thanks i desided to try out a few new tricks with sony vegas this time

 

The lip syncing was interesting to be honest. It's different from the other videos that I've seen that use this song. I think that instead of just using that one clip of Sora in the beginning, you could've use some other characters like Roxas or Riku. So Sora could've started by saying "Look, listen to my voice, if you're making the choice." Then you could've changed it to Roxas saying the next verse and then Riku. The rest of the video could've been more actiony(don't know if that would be the right word) and synced to the beats of the song. It just seemed a little slow compared to the music.

Woah! Looks like somebody was abusing the Chroma Key. Chroma Key helps with taking away the background but the way you used it didn't work out so well because instead of taking away just the background, you also took away from the character of the scene. And I know the parts are suppose to be short but your video was just too short. It just cuts off at the end without any sort of resolution. Get what I'm talking about?

I'll take a look at the upload later. If the quality is bad, I'll have to ask you to rerender it or I won't put it in.

I'd really like it if you guys showed me a preview of the work before you send in the final render. Me and the rest of the participants could give you some critique on the video and possibly give suggestions if needed. We are working on this as a team so it wouldn't hurt to help each other out now, would it?

well, I'm trying to get my part done ASAP because I've got a little over a month left for vacation time, and once it gets shorter, I'll probably lose all initiative to get it done.

And @turntechGodhead, I know some of the parts were slow, but I just couldn't think of a better way to do it. Can you think of some better clips I could use?

 

Well there are many action scenes in KH. Like the fights between Sora and Riku in Re:CoM or the secret endings for example. To give it a sense of quickness though, you could've transitioned to other action scenes with a flash or cut on most of the beats. You don't always have to hit a beat with a flash though. I know she'll be incredibly embarassed by me posting this but this is a good example of a fast action video.

It'd obviously be harder to do some of the things she did in the video with WMM but it's an example to learn from, not copy.

You got the lyrical sync down but the transitions between your scenes could be improved on. Using hard cuts may look easy but the thing about hard cut is that they usually aren't suppose to be noticeable. There's also too little going on in the video. It's just one clip after another with nothing to make it pop and the video just fades out and ends without any real resolution. Get what I'm trying to get across?

okay i know that the chroma key took away from the characters but thats how i wanted the clips to go and i know that there was no resolution thats the point behind my part showing how kh hasnt meet its full resolution yet but now that i know the minimue time aloud is 30 i will be making my part longer

 

Instead of using all hard cuts, try using a few flashes or fades =]. It helps add variety, and you also might want to use them to your advantage to hit a few more beats. You can adjust a few clips which already fit the lyrics to match the beats too this way. As for a resolution, it just fades out a little too fast and a longer fade or another clip should help provide closure.

 

Você entendeu o que eu estava tentando te dizer na minha ultima messagem? Eu não posso te dizer que tem que fazer isso, isso e isso porque no final como você edita o video é a sua decisão. Mas eu posso dar algumas dicas. Quando eu falei que precisa fazer o video "pop", eu estava tentando falar que no momento o seu video é muito monótono. É só uma cena depois de uma cena. Não poderia ter mais transições entre as cenas. Ele poderia ser mais rapido, né? Especialmente com uma música que é rápido como essa aqui.

I'm still in, I've just had to reinstall vegas but I have lots of time so I'll start wotking on it now.

I haven't completely decided on my song but I assume it'll be something by Poets of the Fall.

EDIT: I have chosen Locking up the sun by Poets of the Fall and it should be around 45 seconds. I hope that isn't too long.
