C'est un très bel ouvrage d'art!

I must say, i do like your style. It has a very Expressionism feel about it.

What I like most about this piece:
    1. Beautiful use of color, as well as seamlessly perfect transitions from each one.
    2. The fish woman looks good in the middle due to almost perfect vertical symmetry.
    3. I love her facial expression, as well as the color of the mascara, and the little red dots on the sides of her lips.
    4. Her hair is very well done. You have done a good job with keeping it natural in color with the rest of the piece, and even made it distinctly obvious under water. Especially since they are practically the same color.
    5. I really love the lilypad hat. It made me happy:) Looks good with the hair.

    Things that could use improvements:
    1. I like the skulls at the bottom, however they are unproportional. Some of the eyes sockets seem to be at an awkward angle compaired with the rest of the skull. As well as size; some have really flat heads on top. Also be careful of the nasal cavity. On a skull, the top part of the nose does protrude a bit, but where the cartilage is, does not. It doesn't remain on a skull when someone dies, and thats why you see a cavity to begin with. I encourage you to observe pictures of skulls. This may also help with facal proportions. Afterall, the skull is the frame for the face.
    2. I feel that the flower is a tad too vague in color. It looks good, but there needs to be a bit more contrast from lighter pedals and darker ones.

This was such a pleasure to critique! I really enjoyed your work, simply marvelous!

I am curious of two things however: 1. I really would love to know the meaning of this piece in more detail if i could. 2. I'm almost certain you used Gouache, however i am not certain.

I love how she is a fish, very lovely. I sure hope she isn't "koi!" (get it, koi = coy... ah well bad pun.)

Anyhow, great job, i really loved it. And i hope to see more of your work in the future! Keep it up!

Ah, je vous remercie beaucoup. Je suis content d'entendre ça \o/

Your critique was wonderful. I will take it into account :] Especially the skulls, though I found it troubling to add more change to them since it might take your eyes of the girls face. But I will take your advice, merci.

    To answer your curiousness:-
    1) This was a dream I had, with a rather a terrible ending. I can't really describe this piece in more detail, although I can tell that the girl took heads because she was lonely and wanted them to be her friends ... better left a mystery xD
    2) I didn't use Gouache at all, just your normal watercolors.

Ahahaha, yes I am familiar with Koi. I studied the fish and yes she is Koi.
The reason is that once I read in a book that if a human were to transform into a fish, it would either be a goldfish or koi.

No worries, I will continue to post more ^^
    Merci Beaucoup

I was kinda thinking it would be a nightmare-like dream... Well you did create quite a well recreation of it. It's almost like a window to your dream:)

Wow, i am amazed that you used just watercolors... the way it is presented is very well done very detailed that it does look like you used gouache.... Hahaa!

Yeah i really did like this piece, and like i said before, i do hope to see more of your work!

Taffy! Whoa, girl, this is amazing. I love the concept, and how it came from a dream. Dreams can be so so inspirational :3

Anyway, I really love how the background is done. Which medium did you use for it? The texture is outstanding. I also love how it really looks like water, and the blending of the colours. Speaking of, I love the colours you've chosen. They mix together really well. the whole piece is very pleasant to look at. The only thing that sort of does bug me is just the skulls at the bottom. I love the touch of creepiness with it (as much as the fish part freaks me out, but that's just me. I'm terrified of them). They could use a little work, make them look more detailed and really just up to pace with the rest of the drawing. Skulls are real tricky to draw, you've almost got them!

But seriously, this is so amazing. I really love it, of course.

Thank you Dinny for your awesome Critique.
I will work on the skulls just because you said so :] Even though I think they will probably distract the viewers from the "fish girl". I'll try extra hard and practice on drawing some more skulls (maybe in another piece).

The background was done with just plain old watercolors (one which is very old and never used since my first try back in 7th grade).

I'm really HAPPY you loved my piece. I'm very greatful.
I will tell my dreams to "dream" for me some more haha.
