The Ultimate Organization III

"I don't think you understand," Xane said, shaking his head. "It's more powerful than you think. I wouldn't care if you had the best scientists of all three systems! All the Virus would do is free itself, kill you all, and start causin' havok everywhere!"

 

"We know the Virus has a mind, a small one, maybe, but a mind none the less. To capture it, we need it contained. You've done that for us, when we want to use it, we just need to placate it." Skinnar explained.

 

"You're just underestimating it," Xane said. "It needs to be destroyed, not used as a damn weapon!"

 

"And what other option do we have!" Skinnar yelled, "Through this we have peace. The military can't do this anymore... Ulfire can't, the Brotherhood can't. War is no long an option, so we need a reason for peace... we need protection, Sora is weak. We will be invaded if we don't do something, the Gran Aigo of the Sora System is down our throats! I'm out of options! I don't want my brother to die! I would prefer if you freaks could stay alive as well, but its not my call. Its a vote now, the only way Sora can remain complete and in peace is if the U.P.A. gets that Virus..."

 

"...Does any of that really make any sense to you?" Xane asked. " 'Cause if it does, I'm startin' to doubt your sanity. Even if you do make the Virus into the U.P.A's personal weapon, once you release it, it'll have another chance of escaping!"

 

"We won't have to! Its politics, Xane!" Skinnar said, "Its protection. It'll keep let us rebuild so in twenty years when we may start having wars again we can take care of it without the Virus!"

 

"But, it's..." Xane started. "I guess there's no convincing you, then. You're not gettin' the Virus. Now, get that gun outta my face."

 

'I don't like this situation, either. But at least I recognize what is necessary to save Sora..." Skinnar replied. "Keep a few snipes on them... I'm going to search the area," Skinnar said to his guards...

 

Xane walked back inside the base with Mellodia, keeping an eye on the U.P.A guards.

OOC: Gotta go.

 

"Skinnar, wait a second," Xardius said, finally moving and walking forward. "You're telling me you only want the Virus to ensure the safety of the Sora system?"

 

"Of course we do!" Skinnar yelled, "Ulfire will use it for an invasion, Brotherhood will use it for an invasion. We are open for the taking. The Sora System has just gone through two years of hell. Our culture has been almost completely destroyed because we have been spending all our money on our guns! And now our guns are getting low, and we don't have enough money or resources to make new ones... We need protection while we build ourselves back up. We need the Virus... in any form."

 

Xardius sighed. "Skinnar...Why don't you just ask us? The Ultimate Organization? We'll fill in for the Virus..."

He held up a hand. "I have three reasons why..."

"One, you've already proved that you can't hang onto the Virus," Xardius said. "Not to be rude or anything, but you've had it stolen several times. Two, we've defeated the Virus in battle. That means we have more raw power than the Virus does. And three, you won't have to worry about us trying to kill you. The Virus will take any opportunity it can get to strike back at its captors, and if your control slips for one moment, you'll die."

He dropped his hand. "You don't have to make the decision right now... But we can be that power you need."

Xardius shrugged and started walking off.

OOC: Started so if Skinnar wants to reply...

 

"Are you people honestly that self centered. Your pathetic organization hasn't stayed alive all these years because of its power, its stayed alive because of its power and its size!" Skinnar replied. "Its very good for a such a small group, a group that can easily slip through enemy hands... but its not good enough for these problems."

"Its true," Vecked muttered. "The UO isn't a superpower. We couldn't kill the Virus in battle, we just exploited its weak point for maximum damage... and through that we managed to capture it."

 

Xardius looked back over his shoulder at Skinnar and Vecked. "One day, I'd like to show you two what power really is."

Then he was gone, walking inside the building and out of sight.

OOC: Probably going to the bathroom. Characters have to some time, right?

 

Xane was snoring in a cot, apparenttly trying to get a nap in, before facing the Brotherhood. Mellodia pulled a blanket over him and prepared to contact Venture, who was gathering the EK army's mechanics.

 

Vecked nodded, before turning back to Skinnar. "Rentu, we don't have your Virus. We've lost it."

"I highly doubt that, Trog..." Skinnar replied. "My men are searching the area, and we will find it. I promise you."

"The fleet that left, its a supply fleet headed for the Dark Worlds. It has food, water purification packs, a few grain generators, first aid, the works. If you delay it people will die. Let it go on its course, please. Don't let more die," Vecked said.

Skinnar grunted, before muttering "Let it go," into his communicator.

"Thank you, sir," Vecked said. "Now, I assume your here about your dead man."

"My dead man?" Skinnar replied.

"Mor, the special effects man," Vecked explained.

Skinnar raised an eyebrow, "What?"

Vecked scratched his chin, "You still are the Commander-in-chief of the Sora System, the Gran Hairis of the U.P.A., right? Odd that you, orbiting our location, would not be the first to know of an expensive hitman's death."

"What are you talking about?" Skinnar asked.

Vecked smiled, "Your not in control of your army, are you? Has Ulfire taken over the U.P.A.? Or has Cotaxus found something he can blackmail Rentu Skinnar with?"

Skinnar paused.

"So it's Cotaxus, eh?" Vecked pulled his pistols out and shot the two guards behind Skinnar, and then the two nearby U.P.A. snipers.

 

At the sound of gunshots, Xane instantly woke up, running outside. Seeing the two UPA snipers fall to the ground, he asked, "Did they attack us or somethin'?"

 

OOC: Plot movement...after so long...

BIC: Xardius went back to watching the mechanics work, but he soon fell asleep too. Though he didn't snore.

 

"I don't think Skinnar has any bigger guns in space, no blockade of our exit route. I say... we take em' on, wipe em' out, and steal there ships!" Vecked explained, "I attacked cause' Skinnar will soon turn violent unless we showed him the Virus, I thought... might as well get the first shot, right?"

Vecked suddenly flew backward, his hand over his shoulder. "Oh god, I'm hit."

Skinnar smiled from behind the building he had used for cover. A direct hit. "You trogs shouldn't of attacked!" He yelled, firing at the downed Vecked...
