Kyla took off a ring. "The stone is a diamond. Is that any use?"

She was looking forward to the ice cream. She realised she hadn't eaten for a while.

(You're not having her diamond necklace, Necros gave it to her, and she isn't parting with it. :D )

Kyla was really beginning to enjoy what was happening. Zeke and Scarlet had provided the diversion that she needed.

 

Arkadius apeared walking back towards the beach he was walking on the water his cloths had changed, he walked proudly towards Kyla's house. When Suddenly Zarax apeared. "Arkadius, stop, Kyla has taken her mind of things at the moment give her piece just change form and go socialise, Trinskth will not come for a long time." Ark nodded and clsoed his eyes his cloths then changed to long black baggy trousers and a buttoned long sleeved shirt that had the sleeves ripped of he also had black Arm Warmers that had white ruins on them. Ark walked forward and knocked on the Door waiting for an answer.

Kyla answered the door, a huge grin on her face. She and Scarlet had been teasing Zeke and she was enjoying this.

"Please come in Arkadius. We're going out for ice cream once we have got Zeke into disguise. I favour putting him in a dress. Revenge for wrecking my other house!"

Kyla studied Arkadius. She knew that he had inherited the burden that Zarax had bourne. Poor kid. She tried to sense Zarax using the telepathic link, but could feel only a glimmer in the background. Was this from Arkadius or Zarax? Did Arkadius inherit the full curse? She wanted to ask him, but knew that he would talk if and when he was ready.

 

Arkadius smiled but then looked at Kyla her mouth didnt move but he heard her voice, he thought to himself, was this the link Zarax and she had. Arkadius felt it was slightly rude to not tell her so he did. "Kyla, I think I have a strong wave link to your thoughts, Im sorry, If I am invading your privacy, and answering your question, I have taken Zarax's full curse, I am the protector of his legac.....His life, and that feeling you are getting, that is from Zarax's he is my Guardian Ghost and lives in my sword. Though you may get feelings from me since I have taken on his powers, abilities, posibly some of his personality and much more." Ark sighed "Im sorry for the inconvenience but I would love it if I came along."

 

Kyla bushed. She hadn't realised how much Arkadius had inherited. She then guessed that he probably knew everything. Another ghost around, and one that Gharanth didn't get on with. This could be interesting.

"Please don't worry about the link. I like the fact that you're there, as long as it doesn't upset you. I assume you know the whole story? Of course, Zarax would have told you. You are very welcome to come with us."

She did not want him to feel left out, or that he was a replacement in the group for Zarax. Zarax was gone, Arkadius was a completely different person.

"Why don't you meet the rest of the motley crew?"

 

Arkadius felt obliged to say something Ark had always been someone without humour, yet he would laugh when he felt it was needed, so he chuckled, Zarax had told him everything and what his curse was, Arkadius remembered that when him and Zarax had disapeared that they had been gone for 1 day yet it felt like a year of constant training. "Thankyou, Zarax is only visible in battle sadly and he wont be able to comunicate to you but he can comunicate through me. If you want to tell him anything then i can help."

 

"Thank you, I will remember that." Kyla looked even more embarrassed. She liked Arkadius. He seemed a little serious, but she thought that mixing with Zeke and Necros would help him relax. He must be in an awkward position, on the outside, but with a lot of knowledge.

"Please make yourself at home, everyone does here."

She wanted to ask him so many questions, but did not want to make him uncomfortable.

 

Arkadius looked to the floor "Im sorry, I did it again, but, again, answering your question, ask me what you like, Zarax......says I must." Ark walked in he nodded his head as a gesture of 'Hello' but seemed serious doing it.

 

Kyla watched Ark with the others. He seemed uncomfortable. She felt sorry for him. The others had fought, laughed and suffered together, Ark was the newcomer, not in the group yet. Even Kyla was part of this group, feeling an easy comfort in their presence.

They seemed to accept him easily enough, but she sensed unease. He needs to chill out, she thought. 'It's ok, you can stop with me if you feel uncomfortable. I could use some new company. Tell me a little about yourself.'

 

Ark turned around to Kyla "You know my name, I have just finished College although I am two years younger than I should be. I live alone and I have been for 10 years" he sighed "My Parents left me when I was young I never knew why" Ark sat down. "Please, tell me about yourself also."

 

"Like you I lived alone. My father was a pure blood fire demon and my mother was a half healer demon. Neither of them are alive. I have inherited all their powers. I am 125 years old, though I'm not sure how long I'll live now, as Zarax has probably told you. If you are on your own you are welcome to live here, providing you don't mind the chaos. We all have strange backgrounds, so you won't be the odd one out. I was with Zarax, but things happened............."

Kyla stopped talking and looked down at the floor.

 

Ark looked to the side as if someone was talking to him "Ok, I will," Ark put his arm on Kylas shoulder lifting her head up gently he looked into her eyes "Zarax has told me everything, theres no need to worry about that"

"You must think I'm evil then. I suppose I must be given the family history. You've yet to meet Gharanth. No one seems to survive my family."

"Zeke is the one with the big problems at the moment. He is the reason we had to leave the old house. It's a bit of a wreck. He is involved with something evil called Mephilas, have you heard of it? It wanted Zarax I think, and now it may come after you. We may have the sceptre to trap it in. I'm worried for your safety."
