The Legend of Dragoon

The ring hit Cliff in the back of the head. He picked it up and put it on.

 

"Keep it. I've always thought it looked good on you. Let's go, I don't want to look at this junk heap anymore."

He put his arm around Kai.

 

Kai laid her head on his shoulder.

 

"Cliff!" Michael shouted. "We're leaving now!"

 

Kai stood up and dusted herself off.

 

"This trip was a waste of time."

"Tell me about it."

"You're the one who wanted us to come here in the first place, you knucklehead!"

Michael hit Zephyr in the head.

 

"Oh, Michael...." Kai walked over to Zephyr and hugged her.

 

He came back. "Hey guys, look at this neat ring I found!" he said, showing off the ring.

 

Kai looked at the ring. "Oh boy........."

 

"I'm only going to ask you once...get rid of that damn ring now."

 

"Please, Cliff. Just get rid of it."

 

"Why? What's wrong with it?" he asked, confused.

 

"That was my father's signet ring, but now it's only a burden to me. That's why I threw it away, and I would appreciate it if you did the same."

 

"Yes. So please, get rid of it."

 

"Or we're going to leave you behind."

"Oh, enough of this!"

Zephyr snached the ring from Cliff and threw it away.

"There, happy?"

 

"Thank you, Zephyr." Kai smiled at her.

 

"It was such a pretty ring too. Sophia might have loved it." he said with a sigh.

 

"She wasn't here...I guess we should try the next town. It's on the coastline, so she might be there."

 

Kai nodded, and started to walk.

 

"I hope she's there." he said.
