here is the story: http://www.ksfy.com/news/local/87491832.html now I don't know about everyone else but sitting on this side of the ordeal I find it slightly funny.........I know it's not nice and probably hurt the poor kids feelings but it's still slightly funny.
I imagine there are two sides to this story. The news article is victimising the teacher, while I strongly suspect there's more than shown at play.
Thats what I thought the child must have done something for his teacher to lay his job on the line on something like this....
Well it is true that there will be two sides to this story it reminds me of about three years ago where some exams were marked, they were sent through the mail to the examinees, who discovered remarks were written on the marked exams such as "nice work *censored*" on the not so amazing exams. The guy who wrote it was just bored, and wanted a bit of excitment in his life. Sure there was two sides to that story but that doesn't redeem whoever is the core of the problem.
Well that's a bit much if you ask me. But the teacher just seemed playful, I don't see anything wrong with it. I enjoy it when my teachers joke around with us. Now if actually marked off points because the student was a "loser," then there'd be a problem. But if the student actually got answers wrong and he just joked about the loser, as long as he didn't seriously insult the student, what's the problem?
This, exactly what I was going to say. The only thing I have a problem with is that he was already asked to stop.
This makes me think that the girl is spoiled and probably says 'loser' to other people in her class often or is at times rotten. It doesn't make what the teacher did acceptable in one sense, but it does make it kind of funny. If one of my teachers had ever written that, I'd know they were joking and think it was funny. I really don't see him writing that on her paper to break her in anyway if she was a frail girl with crappy self esteem. Who would actually do that?..
i remember about this story, i must've read it like 6 times from different sources and seen on TV like a billion times by now. i personally think that the mother is overreacting to this quite a bit. i remember that the teacher was just doing it to connect with the students or something like that. but i think he SHOULD get some sort of punishment because he was asked to stop doing this before and yet did it again anyway.
