The Red War

Cherry was alone as usual. She was sat cross legged on her bed her music playing loud around her, she sang along quietly. She slowly rubbed her soft dressing gown that she was wearing, she wished her life was always as simple as this. Her tummy rumbled and she laughed. She hadn't eaten since breakfast the day before, so food was probably a good idea. With regret she swang her legs out from under her and got off the bed to get some food.

 

Nox headed down the stairs of his appartment. The elevator hadn't run seice before the Turn. So why would it chose today to work.

 

After a while Hazuki made it to the place where she usually sang which was a popular music store. The owner had already set up the equipment in front of the store for Hazuki like he did every day. Hazuki had to give the owner half of the money she earned in one week which left both of them with a lot of money. Hazuki walked over to the cd player and took out some of the cd's in her bag. " What to sing hmmm" She said to herself singing.

 

Cherry made herself some food at a leasurly pace, humming as she went along. Her eyes quickly widened as she glanced at the calender. She looked at the clock, she was going to be late! She crammed all the food into her mouth and ran upstairs in rush, she couldn't believe she'd forgot. She opeded her wardrobe and quickly scanned her clothes, looking for something decent to wear.

 

Nox headed out of his apartment building and began to walk to his car. It was an old silver Eclipes. Nox had bought it at a used car dealership for a rather good bargin. He got into his car and started the engin.

Nox drove tothe ISA building. The ISA stood for Inderlander Security Agency. It was founded under president Regan get Inderlanders to poilce Inderlanders. It was a great idea and is still at the top of the list of the US respected agencies.

 

Hazuki put in one of the cd's into the cd player. " Guess today I'll just sing random songs" she said to herself. Hazuki waited for some people to notice that she was about to perform before singing anything. As a few people stopped to watch her Hazuki pressed play, turned the volume down a bit to where people could hear her sing and the music play, and stood in front of the people.

The ringing of an alarm clock loudly echoed off the walls of a room. Neisa sleepily turned it off and sat up. She hesitantly got up and walked away from bed. A quick glance at the clock showed she was going to be late if she didn't hurry. She began to get dressed and ready in a panicked speed; as soon as she finished dressing, Neisa shoved some breakfast in her mouth as she ran out the door. The travel time would be more than halved if she sprinted; as she did.

After a long wait in traffic Nox finaly made it into the ISA parking lot. He wasn't important enough to have his own space. So he was stuck serching for a space in the grauge.

 

Saint was looking down, grumbling, when he looked up, noticing a girl walking his way. She had blue hair, and seemed to be reading a book. "Hey look, extra cash..." he muttered to himself, as he walked towards her. Then, as if on accident, he bumped into her. The quick slip of the hand in the confusion, and he snagged a wallet out of her pocket. It seemed some what light, but it would do for the time being. "Sorry." He said, and he kept walking along, as if nothing had happend.

 

"Oh um excuse me." Mizuki said when she bumped into the man. Looking up at him, she noticed a little bit of amusement on his face, he looked like he had recently gotten in a fight, and she could also tell that fighting was something usual for him. His scent, which was stronger and different than most wafted through the air. Turning towards him, she looked him straight in the eye. "I...Can I have my wallet back please?" Her face showed no anger just shyness, like she was asking this stranger to help her with something instead of returning something that he had stolen from her.

 

Hazuki felt a bit nervous but dealt with it. The music store owner opened an empty guitar case in front of Hazuki and put it on the ground. Hazuki started singing "Here comes Goodbye by Rascal Flatts" on que. She watched as more people stopped to watch her sing and how half of the people put money into the empty guitar case.

 

Nox parked his car and shut it off. He grabed his keys and headed into the ISA building. Nox went iside and waved to Helen the vampire resiponist. She smiled sweetly at him and gave a wink.
Nox smiled. He and Helen had gotton together at the chirstmas party. It had been a one night thing but Nox still had fond memories. Nox headed to the elvator and pressed up. He waited for it to arive.

 

Saint had been quite amused, thinking it was too easy, until the moment she asked for her wallet back. It astounded him. The fact that she had noticed him take it was one thing, but it was much more incredible the way she had asked for it back. The fact that she was so nice about it. She didn't scream, or make a fuss, or anything. "Well....why should I?" he asked, in some what of a bratty voice. Any sensible person would have just ran, but the way she said it almost made him feel.....guilty.

 

Mizuki could see the guilt in his eyes, which made him seem a lot...nicer than most of the thugs that hung around those parts, even though he had stolen her wallet and was now refusing to give it back, but she figured most would have just left by now. She fiddled with her book before replying, "Well...I......um...I have rent due tomorrow."

 

Saint stared for a moment longer. It was strange. the girl made him feel as if he had just betrayed a friend of his whom he had known for the longest of time. The feeling was new. He usually didn't have to care much because of the way people acted. This one showed kindness though. Something that he never had seen before in a person. Or at least, none towards him.
"Here..." he said, holding out the wallet, not looking her directly in the eye. The **** am I doing he asked himself in his mind, not knowing why he was returning something that he has just stolen.

 

The elevator finaly arived and Nox got on. It was oddly empty that day. Nox didn't complain. It was just part of his job to make note of things that were off.

 

Cherry had shoved on some clothes in a hurry and ran a brush through her hair before darting downstairs, grabbing her bag and bursting through the door. She quickly locked the door, her hand kept slipping with the fiddly key before it was finally locked. She turned round and sprinted down the path, she would be murdered if she was late.
