Sony The Order 1886

As much as I want to absolutely love this game, it's not showcasing it very well in my honest opinion. It looks like a generic 3rd-Person shooter. First announced last year, I saw some potential as it was revolved in a steampunk London, but so far, all we've seen is shootouts. I REALLY hope they can make this more appealing with more interesting gameplay and not just sections of Shoot-and-Cover.

On a side note, may I just say this game looks GORGEOUS.

I am so very hype

Those environments look gorgeous, especially the church that they showed. I'm excited to see this relationship between science & the warriors (I'm guessing Tesla will be a fairly major character). I'm hoping that, through the game, science will progress that is how you'll receive cooler & better weapons. Also happy to see that there seems to be some costume variation -- we knew that from the last round of info, when everyone was complaining that their outfits didn't look as intricate as before, but now we're seeing Galahad without the coat & all.

I'm beginning to wonder whether this game is too scary for me. ALSO THAT BEST NOT BE ISABEAU'S LIFELESS BODY GALAHAD IS CARRYING

I've honestly not really been all that hyped for the game. It just looks like a pretty but standard third person shooter, which sounds very last gen. The length of the game isn't an issue for me if the game itself is really good. But given the reviews I'm not willing to pay full price for an okay game that's only 5-7 hours long, maybe when it's cheaper.

Honestly the game feels like a launch title that's over a year late. A pretty game that shows off the games hardware but only a passable playing game.

 

It's been more or less reamed by reviews but that hasn't stopped me from cancelling my preorder. Will definitely post my thoughts on it tomorrow night as it doesn't seem like it'll take me too long to get through it, but most places are saying that if you have a place nearby that will rent new games, pick up The Order. Otherwise wait for it to come down in price.

It would be the perfect rental game. Such a shame that the only type of rental services left have subscription models. Would make good weekend rental.
