I love KotOR II mainly on its potential. It could have been an amazing game, perhaps even better than the first, if it had been given the time it deserved. But yeah, given how long they've been developing TOR, I doubt it will have the problems KotOR II did--not to mention that this seems like a very long-term project. Since it's an MMORPG, people will (hopefully) play it for a long time, and Bioware can constantly update it, as they seem to plan to. With a RPG like KotOR II, sure you can release patches, but you're not going to do something on the scale that they seem to want to with TOR.

Yeah, I am quite curious as to what the system requirements will be. I think they have a good design/art style though that can be made to look good even on low settings.

I hear traces of the posh-British in Satele's voice--I mean, it suited Bastila perfectly, but I'm not sure it's the same for Satele. Satele seems more easy-going and confident. But meh, I should stop complaining, it's fantastic voice acting. ♥ Just seemed a little too Bastila carbon copy to me. c: She didn't talk much, though, so I suppose we'll have to wait until we hear more.

That's what I think I love so much about TOR so far! They're sticking to those very Star Wars concepts; sure it's kind of a cliche, but it's just asdfghjkl; fantastic. ♥

It'll get suppot along the way, no doubt i'm sure. The whole reason you pay a subscription to an MMO is so they can constantly improve it and build upon it. It may have a few problems at the beginning, but i'm sure on the most part it's a clean game. I trust Bioware.

They've said that the system requirements are generally low. It's so that a broad audience can play it. I would recommend upgrading your PC for this, but only if you have the money. Otherwise, try it out on your current PC.

Satele's probably only going to be that important of a character if you pick Jedi Guardian or Consular I imagine. You might see her as an ally as a trooper or SMuggler or fight her as a Sith, but see her mainly as you Jedi Master in giving you missions and training. You think she's a descendant of Revan? I do personally. But the question is when did that happen? Did Revan and/or the Jedi Exile ever return from the Unknown Region again? What happened to Malachor V? What happened to the Old Sith Empire? So many questions I wonder if they'll be answered in this installment.

I am a Star Wars nerd when it comes to KotOR. I wonder if they'll ever make a true KotOR 3 sequel?

I'm a little afraid of the pay-to-play, to be honest. :x I mean, I know they've said it's an enjoyable game as a single-player, but will you have to pay for that? I could see myself potentially getting into the MMO aspects of it, too, but working minimum wage might not allow it, haha.

Yeah, I'm not planning to poor like $1000 into it, I'm probably just talking a decent video card (and a new PSU, since mine couldn't really power a video card).

I plan to play as a Jedi Knight (Sentinel!), though, haha.
And yeah, she's more or less confirmed to be Revan's descendent. The Aurebesh on her Biography page says "Blood of Revan," there's the comic, and the fact that Bastila and Revan are the greatest couple evar. ♥
The popular theories are that either yes, Revan did return, or that he knocked Bastila up before he left. Personally I'm open to anything so long as they don't pull an Anakin, lol.

I doubt TOR will be able to deliver as much as, say a KotOR III would in terms of answers to what happened to Revan, the Exile, etc. I think Bioware is trying to reassure gamers that it will to lessen the rage at the fact that, as of now, there won't be a KotOR III. But, if TOR does really well, I could see them maybe making a KotOR III. Likewise, if TOR is a total flop, they might try a safer bet like KotOR III. It's difficult to say.

As of the P2P aspect of the game, It might be "worth" it (Not that using $1000 would be a good investment), but they can't make single-player P2P, if it's offline, they would lose far too much money on that.
Anyway, I'll definitely try the MMO, All I've gotta do is to build a new computer.
Because my current one is dead, and it's way cheaper than buying a pre-built one.

    And Jedi Knight ftw.

Oh yeah, I'm just saying, I'm more of a single-player. I've never been into online play, admittedly I've never really tried it, but I never really saw a need to. I know I'd be missing out on a lot, but they say the game is story-driven, and that's what I'm interested in. The MMO aspects, while they could be fun, are extras to me.

Well, if you haven't been into online play, I see why you'd think it over. However, if they use enough time to develop the multiplayer aspect of the game, I think it might turn out great. Do you know whether or not you use your single-player character as the multiplayer character?

Also, the MMO aspect of the game would increase the value tenfolds (if it's good), because even though many people just want to finish the single-player story, (I assume) there would be several other stories in the multiplayer, which would add to the experience.

I think it's just about time to revive this thread?
There have been released new videos, Beta has been played, Early release is today, if I'm not mistaken.
I will buy this game, but I'm afraid my laptop won't be able to handle it... A new computer will be built, though.
Anyway, have you played the Beta or Early release? Thoughts?

Myself, I haven't played it, but I've seen it and it looks pretty damn epic to me. I am still going with Jedi. I will probably make another Sith character though. It is possible I'll do the story for each of the other character types, but I'll see when I actually start playing it.

I've got the game, played the last Beta and the Early Access, and alll I can say is:

    Top ****ing notch!

The game fits like a glove, even though i'm no MMO player, the experience is satisfying, the difficulty is good, the combat flows, and there is a proper emotional story everywhere you begin to look.

People i've grouped with have beeen friendly, and it adds an extra layer. And it feels polished, no massive glaring bugs anywhere, and the class system is varied enough to always be interesting.

Get it, and let's play some time.

Let's see in small doses of all four types of characters, so Smuggler, Jedi Consular, Bounty Hunter and Sith Warrior.

They all work in very unique ways, with the consular using area effect and telekinetic force powers, the Smuggler using cover and fast and powerful shots, the bounty hunter using missles and close quarters take downs, and finally the sith warrior pounding with lightsaber rage attacks that cut through anything.

I assume that their opposites on the other faction works in a similar manner. things start to cahnge when you pick a specialiasation at level 10, but even then you can still fill the role of damage dealer, or healer, or tank if the situation demands.
Companions are the most useful thing i've found so far, they give support, and can take quite a beating.

    Must play more.
