Video The KH-Vids.net MEP 2012 : Second Phase!

Well, my video is done, and I'm trying to save it in the formats you guys want, but it's not going to happen, because for reasons I have no idea why, every time I save it with what you guys want, it saves without any sound for some reason.

 

Check your project to make sure that your rendering settings have sound enabled, because some editing programs have the option to render without sound. Make sure your audio track isn't muted in the timeline too.

 

We still haven't decided on a final date yet but don't expect it to be until August.

11 seconds over 1 minute? lolno B| 11 seconds over 45 seconds? That's okay.

Is there no way to set things up manually? Out of the ones you've listed, I believe NTSC would be the correct one but I'm unsure. The difference between all of these options is that while they all have the same framerate, they all have different resolutions.

At the moment, the video feels pretty monotonous. What I mean by this is that not enough is going on. More scenes could be used to give it variety. This feels like a SoraXKairi sort of video but some of the scenes used don't focus on either like the part with Leon and Aerith. God knows that there's a lot of SoKai material in the Kingdom Hearts games. Don't be afraid to use them. You should try to doing some beat sync. At the moment, the scenes just move between each other randomly when you could easily transition with a flash on a beat. There are other ways to transition between scenes though and you should experiment to find what works the best.

 

Thanks for that. Ok I know the song is pretty slow and a bit hard to do. I think i'll be better of changing the song that i have chosen. And yea after watching it seems to be the same scenes just put together piece by piece. I was wanting to do the flashes, but the way the edits were setup it wouldn't allow me to do so. I'll try a different new approach to it. This would be my first time changing my audio right, i'll still have one more chance to change the song if it still doesn't work out. nope, it only lets me choose the resolution and frame rate. I saved it normally so I can upload it and have you guys check it, but if possible, I'll see if I can get it to save with what you guys are expecting.

 

I've finished my part since i was pretty bored. I'll have it up in a sec.

 

What program are you using for your editing? And what format are you exporting in?

Would you like some criticism? There's still a lot of time before August, when the due date will most likely be, so you could revise what you already have with all that time.

No I don't think I can set it manually. Not sure, but I cna't see anywhere to do it. I chose the NTSC and I';m exporting now. Should I post it here for critique so you can tell me if I need to change anything?

Sorry about completely not showing up for a really long time.

I really haven't had the chance to download any version of Sony Vegas Pro (I'm looking at either getting 10 or 11, so if someone could help me with a legitimate source, that'd be great)

Anyway, the song I'm currently looking at is Sarah Smiles by Panic! At the Disco (my mp3 of the song is A LOT better quality than this, trust me).

At this time, my only real problem is getting Vegas.​

I will say though, I highly doubt my part will be finished the the first week of august as I go on holiday for 2 weeks at the end of July but I can try (but I'd rather not rush it) if need be.

Nice. Maybe you could try toning some of the effects down? It's kind of hard to tell what's happening in some of the scenes when the effects are distorting them. Besides that I think you could smooth out some transitions between scenes.

First things first, I would suggest using clips of the same quality and resolution. At first the quality of the cutscenes is high and then it drops to a lower quality only to go back to a higher quality clips and then back to a lower quality. It's not really necessary but it's jarring in my opinion. You only used KH2 clips and Mixt has already uploaded his high quality recordings of that game so I suggest using them. Plus they don't have subtitles so that's a plus in my opinion. As for the editing, I'm impressed. It's been a while since I last saw a video of yours but compared to what I saw then and what you have now, there was definitely an improvement. Thumbs up. One thing that I noticed is that there are some scenes edited in here that just feel like they're there to fill in some space. Besides that and maybe this is just me because I don't have any headphones on me but the sound quality sounds a little low in my opinion. Could somebody confirm this?

Remember that the final date hasn't been announced yet so you could have enough time to finish your part without feeling rushed.

 

I belive that the only scene you can't really tell whats going on is; where terra is hit electricity and the cookie cutter+tv simulator effect with vanitas and aqua , i'll smooth those out if i get any time , with terra i think the effect is good though to go with the riff. and if i get any time , i know a few of the cross fades on the last 10 seconds of the amv were a bit off ,so i'll sort those out when i get any time to.

 

the quality is what you get, because if I were to download all the kh2 scenes put on here, I would 1) lose a ton of space on my computer, and 2) be downloading scenes for a good portion of the day getting nothing done, and I don't have the time for that. Also, all of those scenes I chose based on the lyrics, and some probably do seem random, but I did choose based on what seemed like they would fit the lyrics as best as they could.

 

Here it is. Ignore it after the song ends. there's a little clip I forgot to delete which was located further along the time line so the video is 4 minutes long! Gotta fix that. Let me know what needs fixing/editing.
