    Okay...

I just saw episode 0. The movie one. I'm officially weirded out. But as I've downloaded all of them, I might as well not waste bandwidth.

I watched the second/first one and I'm starting to like this. Haruhi is so lollable.

I loved it, poor Mikuru-chan....I'll always love you!

I loved that episode where the computer geek vansihies into a closed space and they go to save him (Minus haruhi) and they turn to the camelcricket

Kyon: Do you know what camelcrickets look like? For those of you who don't I would like to share with you what I'm looking at now....What is this?"

    Koizumi: A camelcricket.

    Kyon: Got it...thanks captain oblivous

Nah. Something like this can only last for a while. You can't have a long running show with this intensity. It needs to be constrained to a low number. Sure, Haruhi's obsession with using Asahina as a loli is funny, but it can only last so long before it is the same plot point being reused over and over, becoming groan inducing.

All the same, this is really funny.

I watched a couple of episodes of this. Don't recall how many. I liked what I saw, but never finished it. Quirky, unique, funny stuff. Really should get around to finishing it one of these days.

    Finally finished this series.

It's kind of odd that the climax chronologically happens halfway through. :v

Which is why you should watch it in airing order as opposed to viewing it in chronological order. Yes, it's weird. But it also makes the series work out better. Who wants to watch seven episodes of action, then seven episodes of filler (Or filler-ish stuff). The idea is that all through, you are wondering what closed space is and how Haruhi happens to be God.

Yeah, my friend who introduced me to the series specifically told me several times to watch it in broadcasting order, and I don't regret doing so.

also, the day of sagittarius episode was :awesome:

Fog of war: off. It's even better if the other side has it on.

So yeah, apparently I actually found a case at my library with all of the episodes from the 2006 series of this show. I've been wanting to watch it for a while now, so this is pretty nice. But does anyone know which of the two seasons are better? The 2006 versions or the 2009 version? Because after I watch the one I checked out I want to know if the other version is worth it

This is easily one of my favourite anime of all time. The dub is excellent, but the second season was a bit of a letdown. But the film was good. Can't wait for a season three, if there will be one.

I think Kyon and Yuki Nagato are my favourites. Yuki, well,
    she's a alien
and Kyon, because he's voiced by Crispin Freeman and he is very funny.

To be honest... both seasons are good, other than the repetitive-ness of 'the endless 8' in season two. Both are good and necessary, I love the anime but I personally much prefer the manga and novels.
Anyway, I hope that answers your question.
After a while in season 2, you may wish to skip some of the 'endless 8' episodes. I personally watched them all, but yeah. That is up to you.

Figured I'd bump the thread since I'm currently watching it. I'm on episode 13 of the first season, and let me just say that this anime is one of the most absurd, charming, and funniest I've ever seen to date. The concept is utterly ridiculous, yet it becomes more charming as things are slowly revealed.

As I've said to you elsewhere:

"I'm more of a fan of the Japanese Dub than the English Dub.
Also, I loved the first season and... Second season was meh cause of the abuse of Endless 8.
Overall though, I prefer the manga and the novels. And the movie of Disappearance was really well done too though."

Personally, the First Season is the better of the two, and the Second has it's good moments, but Endless 8 was frustrating although I can appreciate what they tried to accomplish and why they did it.
The Movie was fantastic. Faithful to the novel and the Manga for a huge majority (I even wrote a uni essay on the comparisons. XD)

But again, I still just happen to prefer the Manga and the Novels overall. There is just some sort of beauty and order to it and the quality and bonus things that the manga has compared to the series.
    It's a tough call.
I do like the series, albeit some stuff in it more than others. And if we count the movie in with the series which... yes it does fit in, that does raise the bar of it highly.
Overall, the Haruhi package is a lovely one regardless of the medium used to view it.

I'm a huge Haruhi fan as a lot of you will know and I will continue to follow my Goddess with a passion in my heart! *Proud manly tears of manliness!*
