The Sanctuary

Seth continued walking down the peaceful streets "I guess the thing abiout peace is that things get boring" Seth muttered quietly but then stoped walking all of a sudden "I don't know why but something just doesn't feel right" Seth muttered

Drake was in an allyway sitting onto of a few boxes watching many people walk past the ally "man how long has it been since we got out of there. This town is so boring" Drake said and sighed

 

"I prefer to not think of my story", Leon said taking a deep breath before speaking again, "I was locked in a place known as the Orphanage, a place where they would contain those with gifts. It's the reason I barely use my wings, they where torn off every time they grew back. I still don't understand how my wings kept coming back. But eventually I escaped". Leon then continued into the restaurant to get a table for them.

 

Rea gasped when she heard a gunshot. She quickly ran into the building, trying to find the source of the shot. She ran through the hallway and saw Victor with the gun. She looked at him for a moment before looking towards Lerenzo. "Lerenzo?"

 

In the center of the room, Larenzo was bent backwards, staring back at Rea. His grin was gone and was replaced with a nervous smirk.

"Matrix mo fo!"

Making sure he didn't stain his pants, the lunatic scooped up the girl and ran out into the hallway, jumping over the balconey.

 

Rea gasped as she was grabbed. "L-Lerenzo? What was going on back there? I thought you were just going to make a delivery?" She said, slightly surprised by all of this. What had happened? Why was Lerenzo suddenly in a gun fight? Who WAS that old man that shot at Lerenzo? So many questions...

 

Moving quickly, Larenzo threw her onto the back seat of his bike and started to speed away as fast as he could.

"It's a long story. Also, I'm not lerenzo, it's LARenzo."

 

Rei stared at him, grin fading off her face to be replaced with a look of shock. Following him into the restaurant, she sat across from him at the table he got. She wasn't sure how to begin. "Leon, I...I'm sorry. I had no idea. I know the kind of pain you were put through."
Sighing softly, she closed her eyes and said quietly, "The Orphanage...that's where I escaped from too," she opened her eyes and looked at him, and continued, "Which explains why your scent is familiar...we're from the same place."

 

Leon looked at the table. "Looks like we're both hiding from the same thing after all", he replied. "Anyway", Leon said grabbing a menu, "What do you want?", he asked.

 

"Oh... LArenzo... okay." Rea said. "Where are we going, Larenzo?" She asked with innocent, frightened eyes. "No... forget I asked that... um... can I tell you... something?" Rea asked.

 

"Anything you want. But better make it fast. I don't know if we're being chased or not."

 

Rea hesitated for a moment, then spoke, "I am not an ordinary human... I have an ability... some may call it... a 'gift'... I call it a curse... if we are being chased, my ability may help..." Rea said.

 

"Oh, I know you have a gift girly. Everyone in this city has one. To be honest, I don't see how you didn't notice."

Larenzo blinked before letting out a dull groan

"Just realized, I don't know your name."

 

Rei also looked down. "Yeah...but maybe we could form a partnership? We're trying to hide from the same thing, and with our combined gifts we can probably go unnoticed for a while. Two heads are better than one, right?"
Part of her told her that she said this out of the necessity to survive, but another actually wouldn't mind the company. How long had she lived on her own, after all?
"Er...I dunno, you pick something. At this point I really will eat anything. Except greens," Rei said.

 

Rea giggled. "Oh? Do you have one? And, my name's Rea. Don't feel bad for not knowing, after all, you said we'd have time for introductions later." She smiled and took her flute out of her pocket. "Anyway, if we are being chased, I can stop or slow time with this."

 

Larenzo took a sharp corner, tearing down the dank alley way

"Oh, I have one alright. Do you see someone behind us?"

 

Rea looked back and shook her head. "I don't see anyone. But..." She started playing a sweet, soft, melody on her flute. She stopped after awhile. "I bought us 5, maybe 10 minutes." She looked at him with a serious look.

 

Larenzo skidded to a halt, looking about his surroundings.

"What you do?" he asked, an eyebrow arched high.

"You want to relax them away?"

 

"I'll think about it", Leon said to her proposition of a partnership. He quickly chose two meals from the menu, fish and chips (OOC: lol) and got up to order them at the counter before returning to the table. "We just gotta wait now, hopefully it won't be long", he said.

 

Rea giggled. "Figured you'd ask." She cleared her throat. "Remember? I told you I could slow or stop time with my flute." She smiled at him. "I really don't like using this power... but I suppose I can make an exception for your sake." Rea giggled again.

 

"Wow Rea." Larenzo murmured quietly

"You truly one amazing kid. Thanks. I'll make this up to you."
