"Before I met you, I never really knew love."

 

"After my father died, I thought I grew immune to the feeling. Until you came into my life. Now, at times, I can't stop thinking about you!"

 

"I feel the same way." Michael blushed again. "I have wanted to say this to you for a long time." He started to stutter. "I-I-I Love you!"

 

Kai gasped slightly. She began to blush as well. "Well, I love you, too, Michael."

 

Michael embraced Kai and kissed her.

"Man, It's about time you admitted you love her."

"Just leave me alone right now, dragon."

 

Kai kissed him and embraced him as well. 'This feeling, so new to me.... I feel like my heart is going to bust open.'

 

"I hope you don't mind being stuck with me for a while, because I'm not letting you go."

 

"I don't mind at all." She laid her head on his shoulder.

 

It seemed like everyone in the village was looking on, but Michael didn't care. All that mattered was that he was here, holding his true love.

 

Kai felt like she was in heaven. She had finally found someone to love and who loves her back. 'Thank you, Michael, for everything....' she whispered as she hugged him.

 

Michael ran his hand through Kai's hair.

"You being here with me is the only thanks I need."

 

Kai kissed Michael again. Tears ran down her face as she did it.

 

Michael wrapped his wings around Kai as he kissed her.

"Words can't express how happy I am now......"

 

"But this is so much like the play." Kai gripped Michael's shoulders. "I want to stay with you forever!"

 

"I never thought I would ever hear someone say that to me." Tears fell from Michael's face.

 

Kai wiped Michael's tears as she stared into his eyes. 'I just want be with you....'

 

"Only death could tear me away from you now....."

Kai smiled at Michael. He's maybe a halfling, but she loved him no matter what.

One of the kids tugged at Michael's robe.

"Big brother, you said you were going to teach me how to use a sword."

Michael looked at the kid. "I'll be right there."

He turned back to Kai. "Want to come watch?"

 

"Sure." Kai smiled, breathing happily through the cold air.
