The Matrix

"I will." he said. "I will be just as useful as my brother."

 

"That's a lot to live up to." Switch said, honestly. "But a good goal." she looked around, keeping her eyes open for any more deja vu or another kind of glitch.

 

"So, when will it happen?" he asked.

 

"I'm not exactly sure. We're going to take Eva out as fast as we can and we'll take you as well. But it's not easy." Switch gave him a serious look. "Just be prepared for that."

 

"Alright." he said. "But what are you taking us out of?"

 

Switch thought in silence for a moment about how to put it. "We're taking you out of an illusion and into reality. This," she gestured vaguely to everything around them. "Is not real, it's what we call the Matrix. We're taking you out of it and into what is real."

 

"I see." he said. "And what is reality like?"

 

"Reality is hard. We're in a war with machines who have artificial intellegence. They control the world at this moment and they're the reason the matrix exists. We're the rebellion." Switch explained.

 

"Well then, I'll be happy to fight alongside you." he said.

 

"Good. I think you'll be fine once we get you out of here." Switch said, approvingly. "You're brother would be happy to know you're being freed and joining us."

 

"Yeah." he said. "Now I know what happened to my brother when he dissappeared."

 

OOC: Another week,less posting,after next tuesday I can do more,thank god for thanksgiving.


Dozer arrived in the circular room,seeing Switch already entered.He knew Morpheus would need him in jacking in."I'll keep an eye out..just get out as soon as you can.."he asked as Morpheus layed back in the chair.Dozer reached for the Plug and gave Morpheus a respectful nod.

Morpheus nodded back."We'll be careful."he assured Dozer before he was jacked into the Matrix.

He appeared in a worn-down shack near the building Neo and the others were in.A small phone was on a wooden box in front of him.It suddenly rang,and he picked it up."I'm in.." he told Dozer quickly before placing it back on the hook.

Mental note,there was more than one phone in the area.

Morpheus exited the shack and headed inside the worn-down warehouse.He checked to make sure everything was as it should be,and he even moved his black-tinted glasses up and down a bit.

Neo watched the exchange of words between Switch and Sepa,and remained quiet until Morpheus came inside,unsubtle.But there was no sneaking required anyway."..What took so long?"he asked Morpheus silently as he approached him.

"Scan of the systems,though only visually.."Morpheus whispered back,looking over at Eva."..That's her?"he asked.

Neo nodded and looked at her as well.

"And who are you?" Sepa asked Morpheus.

 

"..Who am I?"Morpheus repeated,still looking at Eva.He slowly turned to Sepa."I'm the one that can free you,if your willing to take the step into the real world..away from this projection of a false reality.."

 

"I am ready." he said.

 

"..That is what they all say,sure or not.."Morpheus said,expecting that answer.He felt that this boy would be no different from Mouse.Having already gotten an answer he knew from the beginning,Morpheus faced Eva again.

 

Eva huddled closer to her uncle. She took in that three of the five, including herself, in the room were wearing almost the same thing. She glanced down at her school uniform and hurridly tried to adjust the length of her too-short skirt.

 

Morpheus watched as Eva moved closer to her uncle.No doubt she was confused,but Neo couldn't always be there for her."..As you both know,I am Morpheus."he began,placing his hands behind his back and moving forward."..Do you know what the Matrix is?"he asked.

Unfortunately this could not be as formal as last time,time was short,and he'd need to get them all out soon.

 

"It's everything around us, right? This false reality?" he asked.

 

Neo could already tell that Morpheus believed something,that Eva wouldn't be a great asset,but more of a civilian in future fights.He didn't look at Eva,that would only make him seem like a baby-sitter.

He'd have to help Eva prove she was something more.

"Correct.."Morpheus admitted,but rather hoped for some ignorance,but he expected it anyway,he stated it in his introduction to Eva,so it was no big deal.He enjoyed explaining things and seeing the various expressions the nonbelievers gave him.He was sure Eva heard it,so he continued."..This false reality has blinded everyone from the truth,and if your willing to take a large step,much like Alice,I can help you..But you may not like the real world,instead,you can choose to stay in here.." he stopped,knowing that if Eva stayed she'd likely be held captive.
