The Legend of Dragoon

"It will have to do for now, until we can find more rothium. We will just have to work with what we have."

Michael looked in the barrel where Mathias kept the Rothium.

"The old man lied, there's enough left over to temper into a sword as well. Ok Cliff, you get started on the shield, and I will work the rest of the metal in with my sword."

 

"Alright." he said, taking what he needed.

 

The two began working. Michael heated up the sword and melted down the rothium. He hammered the sword out to restore the blade to its original look, then coated it with the melted rothium. Before hardening the sword, he made runic symbols on it, from the language of his people. They read "Zephyr, wind of vengence and justice"

"There, I'm finished." He said as he finished shaprening the blade and sheathed it. "Take as much time on the shield as you need, Cliff. I am going to go watch over Kai. I want to be there when she awakens."

 

"Alright, you do that." he said, making a die cast of the shield he was going to make.

 

Michael sat down next to Kai. She looked like she was sleeping so peacefully. He smiled and fell asleep.

That night, he had a dream.

Michael heard a voice speaking to him.

"Dragoon, death and destruction surrounds you..."

He saw bodies, many torn asunder savegely.

"There is no escape from the pain...."

The visions continued, radually becoming more horrifiying.

"Everything and everyone you hold dear will be lost because you bear the dragoon soul."

Michael saw Kai, being attacked by an shadowy figure before his eyes, unable to move, to even speak.

He woke up, startled by the nightmare he just had.

"No, I won't let this happen. I refuse to give into this nightmare. Never again will I lose anyone. Never! he thought to himself.

 

Cliff melted the Rothium and poured it into the cast. He put it in cool water and it hissed. He pulled it out and broke off the cast. The shield looked perfect! All he needed to do now was shine it up.

 

Sophia came running in. "News, it is said that the black monster has been spotted a league away from here." she said to Cliff.

 

"Alright!" he said. "Here!" He gave her the shield.

 

Huh? I thought I heard something.....

There it is! The Black Monster!

What? Whoa! *barely missed an arrow*

*looks up at a handful of archers and swordsmen* They're.....so....afraid.......what did they call me?.......The...Black Monster?.......was it because of what happened at the village?......

Fire at will! It'll destroy the whole town just like that village if we don't kill it now!

Soo.....that's what they think of me......a merciless killer......

She hears another voice in her head....not of her own.....

Kill them......kill them all....they deserve to die......

I guess so....then that they will! *turns dark and draws swords from air that weren't there before*

 

"thanks but can i add a finishing touch?" Sophia asked cliff pulling out one of her blue swords.

 

Kai was resting on her bed. She was dreaming about Michael and the others. Finally, Kai woke up and looked around. "Where am I?" she wondered. "How did I get here?"

 

Sophia ran outside and nearly bumping into Kai "kai, your awake how do you feel?" she asks.

 

"I'm fine, Sophia," Kai said, rubbing her neck. "How did I get there? Last I remember we were waiting for the boys."

 

"Of course!" he said, smiling. He followed her out.

 

"Cliff, where are we?" Kai said. "Last I remember Sophia and I were waiting for you and Michael. How did I get here?"

 

"Michael got scared when he saw you had been stabbed." he said. "He picked you up and brought you to the hospital."

 

"Okay," Kai said. "So, where are we? Tredor?"

 

"yeah, well i think so." sophia answered, she put the tip of her blue sword onto the shield and said something a ancient language. the sheild turned the same colour as her swords.

 

"Well, I'm going to look around," Kai said. "See ya later."

 

"okay," she said; she turned to cliff and asked "where was a big man like you, when a wingly attacked a young girl like me, humm?" she asked
