The Light V.S The Darkness 2

Kira tilted her head. "What's wrong? Take the hand." She wondered right after she said that if she had phrased it wrongly for him.

 

"no, no it is nothing."
Gex grabbed her hand, ready to head up.

 

Kira smiled, then pulled him up with some effort. She didn't weigh very much, and he weighed more then her. She eventually pulled him up, but didn't let go of his hand just quite yet.

 

He could feel how soft her hands were. They were so warm and full of life, full of ambition. Guess the saying was true. even in the deepest darkness...there was light. He never knew it would be a whole person.

 

Kira smiled, looking at him. "All in one piece?" she asked. He had an odd look on his face...

 

Gex smiled up at her.

"yes, yes I'm alright."

 

She smiled, then looked along the rooftops, not forgetting that Gex still held her hand, but smiling. She liked the feel of it.

 

She was wonderful... perhaps too wonderful. If she stayed with him she'd be destroyed as fragile things often are. The only way to protect her was.

Gex closed his eyes.

The only way was to push her away.

 

Humming, she gently took her hand out of Gex's, then ran to the edge of the rooftop, climbing slowly up to the highest one. "Do you think I coudl survive a jump from here?" she teased, giggling.

 

Gex held his bone stake like a spear, his eyes heavy and dull.

"yes, but I don't know if you can survive a fall."

 

She looked back at him, her eyes curious. "A fall? Why would I fall?" she was confused, but some instinct was warning her of possible danger.

 

"From this."

Without a second thought, the madman threw his stake at the girl.

 

Kira dogded, feeling it breeze by her cheek, but lost her balance. She would have fallen with the spear if she hadn't grabbed the edge. Clutching it, she struggled to pull herself up to her chest. "What are you doing!?"

 

Gex closed his eyes, he didn't want to look at her while he did this.

"I'm doing what I've always done kira. Kill things."

 

She felt cold fear, and another feeling go through her. This other one was weird, like something in her was shattering. What was he saying? "We're friends, you wouldn''t hurt me." she managed to pull herself up to her chest, then worked on getting the rest of her body back up the ledge.

 

He summoned a nother stake, a miniscule tear played at his left eye.

"I'm sorry, it is how I am."

 

She shook her head. "I refuse to believe that." Her eyes held no fear, only hurt and desperation. "Why? Did I make you angry?" If she could just get her leg a little closer...

 

"No, no you didn't kira."

Gex held his stake aloof, ready to strike.

"You just, you just need more protection"

 

Confused by his words, she pushed herself off the roof, and free fell through the air, curling into a tight ball to go faster. One....two......three........ her bad arm snapped out, grabbing a lower roof. She climbed onto it, fighting tears of pain as her arm stung and burned. She didn't look back, but ran into the shadows, trying to hide. She had to hide.

 

Gex watched her travel off into the distance from his vantage point

Good, she was finally gone, finally safe.
