He sat up and asked "What's going on? Guys?"

 

"If you're going to be king, I'll be your queen," she whispered into his ear.

 

"I don't think I'll be king for too long." He whispered back.

 

"What about your promise to my father?" she asked.

 

"It's just until all of the keldon are unified...besides, I have plans to completely change the way the keldon government works." Michael smiled. "How did you know about that promise, though?"

 

"Zephyr told me you made a promise to my father during the war," she said, looking at her feet.

 

"She did?" Michael glared at Zephry. She just grinned meekly at him.

Michael looked at Cliff. "Feeling better?"

 

"Yeah, but I really miss Sophia." he said.

 

Kai smiled. "I was surprised, but I just hated anything royal. Don't know why."

 

"Sophia will be back soon. At least she wasn't kidnapped this time."

Michael's mother started to sit up.

"Mother, are you ok?"

 

Kai bowed at her. "Hello, my name is Kai....."

 

"It's nice to meet you, Kai. I am Sarisa."

Sarisa looked at Michael.

"My, how you have grown, Michael. But seeing that you were a baby the last time I saw you, that's an understatement..."

 

"Um, I'm also a Keldon and is engaged to your son." Kai showed Sarisa the ring Michael gave her. "This was yours......"

 

"So Michael found my ring after all...It looks better on you though, Kai. It makes me happy that Michael found someone to love."

Sarisa caught a glimpse of Zephyr.

"That girl isn't your child is she?"

Michael fell to the floor.

"Of course not, mother!"

"You don't have to shout, son. I'm not deaf, you know..."

Zephyr laughed.

 

Kai smiled. "Michael and I shared the same thing, we never knew love until we met each other." She sighed.

 

"It looks like you two were made for each other.." Sarisa turned to Michael. "Whatever happened to your father, Michael?"

Michael looked down.

"I'd rather not discuss that...."

"I see...."

 

"Well, we did met before. In my village." Kai started to sing the song she sang to him when they met.

 

"What a lovely singing voice."

Michael went to pull out his flute, but stopped when a guard entered the clinic.

"Sire, I have a message from the Villgust reconstruction team."

"Can't it wait?"

"I'm sorry, sir, but it can't. It's very urgent."

Michael took the message from the guard.

"Leave us."

"Yes, my lord."

The guard left.

 

"What's it say?" he asked.

 

"What is it, Michael?" Kai was worried, the voice of her voice showed it.
