    Avatar: The Last Airbender

Not the greatest movie ever :/
It was an ok movie and doesn't even COMPARE to the original anime
    (all in my opinion)

It wasn't anything like what I was expecting. Also my mom pointed out that about 50% of it was filmed on location... IN DISNEYLAND!!!!! The effects were alright but changing the pronunciation of the names was just unnecesary. Sokka and Katara were good and Yuei was almost exactly like the show IMO. Zuko could've looked more... like Zuko and Aang (a.k.a. Ahng) wasn't exactly the picture of a perfect performance.

    That was some goddamn bullshit.
one of the things we loved the most about ATLA was that Aang, despite the fact that it's a time of war, maintains his childlike innocence and love for all things. He's a fun, goofy kid who's also the Avatar.
The movie comes along, and that's gone. We have Noah Babyface who has the same face the entire movie. He never shows his fun personality. He smiles once in the entire movie, and it's really half-hearted.

Screw the race-casting, screw the clothes changes, screw the firebending rule changes, and screw the Sozin's comet arrives in X time change, even screw the name pronunciations (although everything I've just said is incredibly annoying.). THIS is what I am outraged about as an ATLA fan. Shyamalan took away what was arguably the best part of the show. He took away Aang and replaced him with the Avatar. I don't like this, at all. What do you think?

Mr. Shyamalan, when Twilight is the better movie to see than your movie, you have to rethink your career as a director.

I laughed so hard throughout that entire movie. Honestly though, what did you guys expect? It's Shayamalan. I have only seen one good, and one decent movie from him. The Sixth Sense and Lady in the Water.

I actually was expecting it to be worse.
I was afraid he was going to make Soh-kah, Katara's boyfriend.

It WAS bad, but it could have been much worse. Okay, well... Maybe just a LITTLE bit worse.

HAHA no one voted good. hahaha.
yeah it was pretty bad... they screwed up the last fight scene. i was ok with the different name pronounciations, the lame dancing for bending, and the dumb looking fire lord, but when they left out the ocean spirit.....

It bugged me how they didn't even show the Kahoshi Island sequence.

However I did appreciate how the finding of the avatar was similar to the finding of the Dalai Lama.

    Kiyoshi?

    M. Night said that was his favorite part of the series. He filmed a LOT of scenes for them, but it started taking the movie in a different direction so they had to scrap it.

    I haven't seen it myself.
A friend of mine and fellow Avatar fan said he actually liked it while another said it was somewhat decent.

Everyone else I know though hated it.

I don't think it's released here yet. We usually get stuff last. Still, everytime I hear the Last Airbender, I instantly think of the Dragonball movie which was a complete fail. Yeah, I'm probably just gonna watch the Sorcerer's Apprentice.

    Where's the epic fail choice?

Anyhoo, I spent half the movie hiding my face from the fail-ness and half the movie laughing myself into hysterics. Especially with the whole "EE-ROH'S MAKIN FYR OUT OF NUTTIN!!1!11! O:" part. That one made my life.

Iroh should've been more of a pimp, though. Cuz he IS the Avatar Pimp. And he should've been a fat, old, Asian man.

Actually, it was animated in Korea and storyboarded in America. (Learned that from the extra DVD in the collector's edition Book 1.)

I also heard that the Kyoshi Warriors were filmed but cut because of the lack of an ending for their plot. Whatever. All you have to do is what was done in the show and you wouldn't have had a problem, M Night.

I have to say that I'm just really, really upset over this movie. My brother and I were looking at each other in the theater with flat out "WTF?!" faces. Neither of us could get over how horrible it was. I had done a lot of background research before I went to see the movie -- including listening to a ton of interviews that M Night gave. He kept saying how he's a big fan of the show and stuff. So why did he ruin it? D:

The saving grace of the movie was Noah Ringer. He is an amazing martial artist. And he portrayed Aang's inner torment perfectly. But there was too much of it! Aang is a goofy kid! Where did all the humor go? I know the cast was just doing what they were told (I'm an actress, I know what that's like) but I wish their was more of the show. They all seemed like different people to me!

Here's a good little spoof for you TV fans! It's genius.

i finally had time to see this movie and i was pretty disappointed. putting the whole "race bending" thing aside, the movie itself wasn't great. if anything, it felt like one of those youtube parodies are a fan made movie. also, the whole movie felt like watching a trailer because none of the characters had enough lines to really make much of a coherent story.
