The Legend of Dragoon

After some distance, Michael stopped.

"We make camp here." He handed Kai some wood and flint.

"Here Kai, you build the fire, while I go hunt down something for us to eat."

 

"Okay." Kai started to climb to a campfire and lit the wood, creating a flame. She sat on the ground, staring at the flames of the fire.

 

Michael ventured away from the camp site. He came across a deer after some time.

Cautiously, he approached the deer, and in one swift stroke of his mace, he knocked out the deer.

Michael brought the deer back to the camp, skinning the deer with a small hunter's knife along the way.

He started to cook the deer over the fire that Kai built, and they ate the deer meat.

 

"Micheal, this is good," Kai said. "Not only are you a good player, but a good cook. That song I played back at the inn, my father used to play it all the time."

 

"Thanks, Kai. I have been doing this sort of thing since I was 10. Spent most of my live on the road, with my father, till he died a few days ago. Didn't even get a chance to give him a proper burial, as I got attacked by a monster trying to get at my dad's corpse. I do better cooking in a kitchen though. The times when my father and I would stop in a town, I would take jobs at the local inns, most of the time, being a cook."

 

"Sorry about your father. After my father died, he was buried in my home village. I was always a good singer. My father and I were a team when it came to music. I would sing and he would play. I miss him, too much..."

 

"That's ok. At least my father died doing what he loved, adventuring. But life must go on I suppose..."

Suddenly, there was a noise, coming from the bushes.

"I have the strange feeling something, or someone, is watching us." Michael whispered as he drew his weapon.

Then something jumped from the bushes, and Michael began to laugh.

What he thought was a monster, was in fact, a rabbit.

"Well, I suggest we get some sleep. We will each take turns taking watch, so that we don't get killed in our sleep. I will take the first watch."

 

Sophia walked around the forest looking for Michael and kai, she stopped a moment and glanced arounded her; not far from her she saw flames. silently she walked there just before she was in site if the watcher she climbed the tree and jumped from tree to tree. until she came to the last tree which was next to the camp fire, she sat there staring into the flames. a tear ran down her face "i'll never forget you, sis." she whispered to herself.

 

"Sohpia, nice to see you again," Kai said. "Micheal, I'll take next watch."

 

"oh, hi i didn't see you there," Sophia climbed down the tree, "have you seen cliff? i have been looking for him every where but i can't find him." she sighed and looked out to the sky.

 

"No, I haven't seen Cliff since we left the village," Kai said. "I just feel singing another song. Something I know from my past."

 

"oh, what is the song called? i can't sing but i can play the piccolo." she took out a piccolo from her bag that she was carrying and played a short melody it sounded like a song bird's song. Sophia put the piccolo down and looked at the sky.

 

"Something my father called Only Hope," Kai said, smiling. "I miss him, too much..." Another song entered her mind and she started to sing again.

"This time, this place," she sang. "Misused, misplaced. Too long, too late. Who was I to make you wait? Just one chance. Just one breath. Just in case there's just one left. Cause you know, cause you know..."

"I don't know why I'm so good at singing," she said, looking at the sky.

 

sophia thought for a bit then picked up her piccolo and repeated the song which Kai just sung, "it goes like that doesn't it?" she put the down the piccolo and walked over to the trees and climbed it; once she was at the top she looked around try to spot Cliff.

 

"Yeah," Kai replied. "It's time for me to take the next watch." She got up and walked to the spot Micheal once stood.

 

"i think i'll go on a walk to a close river maybe." she said a walked out into the forest after a bit she came across a small river which lead to a lake, Sophia stepped onto in and walked to the middle of the walk where she sat down; Sophia pulled out her piccolo and started to play a slow sad tune.

 

"Okay," Kai said. Sighing, she continued the song.

"That I love you. I have loved you all along, and I miss you, been far away for far too long. I keep dreaming you'll be with me and you'll never go. Stop breathing if I don't see you anymore."

 

"There is an ill wind on the horizon." Michael thought to himself, staring toward the mountain range in the distance.

Michael stood up and pulled out his map.

 

Aldon:
*sees a group of people and secretly follows them*

*whisper*
So they are the ones who the dragoons have chose!
They must have the Divine Dragoon Spirit too!

*uses his powers to secretly follow them*

 

Sophia silcently puts down her piccolo and walks back to the camp "no sign of Cliff." she sighed, is Cliff coming at all she thought.
