"What? Are you ok?" Elle asked with just a hint of over-enthusiaism and excess worry. The girls were hit with another wave of unexplicable giggling causing the other members of the class to look confused at what they had found so amusing.

 

"It wasnt me..."jordan said"lyra's in the hospital wing..."

 

The giggling girls fell silent "Oh my god! Is she OK? Is umm..." she dropped her voice so only Jordan could hear "it anything to do with the B-A-B-I-E?" Elle asked not realising she'd spelt it wrong.

 

"Yeah,she had it,its boy...my parents are with her right now....i think she's asleep though,they're bother fine.."

 

"Oh my god, but it's like sooo early!" She exclaimed quietly.

 

"I know....he's so small...but they says he'll be fine..."jordan said

 

"I hope so, poor Lyra must be terrified for the kid..." Elle said biting her finger.

 

"well...she seems really happy....but she's probly hiding the worry...thats another reason i tried not to be late....i wanted to go see her after this...then go play the quittch match..."jordan said

 

"Do you think she'd mind if I came with you? It's just I wanna see if she's alright for myself, if you understand..." she said quietly.

"I can imagine, she must be bored outta her mind..." Elle mumbled.

 

"Yeah..."He said

 

"And she'd have nothing to think about except worrying about the baby... So that'd be slowly eating away at her... Getting more and more fearful with each waking moment... It must be terrible..." Elle said her voice filled with fear, but in a moment so breif that even the merest flicker of an eyelid would of meant missing it completley, a dark smirk crossed her lips. The after thoughts of it glinted in her palest blue eyes for just a few moments longer than the smirk had done.

 

"yeah,but she wont have to do anything alone,cos shes got me,mum and dad,grandpa and grandma,uncel albus,alex....so she just needs to ask and well help.."

 

"But you know Lyra. It's not often she does ask for help is it? I mean, look how long it took the Zane issue to surface. And I belive it got forced out of her either by person or circumstance every time." Elle's high school cheerleader voice had slowly melted away, the girls around her knew what that ment. And each one know seemed to be more interested in their schoolwork than each others make up and boyfriend dramas.

 

"hmm yeah...."jordan said"i get your point..."

 

"And every time she looks at that child, who and what do you think she's going to think of?" Elle said hanging her head. "It's awful to even imagine, let alone to of lived it... And to have a constant reminder of it at that. A tie that'll bind them together for ever. No matter what."

 

"yeah...."jordan said"son of b*tch is lucky i dont hunt him down and kill him myself...."said bitterly

 

"From what I've managed to gather, Casey's planning on doing that himself." Elle said looking up at Jordan through her long chesnut brown fringe so she could see his face, but he couldn't see her. Elle was a throwback to the old Malfoy ways, sneaky, underhanded but there was still a lot of her father's side in her. Unfortunatley the compulsive lying was thrown in there from both sides as well.
