The Light V.S The Darkness 2

Hiding in an alley, she ignored the inner feelings, as she had taught herself to do, and pulld out her hand, wincing. It was in bad shape. Her fingers were bleeding, and her wrist looked broken. She held it against her chest, rocking back and forth, trying to think of what to do. She would need to get out of this alley, there were bad guys hanging around them. Feeling around for her sword, she realized she had left it behind.

 

Gex sat down on the roof of the building and meditated. Mixt always did that when there was something on his mind, maybe it would work for him.

 

Cursing in every language she knew, Kira slowly got up, only to freeze. She smelled something she had not wanted to. Something that made fear run through her. And then the voice came, and something pinned her to the wall. He was back.

 

Gex tried to meditate, to look for his calm center. The only problem was he didn't have one of those, only one of chaos.

This was terrible, just the worst.

 

She struggled, trying to scream, but his hand was over her mouth. "I knew I'd find you." his voice hissed in her ear, making her shiver. "That man has killed more people then you, so I waited till he would try to kill you. Inevitably, he would. Sad, isn't it?"

 

In a huff, Gex gave up. This wasn't working, he had to see her again.

jumping from the building, Gex tried to find the girl he pushed away.

 

Kira screamed again, even if it was muffled. She didn't want him to find her, she wanted to run back to.....Him? He hates you. He tried to kill you. she shook her head, letting the tears fall slowly. Feeling cold lips against the back of her neck, she tried to scream, only to have her air cut off.

 

Gex ran into the alleyway. He was shocked to see Kira against the wall being held their by some brute.

"Hey! get your worthless hands off of her!"

 

She would have turned her head if she could have, but her vision was darkening. A small smile played on her lips though. He came back..he doesn't hate me.... she slowly faded into black, just in time to feel the air come rushing back into her lungs, then white hot pain as he stabbed her through the shoulder, holding her to the wall.

 

"You monster!"
Abandoning his last traces of sanity, Gex pounced on the man and bashed his skull against the pavement until it was nothing more than blood, guts, and powdered bone.

 

Kira had a vague idea of what was happening, but her mind focused on the pain she felt. That hurts surprisingly bad...... she wondered, trying to tug the sword out and grimacing. The blackness she had been falling into before slowly claimed her, making her dead to the world, for now.

 

Dripping in his foe's remains, Gex rushed over to Kira. Scared, he pulled the blade out of her shoulder and held her close.

"Wake up! Wake up...please!"

The lunatic was on the verge of breaking down.

 

"You don't have to worry." her voice was sleepy and quiet. "It just hurts...I'm glad you came back." Normally she would have been upset, and yelling, but she just couldn't get that emotional right now. She was too tired. Something warned her not to fall asleep, and she forced her eyes open. God it took so much energy.

 

Holding her in his arms, Gex began to wimper at what his actions had brought. He was trying to protect her was all. This wasn't supposed to happen.

"I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry! This wasn't supposed to happen. You were supposed to be protected by the light, shielded from my darkness."

 

She smiled sleepily, touching his chest to make sure he was real. "There has to be an equal balance." she murmured, her eyes slowly closing. "There is no light without the darkness." Her eyes flew open, fear ran through her. "Where is he?" She struggled to sit up.

 

"He's...he's gone Kira. He is no longer here."
Gex held her closer with his eyes closed. He didn't want her to know, just to believe him and go back to the light where she belonged.

 

She nodded, her eyes closing again. "I'm sorry I'm so tired..." she murmured, struggling to hold on. She had a feeling it might be bad if she went to sleep. "He didn't hurt you, did he?" she asked, wondering why she was being so gentle. She just felt she had to, incase she.....left.

 

"He didn't hurt me Kira, didn't lay a finger on me."
His vision began to get teary. His eyes began to get warm. Soon the warmth overflowed and spilled from them.
He was...crying? Never in his life did he cry, ever.

 

Kira looked up, her vision slightly blurry. "What's wrong?" she asked, reaching up with fingers that shook to wipe his cheeks. "You never cry....not even when you break your limbs, you never cry."

 

Fighting back his tears, Gex made an attempt at a smile towards the wounded girl.

"I know. I guess, I guess I broke something more painful then broken bones."
