'Kay, so my thoughts are we should agree on a song to cover as a group so we can see how we sound together before we start working on our own stuff. As a test of sorts, you know? Thoughts?

That'd be fine with me; I have a feeling a Kingdom Hearts-themed band would sound pretty pop-punk-ish anyway. Our synth and strings people would have to do a bit of improv, though.

That sounds good, or maybe a Green Day song. We could have fun with Boulevard of Broken dreams, I've been meaning to find a use for the gating effect I have. It all really depends what our sound is going to be. Maybe even something darker, like Freak on a Leash, I have the multitrack masters for it.

 

Boulevard actually sounds like a bit of a better idea, mainly because everyone could get involved with it without having to make stuff up. However if I can't find the part for rhythm guitar, I might have to either make up some kind of chord progression or just play the lead part an octave lower. :v

 

Well instead of that gated guitar at the beginning that repeats throughout the song, you could get some chords going. Also, there's a good place for rhythm guitar during the chorus.

 

Btw, I'm not doing vocals, it's editing vocals. =)

Also, my MSN isn't working for now...so, do you mind sharing what we have so far?
And I think that if it's a Kingdom Hearts based band...it should sound Alternative, with a bit of Punk-Pop(ish) as Advent said.
I might be able to use some really good equipment during the summer...so I can do mixing as well.(I guess.)

 

I love the sound of Pop-Punk, I think this is a good direction to go in. And yeah, Boulevard would be good to cover, just because, like, everyone knows it and it would be a good cover to measure each other's skills.

 

I think we've agreed on Boulevard for the most part in that case. As long as there are no huge objections, I think we should go along with it. It'll be good since punk songs and the like don't get too much harder to play than that as far as each instrument's part goes. Also, edited your description, Trixter.

 

Alright, I'll get to working on the piano backing, unless Stardust, you'd like to do it. The drums, synths and some other extras.

Alright guys, if we all decide on Boulevard of Broken Dreams, here's some drums to work off of. I didn't bother doing any real mixing yet so the sound isn't as good as it'll be in the end. It's the same pattern and structure of the original song, and the BPM is 167. If you have any problems downloading, let me know, and I'll put it on another file sharing site.
