The Legend of Dragoon

The sun rose, awakening Michael.

He got up to get breakfast.

 

"Morning, Michael!" Kai ran downstairs for breakfast.

 

"Morning. Feeling better?"

 

"Yeah. And someone left some flowers in front of my door last night. I wonder who?"

 

"Good question." He said, smiling.

 

"Oh, yeah." Kai went into one of her pockets and pulled a feather. "I found this on top of the bundle."

 

"Even if I hadn't left that feather, you probably would have known it was me."

 

"Yeah, probably." Kai pulled some sting out and made a necklace with the feather and tied it around her neck.

 

"Looks pretty good." Michael finished his breakfast.

"Well, I'm going to relax at the hot springs for a while. You should give them a try, it takes the aches and pains away."

He walked outside.

 

"Okay." Kai sat in a armchair near the fire. The fire reminded her when she got her first kiss. She blushed at the memory.

 

Michael got into the spring. The minerals in the water made him feel good.

He started to whistle a little tune as he sat in the water.

 

Kai felt the materials of the feather. It felt so soft, Kai couldn't keep stop thinking about Michael.

 

Michael dried off and got back into his armor.

As he stepped outside, he was tackled by some kids.

"Big brother! It's about time you got back. We were worried about you."

 

Kai put some warm clothes on, and walked out. She saw Michael surrounded by some kids. "Michael!"

 

Michael laughed. "It's ok Kai, I'm fine." He stood up. "These kids look up to me as if I was there big brother. Kids, I'd like you to meet Kai."

They bowed. One of the little kids walked up to Kai.

"Miss Kai, are you in love with our big brother?"

Michael blushed when he heard the question.

 

Kai also blushed. "What an interesting question... Well, I like him, just because he's there for me."

 

"Go play now, kids. I have to talk to Kai.....privately." Michael said.

One of the kids jumped up.

"You're going to kiss her, aren't you?"

Michael hit the kid over the head.

"What did I say about butting in to my business?"

"Sorry, big brother."

"That's ok."

"Would you teach me how to use a sword later?" the kid asked.

"Maybe, only if you be good and go play."

The kid smiled and ran to join the others.

 

"What a lively group of little siblings you have, Michael." Kai smiled.

 

"They aren't really related to me. They were orphaned when their parents died of a strange illness. I took care of them while they were sick, and now my grandparents raise them."

 

"That's nice of you and your family. Um.... Michael....." Kai looked at her feet. "Have you ever loved someone?"
