The Sanctuary

The manic's eye widened. Ducking to the right, he dodged the fatal pierce to his eye. Instead the iron claw slashed his cheek making a huge gash. Grabbing the boy's arm with his left, the manic lunged his right into Toxyn's stomach. His nails digging in, trying to tear out one of his abs.

 

"Toxyn, no!" Elevir shouted, running after the elemental before realizing just what she was running back into. Through the insanities the manic had caused, she tried to keep running to help Toxyn.
When she reached the adequate distance, she brought the knife down on the shoulder of the arm that the Manic was using to claw at the other boy. She was too close to realize her wings weren't there behind her back anymore.

 

Once again, Charis carefully taped a flyer with a picture of her relative on the large glass window of the shop she was standing in front of. She did this with only a few shops she went past today, mostly because some shop owners wouldn't allow her to post papers on their doors and windows. Whatever. She could think of other ways of showing people her flyers...maybe on cars? Police officers did it with tickets, so she could do it. She'd do that later.

"Toxyn, no!"

"...What?" Charis heard a yell from someone near the back alley of the shop she was near. Where some teens at it behind there? She..could put off going somewhere for lunch later. It was more important to see if someone was hurt or not. She stayed behind the side of the shop before making her way to the back and glancing down the alley. Two guys and a girl were at it, but...one guy was digging an iron claw into another. That looked dangerous.

"Hrm." Charis reached in her pants pocket and pulled out a marker. She was an animator, so she always carried that sort of utensil around. The ground was made of cement so she could easily draw on it with that. But what weapon would she make...

 

Toxyn quickly jumped back, his stomach being glazed, claw marks visible on his bear skin. He grabbed the area where he had been wounded, applying pressure so not to lose blood since he was slashed at in a sensative area. "Die!" he yelled again. He hit his claw on the ground, eletricity flowing out of it, and running along the ground towards the boy. It wasn't strong like it usually was so it wouldn't do much damage, since he had just retaliated from the shock of pain, but it would still be enouph to have an effect on the boys body to probably weaken him.

 

Taking the blow to his shoulder, the manic didn't even flinch. Instead, he ripped the knife out of his shoulder. Blood gushed from his wound. A hideous laugh escaped his gullet as the nails on his raked across elevir's throat. Skin and blood became lodged under his fingers while he intensified the manic field. Jumping back, he chucked the blade at toxyn's metalic claw.

 

Charis crouched down as she began drawing the second weapon that came into her mind. A bazooka was what she wanted, but she didn't remember how to draw all its parts, so a machine gun was what she was drawing. A friend of hers from another town had a father that owned one. She happened to see it and remember how it looked.

The stock, grip, bullets, other stuff... Charis quickly finished the drawing and watched as it materialized from a picture to a real object in just a few seconds. She picked up the machine gun from off the ground and stayed at the side of the shop. From there she couldn't really be seen, but she would just have to lean over to aim and shoot at the crazy guy.

"Well, here I go." Charis quickly moved over and pulled the trigger, almost dropping the gun after hearing the sound. Brrrrrrrrrrrrritatatata!~ Her hands got shaky as she continued to hold on but she aimed for the area around the guys stomach.

 

Elevir reached up to feel the blood on her neck, which was flowing steadily from the wounds the Manic boy had caused. Nothing in the situation seemed to connect anymore.
The sound of rapid fire echoed throughout the alleyway, and Elevir's vision shot in the direction of the source of the sound. A girl was shooting, and as she looked a flood of thoughts entered her mind. Thoughts that originated from the girl with the machine gun.
She closed her eyes tightly and shook the thoughts from her mind, and when her eyes opened again, she saw the girl's target. The manic boy was riddled with bullet holes almost all over his body. Elevir took a couple more steps back from the boy, who was probably dead by then.

 

Spasming from the impact of the bullets, the manic collapsed to the ground, an ocean of crimson encircled his body and stained his cloths. Even his laughter had turned to blood. Slowly, his left eye slowed to a stop as his right dimmed. The last puff of air in the manic's lungs left his body and misted the sky. It was over.

 

Her mind mostly returned to her, Elevir stepped back further from the pool of blood forming on the ground, then looked to the entrance of the alleyway. Whoever fired that machine gun had more than likely saved both her life and Toxyn's life... but the girl had already disappeared.
She walked around the pool of blood to where Toxyn was standing, and stared once again at the boy. Why had he gone so far out of the way to attack them, like that? That was the question that had stayed in the back of her mind during the entire fight.

 

A sharp snap rang through the air. The boy's body shot up. It's head turned in Elevir's direction. From his mouth came a familiar voice.

"Elevir? My my, what a surprise we have here. Never would have guessed you for a big city gal. By the way, congrats on staying alive."

 

Something like a growl escaped Elevir's throat when she heard the voice from the boy they had just killed. Figures. Of course he'd do something like this.
"Why can't you just come here yourself?" she asked, though not expecting a real answer.

 

"Oh come on now. Don't be like that. Is that anyway to talk to the person who's freedom you gave? I mean, without you, Larz would still be alive. Man girl, you're one cold blooded she lizard."

A grin whipped across the corpses mouth. The eyes were still dim and dead.

 

She picked up her knife, which lay behind her, still red with the manic boy's blood. Her knuckles went white from gripping the wood so tightly. It was killing her not being able to read the man's thoughts, and she could only hope he wouldn't realize that.

"What are you trying to do?"

 

"You'll find out soon enough, gemini gift. Trust me, when you see it you'll know for sure what I am planning."

The corpse fell to the ground. The lips stopped moving as the body grew silent. Something wicked this way comes. The only question is what.

 

Toxyn was breathing slightly heavier now, but his senses were returning. The instinct to kill had dissapeared, replaced by curiousity, and pain. "You should take care of any wounds he might've given you." he said to Elevir.
Unlike the wound from the claw, he didn't take this one as badly since it had been from a human. A dangerous one, yes, but still not as bad. He started walking towards where he had left his shirt, deciding that by now, it would be best if he covered himself up, even if there were claw marks on it.
In his mind, he was stuck on the question of just what had happend, but he decided not to ask until in a safer area. If anything else happend, then he didn't want to end up like before.....weak....and sniveling like a coward.

 

"Oh... right," Elevir responded, putting her knife away and walking over to gather what was left of the supplies. Her own wounds on her neck were still bleeding, but she could deal with that.
"But we should really get out of here. We can find somewhere else to hide for now."
The smell of the dead manic's blood was really getting to her.

 

Eva rubbed her head, going through the market square. She wasnt sure what she needed, to be honest. She just needed to get out of the house. "Um....can I have some of that, and a pound of this?" She held up some grapes, looking very yummy. To be honest, she hated fruit, liking more meat, but she was trying to change her ways. Trying.

 

You should do something about the wound on your neck or else you might bleed to death. It's too close to the lungs Toxyn thought. He walked up behind Eliver, but no farther ahead, fearing that the farther he went outward of the ally way, the sooner he'd be seen by some random person.
For a moment, his focused fixed over to the wound. Deep or not, it was one to the neck. It wasn't exsactly concern for her, but it was more so something which bugged him, seeing someone who was still assisting him (though he still had his doubts) wounded. Curiosity only added onto that feeling though. Before him, a strange child that was slaughtered had just allowed its head to float in the air, and had a very.....interesting, conversation with the girl. It certainly wasn't something that he planned on forgetting about any time soon.

 

'I guess you're right...' Elevir said, telepathically. It couldn't hurt her any more to take care of it now, even if she was in a rush to leave. It would only take a minute.
'Why are you so afraid to be seen, anyway?' she asked, as she got the supplies out and tended to the wounds.

 

I got into a bit of a situation is all he thought, trying to avoid thinking about the attack from early that he had on the director. A few memories may have slipped, but faces weren't too clear in his mind, except for that of a cat.
If I'm seen then I'm quite certain that I won't have much 'rest' after all of this anyway he thought, assuming that the town was truelly more like the original hell hole he came from, instead of the civilized town that it was.
