The Legend of Dragoon

"How far is it where we're going?" Kai asked.

 

"The smith still owes me a favor from when I helped him keep from losing his shop when he was low on money, My father and I footed the bill because he was a family friend, so I'm sure he won't mind giving us some Rothium."

Michael turned to Kai

"Tredor is about two days from here, as long as there are no interuptions."

Just then, 2 goblins leaped from the bushes.

Michael was in no mood to fight a long, drawn out battle with these weaklings, so he drew his blade and dispached them quickly and effortlessly.

"Vae Victas." He said as he sheathed his sword.

 

"Well then we just need to get it. I've got all the tools we need."

 

"And we have enough food. We can restack at Tredor."

 

"still do we have enough money for food?" sophia asked; it was the first time she had spoken out to the group since they left.

 

"We have our prize winnings from the tournament. If we run out of food before we get to Tredor, I can always hunt for something to eat."

 

"Sophia, try his cooking. It's good."

 

"humm." then she became wraped up in her thoughts again.

 

Michael started cooking, making dishes that pandered to everyone's tastes. He did not make anthing for himself however, considering the events that had transpired. He did not have much of an appetite, so he just stuck with drink to satisfy him.

 

Kai ate her dinner, seeing Micheal wasn't eating and was too quiet. "Micheal, what's wrong?"

 

Sophia ate her dinner slowly; still thinking about the moon-child and etc. "this place we are going can i see a map of it?" she asked.

 

Cliff looked at her and asked "What's on your mind?"

 

"Just tired, thats all." He said in a depressed tone.

"To be honest, though, witnessing the destruction of the only home you have ever known is kind of hard to stomach."

 

Kai smiled at Micheal. "I kinda know what you mean. Back at the church, I never feel that way around anyone before. But now I don't know what to feel."

 

"I know, my heart is a bunch of mixed emotions right now. I'm sure it will pass, in time."

He pulled out his mother's ring and started to roll it around in the palm of his hand, lost in thought.

 

"on my mind well there is the moon-child, the divine dragon and that wingly, thats what on my mind." she stared into nothingness

 

Kai stared into the flames of the fire. 'Why, when I'm around Micheal, I have this strange feeling?' she thought.

 

He put his arm around her and said "We should be able to find out about them at that library."

 

Sophia leaned cliff's shoulder, "i hope so." she said

 

"Why did the dragoon spirit choose me? Ever since I became the Jade dragoon, Death and destruction has surrounded me? Why? Is this my fate?"

So many questions came to Michael's mind, but the answers did not. He looked into the fire, wondering what would happen next.
