Shakespeare's dead. Praising him through his books will only make him exist in this world. He doesn't wat to exist. Forget him. Of course, most people don't understand this simple concept lol.

    O wow. That's... interesting Destined. You've gotten better. :)
I'm still wondering; What did happen to Riku after Mickey's funeral 5 years ago, when Crystal, my character, comes in, and will Sora and Kairi get married!? :)

    Oh my god.

This is the worst day of my life.

Every scrap of thought, theory and path i wanted to analyze in Sacrificed is gone. This sucks ass. Unless by some miracle it is in my classroom tomorrow, Sacrificed will be much delayed.

Those with characters, please re-PM the info.

After almost a month, finals galore, and seeing the story come to a screeching halt after losing every scrape of information: We have Chapter 5!!

It's a bit smaller than i had hoped but decided it would be better to not overload it with new stuff (thanks Writer's Fam).

What are you waiting for? Why are you still reading this?! READ!!

    ~Chapter 5~

"Hello and to all that have just joined us, we have Breaking News coming in live from the Kingdom Hearts world of Destiny Island where some sort of a device has exploded. We have right now…yes we are going to a live shot. Allana, what can you tell us?" the news broadcaster stated, her composure resolute, but fear and stress were peaking around the edges.

"Colette…it is…I just can't describe it. What was once a peaceful island inlet is now a nightmare of devastation. If you look below us," she nervously pointed from the hovering gummi ship, " you can only imagine the scope of this horrendous attack." Allana stated as the ship began to slow hold over the island, shifting its bottom mounted camera around till it came to rest on the mile wide crater.

"It's just unbelievable. We are looking directly at the impact crater and all signs of life around it are completely gone. No homes are standing, what would appear to have been a foothill is now no more than a plateau, the rest appears to have fallen onto the town and into the inlet, creating that monstrous tsunami. My God," Allana stopped as the camera swung around and focused in on the remains of Destiny Island, "The quiet Island has been completely swept away…"

The television instantly died, as Sora stumbled around with his hand desperately searching for the power button. The room was dead silent, noise saved for those who couldn't let their emotions be held in check any longer. Kairi clung to Sora's other arm, her body beginning to tremble until she collapsed into his arms, pulling him to the floor.

"It’s…its all gone…" she began to quietly cry, not caring that the strategists saw their new leader be overcome with such emotion.

The room slowly cleared as Queen Minnie began to quietly issue orders, allowing the hero's of Kingdom Hearts all the time they needed. The two remained there for an unknown number of minutes each wondering how the world would continue tomorrow…

    ***

The news report couldn't have been more precise in their description.

All of Destiny Island was washed away, the remnants of dock sat lazily in the empty waterfall spring, the bend palm tree was gone, replaced by a gnarled stump torn and ripped in two. The shacks were gone, replaced by the boulders dislodged by the impact tremor of the bomb and the landslide that had followed. Their childhood was gone.

Sora stood on what remained of the beach as rescue workers and boats continued to sweep debris from the harbor. He watched as a worker reached over the side, and hoisted up a discolored blitzball. Sora cringed, his mind instantly flashing to Wakka and Tidus. A stone emptiness grew from the knot it had been on the gummi ship ride to a full fledged lead weight. So many people had been lost; he hoped his friends were not on the list of the missing.

A quiet cough brought Sora out of his daze as he turned to see Kairi, flanked by four armed body guards walking up the twisted stairs toward the Secret Place.

Kairi stood outside the small cavern opening, watching a stream of muddy water flow toward the sea. Sora swallowed, resting his had on her shoulder. His simple gesture calmed Kairi as the couple bent down and entered the Secret Place.

The guards remained stationed outside and soon, only a faint glow of light beckoned them deeper into the cave. The two rounded the winding rock walls and stood in disbelieve and sadness. Near the back where the oak door that had connected Sora, Kairi and the entire Kingdom together, lay buried under a mass of collapsed rock and water logged debris. The trap door that lay beneath the tree roots that had thrown Sora and Kairi against Nex and the Keyblade War, was now a submerged shaft of water, evidence that only fish would traverse the mine shaft.

Sora walked slowly, gingerly stepping as to not unbalance or injure himself, Kairi followed having decided to shed the royal uniform for her customary pink zipper laden skirt and top. A moment later, they stood in front of the wall of cave drawings, their monument to the legacy of their childhood, now bare, washed away with the tides…including the drawing of Sora and Kairi sharing a papoua fruit.

“So many memories…gone.†Kairi whispered as she knelt down to look at where the pictures had been.
Sora remained staring at the buried door, slowly clenching his fists. “Like…us.â€

The words hung in the air like an impending verdict. Kairi rose slowly, trying to process his statement. “What do you mean, like us?â€

“This last month, this last year. You never wanted to see me or talk to me like we used to and whenever we did, you would always be quiet and thinking of something distant. Then yesterday…when Ashe blamed Riku, you didn’t bat an eye, you didn’t stand up for him.†He turned, his eyes searching for an answer in the dark cave. “You didn’t trust me enough to tell me about the will…â€

“Sora I couldn’t! The Queen wanted it secret until the proper time in case of another uprising or rebellion! You think that I’d want to keep something this important from you for five years?! Every time I saw you smile, I cried inside, wanting to tell you everything, can’t you understand that??â€

“…and what now? Because of this, our world, our HOME is shattered, almost everyone we grew up with or went to school with is either dead or missing, and the one possible lead on Riku is gone.†He bellowed, his emotions boiling over.

“Sora…†Kairi whimpered softly, tears begin to slowly crawl down her cheeks.

“I sacrificed everything on Hollow Bastion so that I could see you smile again….my family is gone because of this Founder and nothing is going to bring them back. I’m losing my grasp on everything. My parents, my memories, Riku, Roxas, I have to know, am I clutching at hope for us?â€

The tears stemmed as Kairi brushed aside those still cascading. She began to speak but stopped as the lighting at the cave entrance shifted. “Your Majesty?†one of the guards called in hesitantly.

Sora turned toward the voice, a quiet sadness in his tone. “Your people need you…â€

Kairi walked toward the entrance, clutching an object fiercely in her hands. “I need you.†She said as she ducked outside.

The metallic scrape of the prison door erupted through the cell, startling the prisoner as he gingerly connected a series of computer chips to a slim motherboard.

“You have done well. The Tesla Bomb obliterated that pathetic world and the three leaders don’t trust each other. War is imminent.†The Founder laboriously laughed beneath his wrapped cloak.

“Is this necessary? What you are planning could destroy everything.â€

The founder turned, his aura instantly transitioning from sadistic pleasure to untapped anger. “What I am planning is not only necessary, it is destined. The unchecked Kingdom destroyed my apprentice Nex and his disciples, and…my son at the hands of those infidels and the girl…†The founder furiously reached forward, an unseen force ripping the prisoner from the bench and slamming him against the metal bars, inches from his face. “It. Is. Balance.â€

The far prison door swung open again, fear growing in the abused man’s eyes, the founder remained pinning him to the gate, smiling wickedly. Stepping from the shadows, two figures wrapped in dark cloaks moved forward to flank the Founder.

“You will finish he machine. These two will make sure of it.†His smile grew menacing as a guttural laugh rolled through the large prison, escaping through a shattered window to wreak havoc on the passing breeze.

The dead quiet of the Secret Place seemed like another world to Sora as he remained staring into the distance, his mind still trying to understand everything and see all the angles. After a handful of moments, Sora shook his head and exited the Secret Place only to be taken aback by the security presence that had grown around Kairi. He rushed forward, gingerly pushing the onlookers out of the way before an opening presented itself and Sora stood in shock as he saw a Mushroom Kingdom Class freighter lifting off. He pushed his way deeper till he stood besides Kairi and a young girl, not much younger than himself.

“So you must be the Key-kid Sora? “ She jokingly laughed, sticking out her hand to shake his. “Pleased to meet you, I’m Melana.â€

Sora feigned understanding until Melana caught the hint. “OH, sorry! I was one of the students on the dig in Macalania…during the attack.â€

Kairi nodded, waving off the guards who appeared to be apprehensive of someone from the Farplane Kingdom who was so close to the incident. Sora was amazed at the emotional turn around Kairi had transitioned from a mere handful of minutes ago, ready to confront the next challenge, his heart felt like breaking.

Melana stared between the two, trying to understand the silent conversation. She sighed and removed a packaged wrapped in a dirt covered black cloth. “My professor…he asked me to bring this to the Queen no matter what, but she redirected my ship here.â€

Melana slowly unraveled the black cloth, and stared at the contents. “Professor Osgood said this was important, before he…†she paused, shaking her head trying to keep back her emotions. “Here.â€

She stepped forward, handing the tablet to Kairi. She looked down, trying to decipher it. As she struggled, she glanced up at Sora as if to ask for his help, but stopped, a pain barely crossing her face, but her eyes betrayed her. Sora stepped forward and stood beside Kairi as the tablet came into view.

The tablet consisted of a series of words transcribed hastily on the metal tablet. The letters appeared to be in English, but the words made no sense. Sora glanced up. “Is this some kind of code?â€

“No, it’s in Al Behd, a dialect from Spira. Here:†she said, stepping forward and examining the tablet. “I was able to translate most of it on the way from Macalania.

Dfu talytac uv cihnecac yku, dra Ihejanca fyc Uha. Bayla naekhat cibnasa, ihdem dra tyo dra tynghacc fyc punh. The first section translates into ‘Two decades of sunrises ago, the Universe was One. Peace reigned supreme, until the day the darkness was born. A man of fear and terror walked the road of power, and with each step, stars fell to his sway. Until a young woman brought down the tyranny, sealing the man inside a crypt of all those that he had sacrificed. His last words were spoken in an unknown tongue.’ The last section translates to: Transcribed, his dying words were and hidden from the eyes of the sky. I pray that the darkness shall never awaken. The father of those heartless and nobodies. The Ruler.’â€

“The one thing that I can’t understand is that.†She stressed, pointing to a series of characters that appeared to be small images in between the Al Behd. “I know it’s not Al Behd, but Professor he thinks…he…thought, that someone in this Kingdom might know.â€

“Thank you Melana, I’ll have our linguists start right away. Iâm glad to see that you were able to see this to us safely.†said Kairi, genuinely smiling.

“You don’t need to call the linguists on this. “Sora stated, examining the tablet, recalling where he had seen these markings before. “I know just the man who can help us.â€
