The Lost Ones

" Ah! Don't do that! Do you want to give me a heart attack?" Lament said looking up at him.

 

Blade jumped off the tree and landed safely "sorry about that" Blade said

 

" It's alright. I'm sorry for yelling. I'm just stressed...and confused." She said.

 

"about what" Blade said

 

" I wish i could tell you. But I made a promise not to tell anyone. Sorry." She said.

 

"I understand" Blade said looking at the flowing water. Something was on his mind

 

Thorn slowly walked to the edge as he jumped, and started landing, then jumping off of tree branches, slowly jumping down from branch to branch, towards the bottem

 

" Thanks.......are you ok?" Lament asked.

 

" yea its just ive been thinking about my past." Blade said and looked up at the sky "I used to be a Assasin for hire and the best one ever. Ive been kill for so many years and felt nothing. No happyness, no sadness, no anger, no nothing" Blade said

 

" Wow. Makes my problem seem like a spec of dust compaired to yours." She said.

 

"when i got this mission from the king i treated it like it was a normal mission, but hanging out with you guys changed my life. I know how valuable a life is this time. I will never forgive myself" Blade said

 

" I'm sorry." Lament said looking at the fountain.

 

"don't be" Blade said

 

" It's complicated, and simple at the same time isn't? A life I mean. It can slip away so fast. Like when you swat a fly you don't really realize that it had a life and it was taken away in the blink of an eye. But when you really think about it then you start to feel bad for the fly. Why is one life, like humans, more significant than another, like the fly's? You need something to come along and almost smack you right in the face before you really understand." Lament said.

 

"your right" Blade said

 

Lament started chuckling then laughing.

 

"whats so funny" Blade asked

 

" You must think I've lost my mind. Talking about all this life stuff." She said between boughts of laughter.

 

Blade looked at her "i want to thank you" Blade said

 

She slowly stopped laughing. " What for?"
