"I've not seen many wolf gifts, I never saw any in the Orphanage either", Leon thought aloud. He looked around his rented room remembering what he was about to do before interrupted. "So, do you have business with me or can I be left to clean myself up?", he asked.

 

"...Wolf gift? 'The hell you talking about?" Rei said, regarding him warily.
She sighed. "You do look a bit beat up, well, more than a bit, but...keh, you're no good to me dead. Clean yourself up, but I've still got some questions."

Pausing, glancing out the window again, she said, "While it'd be fun to go...explore...this town, I don't think it'd be good to get myself in a mess this early on. If it's fine with you, I'll stay here."

Toxyn tightend his hug around his legs. He looked up at her for a moment, but diverted his eyes when he saw her looking at him. "You've got wings..." he said. That was the only words that came out of his mouth though.
Are you an angel? he thought, knowing that she could read his mind. He didn't like to talk. It caused unnescasary pain. As far as he was concerned though, he had only heard rumors of the other types of people that were there. Readers were the only ones that he had met, as well as other elementals. They needed to use readers to get into his mind, to toy with him.
he still didn't budge though. The fact that he was talking to her a little was enouph. That did not mean that he did not fear her still.

BIC: "Alright, stay in here then. I'll only be a minute", Leon said as he disappeared through the bathroom door with a bag he brought with him. He quickly had a shower and changed his clothing to clean undamaged ones. His wings where now as white as they should be and his injuries where smaller in appearance, dirt made them look worse. In actuality his wounds where from sleeping in the wilderness, although it did almost get him killed by a bear in his sleep. He was fond of his wings saving him every now and again.

Victor laid twisted on his bed. The pain and anger mixed into something that he only felt when the punk fry maker took a dip in the milkshake machine. "Dammit Eva." he grumbled under his breath. "Why can't you just listen to me every so often?"

Drained and crest fallen by his defeat by the teen, the former director slid himself under the sheets.

 

Rea pulled out her flute and played as she walked around. She closed her eyes as she played, listening to her music. Without Rea even realizing it, her gift was activated. Time stood absolutely still. The birds that were flying around stopped in mid-air. Rea walked around until she ran into a wall. Her playing ceased and time continued. "Owww..." Rea rubbed her nose, knowing she had broken it.

 

"Okay," Rei said.
While the man went to clean himself up, she went to the bed and sat on the edge and faced the window. Looking out, she thought to herself, "Where am I? I have never seen a town with so many people like me...I guess the rumors in the North were true after all."
Growling slightly, she said, "But what the hell is this weapon? I figured out that it channels fire somehow, but I have no idea how to control it..."
She stared out the window, trying to gather her thoughts. Without realizing it, the fatigue from her travels caught up with her, and she closed her eyes and drifted off sitting on the edge of the bed, despite her instincts telling her to stay awake.

BIC: Eva tapped her fingers in a rythym, humming to herself as she finished one stack and moved onto the next, her eyes watering slightly from the extensive use. She added up the figures on a spare sheet of paper, did them again, checked the answer, then wrote down the finished sum on the bills, checked it against the account, and smiled. So far, so good.

 

Across the kitchen, the house phone began to ring. After the third ring, the caller ID glowed to life. However, something was wrong. The symbols were corrupted and only looked like boxes.

 

Eva would have ignored the call, but she felt like she had to see at least who it was. Maybe Elevir had found her. Getting up, she laid the pen across the book and went to the small glowing box. Tilting her head, she brushed her finger tip across the boxes, letting it slow. Her eyes widened, and she felt her heart race slightly. Just coincedence. But was there such a thing as coincedence?

 

The phone continued to ring. the sound seeming to get louder and deeper. Suddenly, the phone in the den began to ring. A dull vibration of Eva's cellphone creeped up Eva's leg. If the call wasn't answered soon it would go to recording.

 

Slowly, never taking her eyes off the caller ID, Eva grabbed her cell phone and flipped it open, holding it to her ear, her hand steady. "Hello?" she asked politely, only her eyes showing fear, going dark with it.

 

"Hello?" a young voice replied.

"This is the Funky Fu's cantonese take out. Your order is ready. One order of white rice, one of brown rice, two Mu Shu pork and one vegetarian option. We're calling ahead that we are delivering the order right away to a mister..." the sound of crumpling paper came from the ear piece.

"A Mister Victor Kendrith?"

 

Eva gripped her phone tightly, shutting her eyes, taking a deep breath. "Yes, that's correct." She didn't think he had ordered anything, but the voice didn't sound the same, and it wasn't as deep. She would ask him later.

 

Leon returned from the bathroom fully clean and with light scratches where the wounds where, they weren't what they appeared to be. Instantly, he noticed the girl asleep on the bed. Unsure whether or not he should wake her he spoke out, "Tired or something?", he asked, his voice wasn't as rough as before but still sounded heavy and gloomed.

 

The man's voice instantly woke her. Startled, Rei shot up from the bed, eyes glowing bright, ears forward, and tail stright behind her. Out of instinct, she got into a fighting position.

Realizing that it was the man, she relaxed slightly.
"Yeah, I might be. What's it to you?"

 

"Nothing", Leon said, "Just preventing something awkward". Moving more casually he walked over to the window. "So, unless you want to sleep do you want to go somewhere?", he asked remembering what they originally said they would do.

 

Seeing that he intended no harm, Rei let out a breath and relaxed. "I should be fine, just...haven't slept in a while. Traveled a long way to get here."
She then looked at him with slight confusion and thought, "Is he showing...compassion?"
Shaking it off as her mind tricking her, she said, "Again, just want some answers. Wherever you feel most comfortable talking is fine with me, as we've established that I'm not going to hurt you."

 

"Fine, ask your questions", Leon replied. He was still only just resting here before moving to another location in town once he finds one. The mental scars of his past kept him from ever feeling safe, he was completely paranoid but didn't show it much.
