The new One Piece

It was a lot better then 4kids's version!!!
The only problem with it was Sanji's voice, for some reason, it didn't feel like it matched him....
Anyways, THANK GOD FOR GETTING RID OF THOSE STUPID ACCENTS!!!!
Also for getting rid of that god forsaken lolly pop!!! (I hardly noticed they removed the cigarette)

 

I know no more lollipop but still it's zoro and grand compass was said (but they promise to change that in the unedited DVD's). i also heard that Doc Q will have an accent though... let's pray this voice actor handles the accent well.

There will have to be a Trace I'm afraid Gamfreak but they promised to make it Ace in the DVd's (I'm more hyped for the DVD's really).

I literally had a fanscream when I heard Robin's new voice (I even did a five minute song called 'no more southern hick, Ms Sunday. It's the sexy, professional Miss AllSunday').

I need chopper and Luffy's voices to grow on me though.

 

Luffy's voice is fine. :/
Chopper(sounds more girly), Sanji(voice doesn't fit his love chatter), and Zoro (sounds a little too tough....) have the problems.

 

No I don't hate Luffy's voice but I'm not in love with it (I need to get used to it if you understand what I mean). Chopper's voice is something that has to be rougher when he is in heavy,arm and jump point. Sanji couldn't do the love banter but I'm sure he'll improve and as for Zoro I like it but there were parts when I thought it was Piccolo. Usopp now has the real humor he should have. Nami's is better and less dramatic (this one suits her) and I now praise Stephanie Young for her Robin revival.

They had to remove a funny pun about Masira, gamefreak (cos his japanese name sounds similar to monkey I think and he looks like one doesn't he?).

Do you think they'll say Enel is God or something else? and what about Enel's priests?

 

They might go with the One Piece Grand Adventure idea and call him the sky lord.
But, if they do that, then they will change Enel's name. :/

 

I wish I could see the new ones T^T. Someone give me a TV station!!! And I pray to God that Steve Blum's going to do Ace's voice. I ALWAYS thought Steve Blum suited him.

Ya know what, Luffys old voice was way better than the new one. :/ It matched his personality more, and it sounded so right on him. They should have kept Zolo, and Sanji.......D:

Last time i checked One Piece is Oda's version of earth in the 1500's or 1600's (I'd even risk 1700's due to unpredictibility of chronology).

I'm more shocked that Toei never consulted with Oda over the colour scheme of some characters as we have learned in the 2008 calender Barthlomew Kuma was meant to wear an orange shirt and have brown hair plus his bible was gold (in the anime he had a dark blue shirt and black hair and hid bible was blue and colourful).

You think they'll keep bart's bible or change it to something like 'Helen Joy's fictional Romance' or ' the ways of a calm man' or they'll make it a titleless book?

Oda is soooo bad for putting so much religion in. (though I don't blame him) and I think our best bet for Skipeia is 'Sky Lord Enel' and maybe his 'Four punishers'??? (my idea instead of priests and disregarding that Vassal's turd they used in games).

They better not use that crappy IQ [insert ordeal here] test and instead use something like Trial of [insert ordeal here]

My dub idea's sound acceptable to me (like 'Miss Doublefinger' not becoming Ms 'New Year's Eve' and instead being my fan-dubbed to 'Miss Happy New Years')

or my hopes of keeping Foxy's fruit as it's japanese name (thus being Noro beam keeping the moron beam joke). Robin better have her japanese attack names cos it is helping children learn spanish numbers in my eyes (C'mon in britain they teach spanish and french so it's about time they incorporate it into american land for you americans and us if we ever get the episodes).

Funi better hope they can grab the Laboon arc before they get to thriller bark arc or english only people are going to ask who's laboon and then again in Enies Lobby the giants talk about their leaders whom are on little garden (but that can be turned into friendly pep talks wth flash backs removed).

then they'll have to skip or edit the oceans dream arc cos it mentions warshp island (see how 4kids screwed over one piece to death).

Well hope and maybe some protests can get 4kids to release the episodes (I'm sure a sign saying 'The one piece rap was sh*t' and 'Your puns are evil give up that license now!!!' will make em budge if we group and boycott alfred Kahn who dammaged pokemon even worse I believe.

 

The dub is fantastic. Characters for the most part fit. Though Zoro sounds too much like piccolo for my likings, but that isn't a problem at all.

I can understand why they kept in Trace for the airred version to avoid confusing for those who don't know that 4kids killed it.

 

So...wait is this some sort of uncut DVD, or a new version of the show on TV? Someone please clarify this for me.

 

They have to keep some things edited on the TV (Zoro stays Zolo and Ace is once again TRace plus Sanji isn't smoking but neither is he sucking a lollipop)

They are however releasing unedited billingual DVd box sets with 13 episodes in each of them (in those the english versio will say Zoro and Sanji will be smoking as much as he does in the original). the other language will of course be the orginal japanese one (they'll probably use the japanese opening for the unedited english version on that DVd as well)

I was actually a little disappointed. *sweatdrop*

Firstly, Sanji's old voice was part of the reason he was my favorite character. Zolo now sounds like a 50 year old man, but my biggest disappointments was the new theme song.

Call me pathetic, call me what you will, but I was in love with that Rap. It was corny and horrible in the best way. The new one is just way too sappy.

 

For those words Misty, I hate you...

That rap needs to be burned and the new song is a dublation of the orginal song they use (someone isn't a sub fan I guess). Sanji's voice was terrible Misty it didn't suit his suave personality + Ladies man attitude.

To each their own I guess but I'm sure myself and most of Kaizoku-fansubs will say funimation have saved one piece (if one piece original version was a dog and 4kids was a car they ran over that dog and reversed and drove over it again and again 999 times at least).

The new voices suit the original cast so much better. And the intro....Jesus how can you perfer it. The new open like cafia said is a dub of the original opening for that part of the story. While the rap was an just.........utter ****. >_>

Maybe Zoro's voice is a tad deep, and his 4kids voice wasn't bad compared to most.

 

Darkandroid I used my polite metaphor for 4kids and one piece =D

the voice acting more superb with funi than 4kids but we have to aknowledge this is their first few episodes so you have to undertsand it won't be the best (we gave 4kids 104 episodes worth of chances so they can stay as dead ducks). I think when funi sink their teeth into the skipeia arc Zoro and Sanji will sound a lot better (i'm sure funi take our opinions into count don't you?)

I heard Doc Q's funimation voice will have an accent and I'm worried how that'll work...
