOux gave his reply and flew off ahead of the group.

"Alright Lu Ten, we want the truth. Also, i Want to know wht you put in my hand this morning."

 

"Yeah. Your hesitation to show me that document was unnessicarry. If it had been signed there was nothing I could have done." Xegreny said.

 

"Sorry about that..." Vexneah murmured.

 

Lu Ten grunted "you already know as much as I know..." he said...

 

"Dont worry about it." Xegreny said. "I doubt that." Xegreny said addressing Lu Ten.

 

"whatever, I dont have time, lets get to the city..." Lu Ten said, walking off in the city's direction...

 

Xardius sat in the cool forest glade that he had warped to earlier that day. He sat there, his eyes closed, peaceful.

The glade was the one untouched part of an otherwise completely ravaged world that had once been known as Larenska.

Xardius put that out of his head. Larenska was here...Larenska would be restored very soon. If only...

He nearly jumped out of his skin when he felt another person approaching. He snapped his eyes open, and cursed himself mentally for leaving his sword and armor by another tree, nearly ten feet away.

Twisting, he saw it was Marlene. He felt tension ease out of him at her presence. Strange that he should trust her so completely when he hardly knew her...but that's not the way it felt.

Marlene strode forward. "Your friends need your help."

"Where?"

"Where you left them."

"Right.........That's the only reason you came here?"

Marlene sighed and moved close to him. "Yes...and no. The Brotherhood is hunting you...and the others."

"How do you know?" Xardius asked, beginning to put on his armor.

Marlene didn't answer. "I trust you, you know," Xardius said after a moment. "Don't betray me."

Marlene turned away and walked away. Xardius stared after her for a second, then opened a portal and stepped through to see the group.

"Great..." he muttered.

 

"well what ever you may be or not be up too, i have a feeling that this trip to the city will be pretty enlightening. By the looks of this place, I'd say we're heading for the Air countries Capital. That's where Vecked rules."
