What do you think the meaning of life is?

But I'm trying to talk about the meaning of life.

Anyway, I'm compelled to say 42, but I think that it's completely arrogant for humans to believe that there's any sort of meaning or value in life, so I believe there is none. The concept of meaning is something we apply to life to justify the means by which we come to our ends.

 

Hmmm... to me, the meaning of life is to allow the next generation to take over, to savour the (sometimes)sweet taste of life, and to just be us.

Well, that's just what I was gonna say about the meaning of life...

I don't think there's a definite meaning to life. I think life exists just because it can, and that it's up to us to give it meaning. Also, if there was a particular meaning, that would feel like a pressure, and as if our whole lives have an already-detemined point, which I wouldn't like... It's better to be free, with full freedom for our imaginations, beliefs and values.

lol was that a reference to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? I like how movies like that play around with the topic, it really doesn't seem so serious anymore.

Anyway, I think everyone could have a completely different meaning for their own life, and really no meaning at all.

This is a serious, well-explored, highly debatable topic that could involve really detailed discussion. It can also be fun, but it's still discussable enough to be here, I reckon..

There is no defined meaning of life. How could there be? Someone thinking that there could be on by all and end all meaning of life for every human being on the planet would be a tad deluded.

I personally believe you are the one who creates meaning in your life. It is what you make it, working with what you have.

hmm, well, I think myself that there is no meaning to life, we just happened to be lucky enough to have coincedences occur that meant we were able to exist in this universe. The existence of life is just a coincedence. There is no "big role" to play, or something we should try and achieve.

But if there was a big meaning, a meaning of life, I'd guess that it'd be something we as humans do not have the ability to comprehend.

 

I never got why people are so self centered.....
Anyways, there is no true "meaning". I guess you could say the goal is to reproduce as much as possible to continue the species.

If someone does ever find the meaning of life they should put in a box, light it on fire, chuck its remains in the ocean and never speak of it. We don't need guidelines as to where our lives should be headed or for what we should try to achieve.

In my opinion, life is a gift. We have to use it the best way we can. Just don't waste it; life is way to precious to throw away.
