So, I am guessing that you don't know what the Hell this thread is about, so let me explain.
Due to the large amount of ****** critiques, if they can even be called critique, in the graphics section, because kissing up, acting smart (while you don't know what you are talking about), getting rep and just increasing your post count seems to be the only thing(s) you people are thinking about and this can be easily applied to the whole forum, not only the graphics subforum, I decided to make this thread.
This is a thread where you post a tag/avatar and get proper critique from me, because I know stuff and I am probably a lot better then you.

Now the rules of the thread:
    - In this thread the only person that gives CnC is myself, not anyone else, no matter if they agree or disagree with my opinion.
-After I give you critique and it seems too harsh (and I will be harsh) or you don't like it, you DO NOT have the right to complain about it in this thread, if you want to complain you can either PM me, make a rant thread in the spam section or make a suicide thread, no other options.
-Do not spam this thread in any way, although I will be tolerant if someone posts a "thank you" or wants to compliment me, due to my kind heart.
-Only 1 tag per person in 24 hours (No you can't post after 23 hours and 59 minutes have passed, 24 hours needs to pass before your next tag or I will ignore your post), because I won't have time to critique all of the tags, I am only here for about 30-50 minutes a day.

Now that I probably insulted several people and fed my huge ego by posting how awesome I am, let the thread begin!

lol @ joke thread gone horribly wrong.

But yeah since a few humans got me seriously (the whole point of the thread was to trash some people and get a few lols out of this), I think I should try to be decent enough to give them their critique.

I guess I owe you some critique:

This tag has a good focal and a somewhat nice concept and thats about it, sorry but the tag is just a huge mess.
First off the depth is off the foreground which is made of the white brushing and text is more less sharper then the stock the is behind it. Now if you went for different focus (inverted ones, think cameras when they adjust their lens to clear whats farther away and making the close up blurry by doing so), it still doesn't work, because the background still doesn't have consistency and it has random blurred and sharpened parts.
So yeah depth is terribly off and it needs fixing.

Second thing that bothers me is the quality, or rather the lack of it, the stock looks incredibly LQ (low quality), I am not sure whether it was lq to begin with due to stock resizing or did you just over sharpen it, but it doesn't look good. You can fix this problem quite easily, just by using a few filters such as noise > reduce noise, sharpen > smart sharpen, blur > smart blur, those are one of the simplest ways.
You can also try using some plug-ins such as Topaz.

1 more thing bothers me and that is lighting, which you didn't bother to add although the stock has different kind of shades on it and clearly shows us that there should be one, if you want to make tags without lighting then I suggest you quit using stocks of real humans and start using anime ones, which don't require depth or lighting in the tag, rather just good colors and composition.

I took the liberty to make some adjustments on the tag you posted (I hope you don't mind), I couldn't do much since I don't have the .psd or the original stock, but yeah:

If you want I'll send you a .psd of what I exactly did to it.

Also this is a good tag, only it has a small number of flaws which really bring it down in my opinion.

Ok, before I begin let me just say one thing. Stop making black and white tags, they are just a quick solution for those who don't know how to handle colors.

Now then, the size is a bit off, since your doing a vertical tag it should be at least a bit higher, but that isn't really an important issue here. The problems of this tag is the noobish steps implemented in what could have been a great tag. I like that you smudged the stock/c4d (I can't tell if you smudged the stock first or just added a c4d and the smudged over the stock, but I am strongly leaning you did the 2nd option) and that seemed to me like a good start, that is till I saw the totally unneeded clipping mask and the fugly text... Remove them both NOW! I mean seriously, you put a circle clipping mask on Ansems cheek... HE LOOKS LIKE A FREAKING PIKACHU >:

This tag, like the one Pepto made, is also terribly lq, grainy and has depth issues, so do what I suggested him here.

Also this tag needs more details, so you could just make a new layer, apply the image, grab the liquify tool and just start pulling simple lines over the whole tag, after that just put the layer on lighten and erase the parts that you don't like. The liquify tool will often make rather sharp lines so use that to put in your foreground to make a nice depth effect. You can also try this with the smudge too to give it a nice flare-ish effect.

Also just adding a simple light source with a white soft round brush, will make a huge difference in appeal.

I just messed with the tag for a minute and look what I got:

I am sure you can make it at least 10 times better if you spend even 10 minutes on it, just open your Photoshop and experiment, you'll be surprised how far it will get you.

Overall it is a good tag, but it doesn't seem like a finished one to me, just keep up the good work ;D

Ok, I am gonna be brutally honest and tell you that the tag is really unappealing.

The color choice is rather dreadful and I don't like how burned the colors on the doll are, but the text fits in perfectly, I'll give you that much.

Concerning the color choice, you should really try to follow the basic color theory when making a tag, just use the basic complementary colors, lets say you have a stock thats green, then just slap some red it the tag, it works wonders for the tag appeal.
If you don't know how to use the color wheel properly, you can just use some of the jummy color schemes you can find on this site: http://www.colourlovers.com/blog/2007/06/01/colorful-beauty-in-nature-butterflies/
Even if your tags effects/compo/everything looks horrible, but you have nice colors, the tag will look good, keep that in mind.

Other thing about this tag is out of order is the stock position, you should really try to stick to the rule of thirds when making a tag, I won't bother explaining about stock positioning, but if you want I'll gladly PM you a few tutorials about color a general tag basics.

I really won't bother arguing with you, because not only am I not in the mood and quite frankly I thing your a dumba**.

So let me just trash you signature OK? ~8D

Now lets see your tag is horrible in every way possible, if your not a beginner (time wise), then I have to say you have the ability of a shaved, blind autistic monkey.

You have no depth, no flow or light source in your tag, although non of these things are a must in a tag and a tag can be great without them, you did not include even 1 of these things to somewhat improve this horrible tag.

You butt raped that poor fractal just by sticking it in that tag and making it your main effect, not even bothering to erase some bits to make it at least decent looking and like that wasn't enough for the poor thing, you had to fu*king whore it with a fugly texture, which even covers the stock, the stock that hid in the far right corner of the tag, probably afraid (and ashamed) of showing itself in the signature.

For Heavens sake you didn't even include colors in your signature and I don't even know why I am still calling it a signature and a tag, because it is as far from that title as it can be...

I strongly believe that this tag shall burn in the deepest circle gfx Hell...

As for you , go learn the basics of the basics, there still might be some time to redeem your soul.

Gimp has filters that can be used as a replacement, I haven't worked with GIMP in quite a long time, but if you want I'll reinstall it, try some stuff and then PM the PS filter replacements.

Ghetto, get Gimp then, it is free and has a lot more options then PS Elements.

Yes, it works a bit different then the PS one, but you can still do wonders with it.

Hey, I'm all for GOOD CnC, but I'm sorry, I'm going to have to close this. I don't think this is really necessary since people can just send you a PM with a tag or a thread URL asking for CnC. Also, that's mostly what A graphics clan is for.

    PM me for complaints.
