Might see it, haven't really heard about it. What i'm wondering though is it says February 17, yet you're planning on seeing it with someone on the 14th? How exactly does that work?

I haven't seen the subbed version of this, but I've heard it's a great movie so I'll probably go see it in theaters when it comes out here. And yes I'm aware Disney most likely only picked it up because of how well it did worldwide.

My theater didn't even show it.
Guess I'll just wait for the DVD release.

 

I'm dissapointed that they use Disney Channel stars for this movie. Disney is just promoting their crap and tainting some wonderful art. I'm probably going to watch the British version at some point because I refuse to watch Disney's.

 

The voice acting wasn't bad though. They did a decent job on it.


Another note. Any movie that can make a grown man like me cry is worthy.

 

It still bugs me that it's a plug-in for the worst Disney has to offer.

 

Hmm I watched the British dub. It was a little...meh. Not bad, just not great either. Serious overload of dull surprise going on everywhere. I'm pretty sure half of them were just American's trying to put on false British accents anyway. But maybe as an American (I assume you are anyway) that wouldn't be as noticeable to you so you might enjoy it more.

I wasn't all that keen on the British version either (Did they really have different voice actors for the UK release and the US?). The wee boy's voice sounded so dull to me, but the rest were awright, thought definitely not the best.

Not my favourite Ghibli film but it was ok. Didn't like the ending though. There wasn't much to it which left me feeling...'That it?'.

Other than that I enjoyed it.

 

I absolutely LOVED this movie! So much so that I even picked up the OST.

I watched the British Dub. For a dub, it wasn't bad. I think the boy didn't try very hard, but I thought Arrietty herself sounded lovely. Coullld be that I'm American though and all British accents sound wonderful to us.

 

Well, unless you and many other want to do some better voice acting, don't complain.
