Garxena nodded. "Mm hmm. I'm fine. Have you seen Silax?"

I don't even get a hello... Kai sighed. "He left."

"Where?" Garxena looked at Kai.

"How should I know?" Kai said.

 

"Uh... is everything ok between you two?" Zentaro asked.

 

Silax grabbed Telren by the throat and slammed him into the wall, "I should kill you for that....I would never do something like that....even if she doesn't want me and Garxena to be married....." he said gritting his teeth, "and if I even hear of you getting near Garxena......I will make sure there is nothing left of you....."

Telren laughed, "you try and help someone out....and you get treated like this...." he grinned, "obviously you don't want to be with her that much if your letting Kai get in the way....."

 

"We're fine!" Garxena and Kai said in unison. Garxena looked down. Why was my tone so angry?

Kai grit her teeth. "I'm going for a walk." She went outside, looking at the sky. Her whole world is about him now.

 

"Garxena.... maybe you should go talk to her." Zentaro said.

 

"All she's gonna say is 'He's not the right one for you' or 'I'm only worrying about you' or something like that. Zen, why doesn't she like Silax?" Garxena sighed.

 

Silax covered his hand in darkness and smashed it into Telren's face, "just shut up with you want to live....." he said taking his hand back, "now listen to me....your going to leave....thats right I'm giving you the same chance Yeifou is.....to leave and never come back....or I will kill you....."

Telren grinned, "very well....but remember you are the one who summoned me back...." he laughed, "and now you want me to leave....." he said portaling away.

 

Kai walked until she came to Telren's base. "I hate this place." She muttered. She sat down and leaned against the wall.

 

"I- I don't know." Zentaro couldn't stop thinking about how his body had responded to Kai's hug.

 

Katara walked outside and looked around. This place is really creepy... she thought. Then she suddenly noticed Kai sitting against the wall of Telren's lair. "Kai?" she asked and walked over to her. "What are you doing here?" she was a bit surprised to see her.

 

"Brooding." Kai answered grumpily. "I'd like to ask you the same question."

"You look a little weirded out. Did something happen?" Garxena asked Zentaro.

 

"I... um... well... you see..." she studdered and rubbed the back of her head nervously. She looked at the ground and kicked at it, trying to think of something to say to her. Oh man... I completely forgot that everyone would be mad at me for helping Telren...she thought and shook her head.

 

"What's with the hesitation?" Kai stared forward.

 

Katara looked at Kai. "Well... I'm kind of... helping someone with something... I..." she suddenly ran up to Kai and hugged her tightly. "I'm sorry, Kai!" she said, knowing that she would be upset.

 

Kai's heart softened a bit and she held on to Katara. "You can tell me. What did you do?"

 

Katara sighed and she looked at Kai sadly. "I... promised Telren that I'd help him... if he helped me..." she looked down, biting her lip. "He said... that he could bring Aang and... my father back..."

 

Kai stroked Katara's hair. "I know things like that can be tempting. But you've got to back out now." She let go of Katara. "Don't believe a word he says. Even if he could, the price is too high. Whatever he wants, it's nothing good." She smiled a bit. "You're like a second sister to me, Katara. I don't want to lose you too."

 

Katara smiled at Kai. "He promised me that whatever he wanted me to do wouldn't hurt anybody..." she said. "I made him... but still..." she looked down again. "I know I'll find Aang again one day... but he may be the only person who can bring my father back... " she felt tears start to form in her eyes and hugged Kai tighter. "I just... don't know what to do..."

 

"I know what you're feeling, Katara, believe me! I lost my mother, father, youngest brother, and I believed my sister all in the time span of an hour! When someone's gone you can't bring them back!" Kai hid sadness of recalling the memories. "But you've got to hang on to Aang. You know he's alive so find him. Find him on your own. Don't you dare go back to Telren."

 

"I..." Katara couldn't seem to bring herself to say anything else. Tears fell down her face and she looked at the ground. She didn't know what to do. She knew that she'd be able to find Aang again some day, but she knew that it would be near impossible to bring her father back. And Telren had been so kind to her... it was hard to see him as someone cruel. She sighed and hugged Kai, sensing a small sadness in her. She just let the tears fall down her cheeks and dissolve into the hard ground. Should I help Telren or not...? she thought.
