The Sanctuary

Gently, carrying the bags, Eva sighed, looking in one of the shop windows, smiling a little. The ring inside was beautiful, made by hand and crafted gently. She gently touched the glass, changing her eyes to eagle's to examine it. Whoever had made it had clearly poured hours of work into it. The leaves were crafted around the diamond just so.

 

Seth wandered around the town exploring the area trying to get his mind off of the fact that Larenzo was still alive and that he was at the town. As he tried to get his mind off the topic he though about the director why was that man sad? is it beccause of the fact that his son was still alive? Seth thought to himself

 

'So... you're afraid you'll be arrested?' she told Toxyn, while finishing up wrapping the bandages around her neck. It felt really weird and unnatural with them there, but she figured she could cover the bandages up with a scarf or something, so no one would notice.
'I already know about the attack earlier. Eva and... the former directer still remember it.'

 

Setting her bag down, the food in it, Eva stretched, her eyes roaming around the house. She felt an excessive need to run, just run and run and run. Almost shivering with the need, she stepped out the door, scanning the street. Empty. Good. Pulling off her shirt, she liked this one, she laid it just inside the house, then slowly, jerkily, shifted into a zebra. Good runners that they were, and pretty, she just hoped not to attract too much attention. Pawing at the ground, she took off running, feeling the breeze whip her mane.

 

In that case... do you still plan on assisting me? Toxyn asked. He shifted his weight over to his left leg, preparing himself incase he had to strike, not thinking through the fact that she'd already be able to tell what he was planning. He knew that if she knew about that, then she could still always be working for him.
The one thing that he had learned from his experiences had been that if he trusted people, then he'd always end up getting hurt. Even now after she had helped him, common sense took control of emotion, and he made certain that he wouldn't be harmed if she tried anything.

 

'I'll help you escape, if it comes to that,' Elevir answered. She definitely understood Toxyn's motive for attacking the former Director, though others might not.
'So are we leaving? The earlier we leave, the less likely it is that word about the attack will have spread.'

 

'You lead' Toxyn thought. As unnoble as it may have been that he would be hiding behind a woman, he had no motive to step out head first and get them into trouble. He figured that as long as she was in front, people might pay more attention. It was a stupid idea, but it was the best thing he had going for him.

 

Elevir turned half way towards Toxyn. He was at least a few inches taller than her... 'hiding' wouldn't exactly be the best word to use... but that wasn't important. She turned away, and stepped closer to the opening of the alleyway.
Where exactly were they supposed to go? Elevir knew little to nothing about this town... but anywhere would be better than where they were.

Not that many people were around anyway, so she stepped outside the alley and walked in the direction she had been going before.
'Any idea as to where we're headed?' she asked.

 

'Ah, yes, that makes total sense. The stranger who's only spent a day here would obviously have an idea of where to go. After all, I wasn't sleeping next to a dumpster because I had no where else to go, I just felt like it.' Toxyn thought, snapping some what at her, due to what he though was a question that was asked with 'a lack of intellegence'. You've been here longer, havn't you? WHere've you been staying? he asked her, not as much of an attitude when he asked the second question.

 

Seth continued to walk down the the streets wandering around the area. What should I do now that Larezo is free. I wonder what he is planning Seth thought to himself and groaned this is getting so annoying maybe I should relax a bit thought to himself

 

'Well, I don't know, you could have been a hobo. You sure looked like one.' she snapped back. 'I don't find a need to read that deep into the thoughts of everyone I meet. To answer your questions, though... I've been here since...'
She tried to remember where the moon was in the sky when she got to the town. She'd never taken the time to notice....
'It was earlier this morning when I got here, unless I slept a day and didn't realize it. There's a house I stayed at, but for just a few hours...'
It was then she heard a familiar voice; it wasn't that far away, either. Looking down the street, she could see Seth, one of the other powerful Readers from the Orphanage.
'Seth?' She spoke directly to him, through telepathy, 'You can hear me, right?'

 

Seth stopped walking and immediatly looked around the area Elevir? is that you? Seth telepathically replied remembering the voice of one of the people he escaped with. Seth began to look around the area for her

IC://Elevir was starting to wonder just how many people she knew from the Orphanage were in this town. Eva, Ren, Toxyn (though she didn't actually meet him at the Orphanage), even Larenzo, and the Director.
And now Seth.
'Down the street, Seth,' she directed him, 'And to your left.'

 

Seth nodded and began to follow her directions as he ran. Seth was amazed that he not only got to see Eva and the director but now he got to see Elevir all in the same day. Seth made a left turn like she instructed and walked up to her "its been a while Elevir" Seth said with a smile

 

Eva stood on the edge of town, slowly and painstakingly shifting back into human. Sure she was naked, but no one could see her, not here. Tired as anything, ,she found her extra cache of clothes and dressed, humming. Walking alone, barefoot, she reveled in the simple nature. It helped her, calmed her. There had to b e a way to get back her shifting abilities to normal again.

 

Toxyn glared for a moment, observing Seth, now that the man had appeared before them. Elevir seemed to be comforatable around him, and even though Toxyn had his doubts, he knew that this person hadn't gotten in his way when he attempted to kill the director. Still though...
This man was a stranger. He had to be careful. 'Who is he?' he asked. He didn't plan on talking to the man himself due to his own personality, so he figured that he might as well just confirm things from her instead.

 

"... It has." Elevir responded.
'Seth is one of the people I escaped from the Orphanage with,' she told Toxyn, telepathically, even if Seth could hear. The memories of that day were thoughts she preferred to avoid. That entire week, for that matter.

 

'In that case, can we quit the chit chat? Perhaps wait until after we get somewhere we can't be seen?' Toxyn asked. He was more concerned for himself at the moment. He was being searched for as is, and had been attacked once already. Who knew what else might end up coming his way.

 

Seth looked over at the new person next to Elevir and wondered who he was and why does he not want to be seen? is he hiding from something Seth said as he thought to himself and towards Elevir to see if she would answer his question

 

'Something like that,' Elevir responded to Seth, 'But he's right, we really should get going. Are you going anywhere right now?'
She looked back towards Toxyn. 'We're not going to be out in the open for much longer. Just don't freak out. If there are any Readers looking for you that would be like an alarm to them.'
