The Sanctuary

She smiled, shaking her head. "It was okay. Do you want me to go tend to the restaraunt?" She watched her foster father. He still hadn't recovered, no matter how he tried to hide it. She sighed inwardly. Guys.

OOC: I thought we was in trouble. Didn't know either of you still RP XD

@DP could you make your text a brighter shade of red? it's hard for me to read without highlighting.

Victor shook his head in what he thought was a calm matter. "Don't worry about it" he said through a smile. "We have good workers and a few competent managers. I'm sure the place will run itself. The only problem is the bills and budgets. I have to get back to work on those."

 

Eva sighed, then grabbed her foster father and pointed him in the direction of his bedroom. "Nope. You're going to rest. I'll get back to work on those." She smiled, pushing him lightly. "Go on."

 

A mixture of fear, exsaustion, and hate ran through his mind. He was still foggy towards the night before, so memories of how he had encountered the girls past friends hadn't popped up in his mind, though the memory of the polar bear attacking him still was fresh in his mind.
He tucked in his knees more. His body ached. He didn't have the energy to attack this person to get away. He felt weak, exposed, as if he was about to be captured again, or maybe even killed. Right now, the only thing he could focus on was what he thought was about to happen.

 

OOC: I've never stopped RPing >> There's just not many RPs worth joining anymore.

BIC: Leon fell through the door of the small hotel but without crashing down. After taking a breath and looking around the lobby he walked over to the confused woman behind the reception desk. "I'd like a room", Leon spoke, his voice sounding rough as if he had not drank water in a while. The receptionist slowly reached to the keys behind her and passed one to Leon with Leon passing the rest of his money back. "How long can I stay with that much"? he asked with the woman answering him "Three nights".
With his key in hand Leon thanked the woman simply and dragged himself up the stairs to room 7 where he would be staying for now.

Rei followed the scent through the fairly deserted street. There were some other people milling about, but once she focused on a scent or sound, everything else faded to the back of her mind.
She noted several alleyways however, and kept that in mind as a possible hiding place if this town wasn't as...accepting as the North.
The scent led her to a building that reminded her of the small inns in the North, though this was much bigger and not buried in snow. The scent grew stronger as she got closer to the door.
"Must've just passed through here..." Rei thought, and entered the building. The woman behind the desk didn't seem to be very attentive, almost as if she were distracted by something. Rei took advantage of the woman's inattentiveness and crossed the room in several swift, quiet movements.
Sniffing the air again, her tail absently twitched; by the way the scent was it seemed like it's owner was half dead.
"Half dead or not, I can still get answers...let's see where you're staying."
Rei went up the stairs, following the scent to a room marked 7. Confirming that this was indeed where the scent led her, she knocked on the door several times.

 

Rea sighed and layed back down in her bed. "I can't keep myself shut up in my room like this... Look at me, I have no friends... i'm a loser..." She sat up. "But, i'm not gonna just sit here and sulk about it." Rea stood up and walked to the door. "I'm gonna make some friends." She opened the door and walked out.

 

Leon had hardly been in the room for a few minutes when someone knocked. He didn't have enough time to tend to his traveling wounds, rest or clean. Taking a minute to get to the door he opened it slightly to see who was there. Stood infront of the door was a wolf-like girl, "Do you want something"? he asked, his voice was still rough.

 

Rei wasn't sure what to expect when the door opened.
The occupant hadn't opened the door fully, but it was enough for her to gather basic facts: male, white hair, smelled like blood.
Her red eyes focused on him, trying to pick out any other identifying traits should a job come up in which he was the prey. Given that he was already injured, she suspected he was running from something or someone.
For a moment, Rei thought she saw some kind of feathers, but dismissed it as her mind playing tricks on her in the new environment.
His voice sounded as battered as he looked, and she replied, "Yeah. I've got a few questions for you."
Her ears were pointed forward, right hand near her weapon in case the man tried to attack and run.

 

"Questions?", Leon replied slightly surprised as it could be heard in his voice before a mild coughing fit. After the cough subsided he looked at the girl again, she seemed feral in a way. "Go ahead with your questions", he said still keeping the door partially open, unsure whether she was violent or not.

 

Rei nodded.
"Alright then, wh-" she started, but then her ears picked up the sound of someone coming up the steps.
"Dammit, if it's that woman she'll probably call the police or something..."
Without thinking too much, Rei growled "Move" to the man behind the door and forced herself into the room, her metal claw-like weapon clanking against the doorframe.

 

Leon stepped out the way of the door before it was pushed open. He quickly noticed the weapon she held and was prepared to make a break for the window if she attacked. Even if he was injured and tired he could still use his wings enough for escape.

 

Rei swore, in her effort to dodge whoever was coming up the steps, the metal claws had cut her leg. She muttered to herself, "I don't even know what this thing is supposed to be for and it's doing more harm than good..."
Turning back to the man, she saw that he was badly injured and exhausted. His scent, now that she was in the room, told her that he was wary of her. She couldn't really blame him, since her appearance was less than friendly, from the animal skins she wore to the weapon at her side; not to mention the things that so many already hated and feared her for - the attributes of a wolf.
Her entire train of thought suddenly stopped, however, when she noticed that he had wings. Despite several years of hunting all kinds of people and creatures in the North, her tongue slipped anyway. In a shocked voice, she said, "What the hell are you?"

 

Leon froze for a second, reflecting on what he had just heard, "You really don't know?", he asked, "Your the same". Naturally he kept his eyes focused on the weapon she held though he wasn't feeling any hostility from her now, it was more confusion.

 

Victor grunted. His attempts to push up against his girl's hands was futile. In such a weakened state, she might as well have become a body builder.

"No" he was able to hiss out as he tried to breath. "I'll do the bills, not you."

 

Rei stared at him.
"So we both look different than others," she said. Noticing that he wouldn't look away from her weapon, she sighed and reattached it to her belt. At the same time, she took a small piece of fur from a pouch on her belt to stop the bleeding on her leg and tied it in place, wincing slightly in pain.
Looking back up at him, she growled, "You can stop staring at the weapon now, if I was here to kill you you'd already be dead," and then said, "Besides, I...never met anyone that's said they're like me before."
Her hand stayed near the chain on the metal claws. "But how do I know that those wings are real? I've had other hunters try and decieve me with fake appearances."

"I... I'm not going to hurt you," Elevir spoke, holding a hand out to help the boy, Toxyn, up. "I escaped from The Orphanage, too."

Realizing Toxyn hadn't said that he was from the Orphanage out loud, Elevir quickly corrected herself, the feathers on her luminescent wings ruffling a bit.
"Oh, sorry... I'm a Reader, not just a Winged gift...."

 

"How long have you been here? Don't tell me you never saw anyone else but me? This entire place is full of people like us", Leon said moving his sight off her weapon. "Look out the window", he recommended knowing she might see others.

 

"Just got here. I was about a mile out, picked up the scent of civilization, and once I was on the outskirts of town I picked up another scent," Rei said, red eyes focused on his, "Your scent. Which is why I'm here now."
She went to the window and looked out. Sure enough, there were people about that she hadn't noticed before that looked different. Growling slightly, she said, "Yeah, didn't see them, too focused. But I don't see any of them looking...half wolf."

 

OOC: Jesus ****ing christ.
BIC: Eva shook her head, pushing him into the bedroom. "I need to work on my math skills anyway. Have a good rest." She smiled sweetly, turning and walking to the table, sitting down. She didn't mind doing the bills anyway. It was nice to have quiet time.
