the song clip is a second or so short, so it would go over by three seconds max, excluding blank slots. btw, Dialog would be unacompanied by video. would this confuse your editing? if so I won't bother.

 

I don't know if it would be confusing because I haven't worked with a situation like this before. Try it out. If I have any problems, I'll just ask you to edit it out, okay?

Yup, I am still participating, still thinking of a good song choice that would be around the time limit, i was going for Crawling by Linkin Park, still thinking about it not too sure. Let me know what you guys/gals think about this.

 

Well, I personally would recommend using a less horribly overused, mainstream song...but that's just me and my opinion, since you've said you're open to what we think. Maybe use like, a remix of one of their songs ("KRWLNG" off of their Reanimation album, for instance) or a mash-up ("Crushcrushfaint", remixed by UnforgettableSound).

 

How does "Better Than Me" sound By Hinder ??

Anybody any idea what is meant by a part. Please help this is new to me thanks a lot. The editing isn't new just this the MEP since this is the first time that i am participating in this project.

 

I have to agree with Hayabusa about Crawling. The song has just been used sooooo many times that it's lost any sort of novelty and feels so generic when it's listened to alongside an AMV nowadays. But in the end, the decision of what song you're going to use is up to you. As for "Better Than Me", if you can make it work with the footage you've got then I don't see a problem with using it. I wonder how you'll make a song about a break-up work with KH, FF or Disney though. Good luck. At the moment, I'll just add you to the list without a song since it appears that you haven't fully decided on it yet. Get back to me when you have and I'll add it in.

Your part is the video you'll be making for the MEP. There's really no simpler way of explaining it. xD

By the way, I'm going to be using Painted Sun in Abstract by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for the outro sequence. This might change though since I'm super indecisive like that.

For the crisis core part I'm thinking of showing scenes Of Zack's progression and how he ended from Aerith's point of view, since they were really close and this song fits this scene well. Let me know what you think and this may just be what I'm gonna end up doing.

Also how can i cut it down to the specified length that is around 45 seconds long, from 4 minutes. Thanks

 

I like the song. But as I said earlier, I shouldn't be the one telling you whether or not the idea is good. That's up to you. Plus I don't even know what how it's going to look until you've edited it and shown it to me. If you want to do it, do it! If you want some critique afterwards to help improve your part then I'd be happy to give you some and I'm sure others would as well.

What editing software are you using? If you're using any of the more advanced programs like Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere than you should be able to cut down the song in there. I'm unsure of how it's done in Windows Live Movie Maker but if you can't cut the song in there then you could always download Audacity and use it to edit your audio.

 

I'm gonna be using Apple Final Cut Pro X. So i cut the part down to where i want it and it should fit within the time limit that is 45 seconds, ok cool. Now, how can i get a hold of the video files that i require to start my edits. Thanks. :)

 

You didn't already have the video files with you? I was expecting everybody to be prepared. ._.

Well you can download Kingdom Hearts clips over here obviously. I'm sure there are also other places where you can download them. As for Crisis Core, I'm not sure where you could find clips. Does anybody here know and could please provide a link?

Sorry to bother. But I'm having trouble with Treasure Planet. It's in the correct format my Sony Vegas takes but each time I try to import it my Sony Vegas crashes and denies. Uhm. Help? :c ​

 

It might have something to do with your virtual memory or whatever it's called. Its a problem I used to have trying to import a really high quality long movie (Advent Children Complete in my case). You could try converting it to a smaller, slightly lower quality format.

 

Guys any idea as to what the resolution should be like. Its not mentioned in the thread. So one wouldn't know, and having different res clips would make the entire thing look wonky thanks.

Can I download the videos from YouTube?? Or can someone please link me to the crisis core final fantasy cutscenes. Thanks.

 

A'ight guys, while 45 seconds would be optimal for us, we realize that it may be too short for some of you to make your part as effectively as you'd like -- so we talked it over & decided that everybody can have 10-15 extra seconds if need be. Please do not go over 15 more seconds (which would make a part that is 1 minute total). Hope this helps for those of you who are having trouble cutting your part down to size =].

 

Ah, so 1 minute max, that's a lot easier to work with.

Now, as TitanTX said, what should the resolution of our parts be? Right now mine's at 1920x1080...I'm guessing that's a bit much?

 

For those that are having issues like i did getting cutscenes for any particular thing in mind. I have scoured the net and stumbled upon this site. That would be a bit much, also considering how large the file size would be even though its 1 minute max in length, how about 720x576, 640x480. Those are the okish settings that i find.

 

We want your parts in 848x480 if you're able to do so (if not don't worry about it, it can be adjusted when the MEP is compiled).

 

Isn't that an odd size, also it should be 29.97 FPS correct.
