"It'll never be tamed," Xane said. "The only thing that could remotely calm it was the fourth god. And he's dead, too. If you do anything with it, you could end up killing us all."

 

"My money," Tera Roth repeated, the soot going everywhere as he coughed again.

 

"Neigh," Cortaxus replied, "We can control. Or rather, we can bargain with it. The Virus is intelligent, we've done research. It appears to understand us at times, to listen. And... it also can speak. A mister Tui Raijin is the only living man who has ever heard the Virus's voice, but it can speak, it can communicate. Thus it can be reasoned with."

 

"Alright, one person," Xane said. "And you do know that Tul Raijin has dealt directly with the god's before? You guys haven't. We've got to get a rid of this thing."

 

Cortaxus raised an eyebrow, "Don't you know who we are? We are the goddamn U.P.A., we don't need gods, we are the leading in the whole universe when it comes to technology. Besides, the Virus will speak to us if we have it to the knife, eh?"

 

"Sorry," Xane shrugged. "You're not goin' to get it."

 

"Nulix, control your friend or your U.P.A. contract is terminated," Cortaxus muttered. Nulix turned to Xane and smiled, "Maybe we should do what they say, man."

 

Xane frowned at them for a second, then looked towards the others. "You decide what to do then, Nulix."

 

Nulix looked down, "Look man. A while back a made a deal with the U.P.A., two credit cards with close to three hundred thousand dollars on them, one for me and one for Bella. She'll only get hers after the U.P.A. finishes relations with me, so... you know, financial security for me and Bella. I care about her, you know. Maybe we should... just hand it over."

 

Xane looked around the room and sighed. He then slowly nodded.

"We better not regret this," Xane said.

 

"You will," Vecked muttered, walking into the room. "Whatever you do, don't hand that man the most powerful thing in this world. The U.P.A. can't control it, they will just unleash it violently on the world."

 

"So, what's it gonna be?" Xane asked. "There'll be another way fo you and Bella. You don't have to scrifice the worlds for it, though."

 

"I'm... no good with decisions," Nulix said. "No," Vecked yelled, "We can not give the Virus to these people."

 

"Calm down," Xane said. "We decide on this now. We can't keep arguing about something like this."

 

Wing folded his arms over his chest, the bracelet with the prism holding the virus jingling as he did.

"We cant give it to them. The UPA has always wanted this thing remember? Now I dont care if they've come around and we can call them allies. Once a corrupt organization, always a corrupt organization....it seems like Lexx has made you all forget about what the UPA has done in the past. I agree with Vecked, we are not handing over the Virus."

 

Tera Roth walked out of Pharell's office, disgruntled. Once again, the UPA hadn't pulled through. How was he supposed to get funding for the work to rebuild Ceegium now?

As he left, he brushed past Vecked.

He turned the corner, waiting until then to let his gasp blast out of him. Vecked, a Phoenix!?

Tera Roth shook his head, and walked outside, leaning against the wall to get some air. His senses prickled, and suddenly he focused, standing, his hands resting on his sword.

Something was definitely not right. Why did he get the feeling that something very, very dangerous was approaching? It was all he could do to keep himself from bolting. Sweat slid down his forehead, and his hands shook. Clenching his fists, he looked around warily.

It was coming closer. Decision made, he ran back into the base, apprehending the nearest guard he could find.

"Tell your boss," he said ferociously, "that something is coming. Tell your boss to get everyone ready to fight. Now!"

The soldier stammered a reply, but Tera Roth was already dashing back to the UO, not really paying attention. He ran into the room.

"Unless we want to get caught napping, we need to get outside," Tera Roth said. "Something's coming right for us; something very dangerous..."

 

OOC: Huh? What? Plot? ...And we're in Cotaxus' office...

BIC: "What? "Xane frowned. "What's going on?"

 

OOC: Whatever...Cotaxus, Pharell, it's all the same...How am I supposed to remember all the people who show up once and then disappear forever?

BIC: Tera Roth was frightened. He didn't like being frightened.

"Something...bad is coming," Tera Roth said. "We've got to stop it so the UPA has time to either get clear or prepare themselves to fight it here..."

 

"Informative," Xane commented. "But you forgot to mention what exactly is coming."


OOC: Pharell's shown up multiple times...

 

OOC: Well, I remembered his name didn't I? It's Coaticus I forget. Or is it Coaxitus?

*looks down the page* Cotaxus...

BIC: Tera Roth rolled his eyes. "I don't know what's coming! For crying out loud!"

He ran out of the office.
