    Don't bash nooobshitz.

Just a discussion thread and place to recommend songs and wutnot.

    Topik;

top MCs? You must back it up with some supporting factss.

Imo top would be as such

    1. Lil Wayne - C'mon. Lollipop was a dance version of his rap ****, and he needed to make up for it for those who are lyrics spazzy. He **** on it with "A millie". Murda'. If you understand what he's saying...woah. He killed it. I recommend hearing 6 Minutes (Of death), Knuck if you buck freestyle, a milli and Nothin' on Me.
    2. Juelz - Man, this dood is so underrated .He should be at the top right now, but no one knows what the REAL rap is. Nothin' on me is a prime example, he killed Wayne on his own song. His punch lines are so hott. The song Curious has him featured in it, he murdas that too.

Finally! We needed a topic like this. Thanks Pepto. ;P

Anyways, my top MCs are...(in no particular order)

    1. Lupe Fiasco - One of the more under-rated rappers in the game, but is still a great rapper. He paints a picture in your mind when he raps and his flow can vary from very fast and rapid paced flows (such as in his song "Go Go Gadget Flow"), to a very relaxed lazy flow like in his song "Paris, Tokyo." He also hides a hidden story behind five of his songs from his first two albums, but you'll have to find out about that yourself. ;P At first, I didn't think much about his him in his first album (except in the song "He say, She say" which was so beautiful, and true that it almost brought tears to my eyes and I really liked "The Instrumental") but when I randomly saw Lupe's "The Cool" album sitting on a shelf one day, I just bought it for the heck of it. But when I sat down and listened to it, it really changed my opinion of Lupe. I realized that he can take a song and make it the best thing you ever heard with nice lyrics such as "When there is no rain/and everything's dry/ she would cry/ just so I could drink the tears from her eyes!" and if you listen to the whole album, it makes you sit down and think about what he saying and what metaphors he makes in some songs. So, you should get his album "The Cool", listen and you'll know what I'm talking about. I may even dare say that he's better then Lil Wayne.

    2. Soulja Boy - Now, I know that you may be thinking that I'm crazy or something, but hear me out here. I think that Soulja Boy is a great MC because he not only created a dance that has thousands of teens and celebs doing it, or because he changed the ringtone game by breaking the record for most ringtones sold. But, I'm talking about his connection of the fans and him knowing what his fans really want. Some teenagers now-a-days want a song to bump to and dance to and something that probably says nothing lyrically-wise, but something that is there's and no one else's. He's created music that may not be approved by grown folks, but something that can be listened by young people. Plus, he has recorded over 100 songs and he wasn't signed during most of them. Even when he wasn't signed, he still had an underground fanbase via the internet. If he could go to a party, perform his song, and have the audience dance and sing along to it BEFORE he got signed, then he's doing something right.

    More is on the way~

Actually, I was gonna' mention Lupe but I had to leave for lunch. Go go gadget flows a perfect example. This dude is a real MC. He'd be up with Wayne, but wouldn't necessarily kill him. There are parts where he kills weezy thoughh =\

you have a point with Soulja boi, but that isn't what MC's about. What you describe is a sellout imho. He's good because he gives the fans what he wants and he works hard for his rep. But an MC speaks truth, and doesn't only care about the cash.

    80's + 90's rap = WIN
00's rap = Not so much

Ok, now for an intelligent comment to back up my claims :). Don't worry, this isn't a flame post. Just criticism.

Well 80's and 90's rap was great. The lyrics were well-written for the most part, and the rhythms were catchy and fun to dance to. My generation grew up with MC Hammer, the guy OWNS! He had so many good songs, that were actually written. WITH WORDS!

00's rap has three good artists in my opinion. Nelly (older stuff), 50 cent (older stuff) and Eminem. These guys are the only ones who know how to write more than one sentence (I'm talking to YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU Souljia Boy!). Other than them, most rap now adays goes as follows:

(Intro) Insert: "YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU", "MONEY IN THE BANK", or some reference to a girl/drugs/money
(Verse 1) Insert: One of the unused phrases above
    (Chorus) Insert: Random syllables/insturmentals
(Repeat verses and choruses for 3 minutes 30 seconds and get a Billboard Top 20 placement)

Ok, an exaggeration, however it is true for some rap, and 90% of popular rap. Overall, though, most popular rap today is too repetitive for my taste.

Most popular rap is no rap at all, honestly. Most average don't understand true rap. They just need a good beat and a vocoder. That means Tpain, and now...weezy and even Kanye.

Juelz Santana is a freakin' lyrical god. Monster Music is just flat out poppin' I can't get enough of his stuff kills them all.

Atmosphere is a fairly unknown kinda guy, but like hell if his stuff doesn't make you think, its real **** going in through his lyrics and the beats and rhythms that are used just blow your mind. His CD's always progress in some sort of positive way just gets you going and is stuff that just about everyone can related to, don't matter where you come from.

T.I. may be one of those popularized rappers that give people the ammo to say that they don't like rap because its all about degredation of women and ****. But like it or not this guys got flow and when he spits you know it, guys just crazy with some of the hooks he pulls off.

Dilated Peoples are from around my 'hood but they are about as big as Atmosphere they have some crazy lyrics, and they can get a crowd pumping like nothing. Plus they are featured with hella lot of people. They only been around for a minute but they got 5 CD and a bunch of EP's and they get their stuff out their. Amazing group to see live they just getting crackin' up in the concert.

Immortal Technique needs no intro cause you can't say this guy ain't tight. Hes up there where he stays cause he is in a genre of his own. About as realistic as any rapper has ever been.

Plus just a bunch of other greats, Ludacris, Keak Da Sneak, Kanye, Mos Def, Sweatshop Union. They are all just amazing you can't say enough about these groups they just keep things straight.

TI has flow. Ever since ASAP did I look at his lyrics more deeply.

Juelz Santana imo beats wayne. Kanye's followin' waynes footsteps though, including that t-voicee. You've heard his verse on "Put On" by Young Jeezy amirite?

I dont have a list, but I really like Lupe Fiasco. The way he raps and his lyrics are better imo than 50 cent or Kanye West.

And I hate to say this but generally 00's rap is terrible. Compared to the rapping ability and lyrics of classics like NWA, Ice Cube, A Tribe Called Quest, etc. people like Soulja Boy SUCK. Thats all I have to say on that.

Naw I actually just downloaded Tha Carter III, and I gotta say I love weezy's new ****. This is poppin' right here, but I still am going with Juelz over him.

Another good group to look into pretty old school, but still the **** is The Neptunes or N.E.R.D.

NERDS are monsters. I have C3, lyrics are amazing. And Juelz kills Wayne on his verse in "Nothin' On me". My faves gotta' be dr. carter, let the beat build, 3peat and deff. a milli. Phone home isn't bad either.

Oh, I also heard that wayne and Juelz gonna' do another mixtape togethaa' ;D

That would be up there on the pimp status listen.

If you can get a hold or Ratatat Remixes Vol I and II its a band called Ratatat doing beats and a bunch of bomb ass songs, got people like T.I., K West, Notorious BIG, and a grip of others

Highly Highly recommended and its real rap not crap stuff on the radio rap.

Eh when it comes to people like 3-6 and Cham. I am really not to much into it, they just have some awesome beats and all but I am not really getting into it. I am way more into some underground or like late 90s early millin. rap.

Oh another to check out it Fabolous, a great rapper right there. He has a couple of platinums and some singles but the album ghetto fabolous is just brackin' lets put it that way it pretty straight.
