The Ultimate Organization III

Xane followed.

"What's goin' on?" he asked. "It'd help if we knew what was coming!"


OOC: What's goin' on? It'd help if we knew what was cong!

 

OOC: How should I know what's coming? I have no idea...Nope, not a clue...

BIC: Tera Roth shook his head. "You think I'd be able to pick out the gritty details from a presence I only vaguely feel? I have no idea what's coming, but the waves of hostility are pounding into me like waves on a beach. Whatever it is, it isn't happy, and I don't think anything with that much hate will be easy to bring down..."

 

"Whatever," Xane said. "Tell me when something actually attacks us."

 

Like a thousand flutes playing on the wind, the melody trickled through the forest to play on Tera Roth's and Xane's ears.

The music was so relaxing, so soothing, so friendly. Tera Roth found himself just wanting to lie down and go to sleep, and from Xane's wobbling, it was evident he felt the same.

The music was so beautiful that Tera Roth didn't even notice the monster appearing from the trees, the bones on its back whistling the tune he was hearing.

Four huge arms spread from a muscular body, predatory eyes and a mouth full of sharp teeth. Each hand ended in a spectacularly long, curved, and sharp dagger. It stood as if hunched, long bones protruding from its back like spines, with holes in them to play the melody of its victim's deaths.

Deathly silent except for the music, the monster moved forward.

 

Xane yawned. He felt like he wanted to lie down, but didn't. Something was up.


OOC: Geez, maybe we should just kick Tera Roth out. First mutant kids, and now this...XP. This isn't even really important, is it?

 

Tera Roth fell asleep...

The monster ate him...

OOC: Is that what you want?

BIC: Or so Tera Roth dreamed. He woke with a start as the monster's maw reached down, for one instant, the sound of the growled anticipation drowning out the sound of the music.

Tera Roth's sword cut the monster's head off, and it fell to the ground, shuddering.

"What?" Tera Roth muttered... "A monster...?"

More music filled the grove. Tera Roth hurriedly shoved his fingers in his ears, and ran in the building, grabbing earmuffs and running out, shoving them over himself and Xane's ears. He could still hear the music, but it was muted.

"This is just a byproduct of the hate," Tera Roth yelled. "It's like these monsters are being mutated by the very presence of what is coming...like the Virus, only...different."

 

OOC: I was just joking. I just meant that while Tera Roth's been tagging along, random attacks seem to increase forty percent.

BIC: "What?" Xane asked. "What did it mutate from? Can't we just hit it 'til it dies?"

 

OOC: Tera Roth is my random *insert what you want to randomly generate* generator.

Or something like that...It's not really his fault. I'm just trying to come up with something to fill in while we mush our way along with the plot...

BIC: Tera Roth shook his head. "I don't know. But..."

More monsters appeared, and they charged as one, silently.

"I don't think these monsters were monsters a minute ago," Tera Roth finished, leaping up and stabbing one of the monsters in the eye. The monster grunted and died.

 

"Well ,they're mortal, at least," Xane stated, lifting a monster over his head and tossing it on top of another in a sort of pile. "What do you think they were? Humans?"

 

Suddenly, a massive wave of the creatures rolled out of nowhere, crushing each other, trees, their music playing desperately. Tera Roth paled.

"I think they were ants," Tera Roth said. "From an ant hill."

He raised his sword pitifully as the monsters rolled towards him (literally), but suddenly his eyes widened.

The "ants" ripped apart in a bloody spray, exploding and falling to pieces where they stood. Their blood rained down onto Xane and Tera Roth, who looked nauseous for a moment, and on the third human who stood in their midst.

Or was it human?

Tera Roth could tell: this was the source of all that hate.

Mordeth strode forward, the grass dying at his feet, the daylight seeming to dim around him. Behind him, the grass turned carnivorous, strangling each other's blades until, tied together, they died.

"Ah, the Ultimate Organization," Mordeth said. "You have something that belongs to the Ulfire System, I believe. My master wants it back."

 

"Brotherhood, right?" Xane asked, cracking his knuckles. "And what exactly do you do?"

 

OOC: Sorry.

BIC: Mordeth shook his head. "You're too simple-minded. I'm working for the Ulfire system."

He extended a hand. "Give me the Virus. Now."

 

"No," Xane said, simply. "Now, go back home. You've wasted your time trying to get here and order us us around."

 

Tera Roth opened his mouth. "Uh..."

Mordeth's eyes narrowed. "Then you will pay the consequence."

Xane was suddenly flying through the air to smash against the UPA building. Tera Roth stared.

"Uh..." he said.

Mordeth looked at him. "Die."

Tera Roth crumpled.

 

OOC: Mordeth? Anyway, whats going on?

 

OOC: We're getting beaten' up by this guy from the Ulfire sysyem, who'd like the Virus back.

BIC: Xane fell through a wall into a filing room. Xane slowly got up, pushing a file cabinet off of his leg. "I don't know who you think you are, but...What the hell?" Xane shouted, catching a glimpse of Mordeth causing Tera Roth to fall over.

 

"Who the hell are you?" Nulix yelled.

 

OOC: Sorry I'm so slow...My computer's wheezing...

BIC: Mordeth chuckled, and the plants around him wilted black, and crumpled to ash. "I am death itself."

From his side, unnoticed before, he drew a pitch black rapier that seemed to suck in the light. "Or, as you prefer, I am the untouchable essence of the end of a life, whether it be physically dying or the end of a stage of life, or the end of an era. Corruption, war, and genocide all breathe of me."

 

Nulix paused, before bursting out in laughter. What the man said was worth a chuckle, but Nulix was practically dying of laughter. To unnatural lengths of laughter. Just to give the man an ego deflation. "Oh god, death itself," Nulix muttered slowly, "Alright, lets beat this boy down, guys."

 

Mordeth just smiled. The ground seemed to be writhing away from his feet.

He raised a hand and a bug near Nulix's head exploded, sending a blast of air, guts and sound that threw him to the ground. The blast didn't seem to have any other effect other than leaving him with a ringing in his ear and dizzy, but...

Mordeth walked forward, the ground seeming to groan in agony.

Tera Roth looked up. "Um, I'm not dead..."

He tripped Mordeth and gasped in pain as his leg turned black where he'd touched the man.

Still, Mordeth fell to the ground with a painful grunt, his sword ending up in his stomach. He disappeared rather quickly.

"Urg," Tera Roth groaned, grabbing his leg. "What...is this? Nulix, you all right? Xane?"
